  1. Solak is such an odd figure, almost peripheral. Essentially he is the money, Ankersen the supposed visionary. It does feel like a misguided oligarch funding the whims of indulged idiot offspring. Surely he must be aware of the complete disaster and its cause at this point. This season we had a gilt edged opportunity to bounce straight back up with lessons learned, so he allows the brains trust that relegated us to appoint Will Still over the likes of Steve Cooper. Still sacked and another chance to save the season by appointing the likes of Carrick, OGS, Viera and allowing them to assess squad before crucial / brutal January window with new blood in week one. Gone now. We were led to believe that Solak is an astute and responsive businessman, and up until this season Saints fans had cut him slack on this basis. However, right now you have to wonder whether he is careless, negligent or reckless or some sort of insulated simpleton. Only way i can see club fortunes changing is a driven brutal purge, and Solak is the only person capable of instigating this.
  2. No experience, no nous, zero gravitas. Tail wagging the dog.
  3. He said he was jolly batey.
  4. Clearly out of his depth and rapidly drowning. Anyone with eyes and a brain can see that this situation is not going to improve. Having got this nomark his contract the Winchester Land Rover set have switched back to comfort mode and it will kill us. We need to sack Adrian Mole and bring in the 2026 equivalent of Nigel Pearson for the rest of the season. Pronto!
  5. Real football club will have just made the decision in boardroom to sack the temp!
  6. We are appalling, lacklustre, careless and about as bad as I’ve ever seen us. Hull have had a couple of chances and buried both. Tonda has the presence and body language on the touchline of a disinterested ballboy. Complete fucking mess.
  7. It’s a cry for help.
  8. My overall prediction in general terms is ‘probably fucked’.
  9. Sure Rasmus can manage it and Spors will mansplain the reasoning.
  10. What a fucking tool! I am amazed he is yet to manage Saints.
  11. Best wishes to Lawrie for a speedy recovery. Was talking to my nipper after watching the Palace debacle on Saturday about the impact of an FA Cup win, and said that Southampton FC and the City generally got a decade of momentum on the back of the cup win in 1976. McMenemy's growing reputation and profile was key to this. Having already brought the likes of Osgood to the club, he signs Bally from Arsenal later in 76 and has his established model - senior pros mixed with promising youngsters. Ten years when we had some incredible players and could give any side in Europe a game, best time to support the club. The big man really should already have a statue at St Marys to compliment the man who brought him to SFC.
  12. Good luck Gav x
  13. Brownmore gonna brown more...
  14. Be interesting to see how many current season ticket holders agree with the uber chump if we are still in it come the summer. Might come as a shock to Brewster Solak.
  15. Good call, plus he’s Danish. Come on Ankersen you serial bell end!
  16. I think back in the day there was an element of young players wanting or feeling they should ‘pay back’ the developing club with a couple of seasons as a first teamer. Made sense to both parties in reality if you consider likes of Shearer and Bridge. That’s gone out of the window last 10-15 years.
  17. That's the key, they've had half a dozen chances to put things right in terms of first team management and screwed up every time.
  18. I think that when Sport Republic took over in January 2022 Saints were in 12th place in the Premier League on around 25 points. Saints had been a top flight club for over a decade at this point, with a modern large capacity stadium and category 1 training facilities - they weren't buying a 'Brentford' or 'Bournemouth'. Any level of success for this Board (with Saints apparently the flagship club in their plans) would have been to consolidate on this mid-table positioning in the first 18 months of ownership, with an aim to push towards the top half of the table thereafter. What we have endured since are two humiliating relegations, an unconvincing promotion campaign, and a fortune wasted on mediocre players and coaching staff whilst any rare talent is touted and sold as soon as they emerge. Throughout, the long term and long-suffering supporters have called out nearly every poor decision in real time - our current predicament is / was avoidable. It's not merely abject failure, it is reckless negligence.
  19. Like going from a VW Golf to a unicycle without a saddle. Bonne chance Stoke…
  20. A gut feeling he would have been a great fit for Saints. Old school SFC success story. Not going to find out under clownforce.
  21. I think a savvy board would have thanked Tonka profusely with a suitable bonus for the good run, then appointed the likes of OGS with members of his coaching staff. Option for Tonka to join the first team backroom staff under a highly experienced mentor, or back to U21 with stock high. Then given the manager input in the window for departures and additions with a push at momentum in play offs. It’s Ekhert’s long term career as well as our club that gets fucked over here, due to the endemic incompetence and negligence.
  22. He is just like a manager. The manager of a branch of Shoe Express.
  23. Yes, it’s almost like the club is run by people who don’t know what they are doing.
