  1. I'd take it back if I were you, Jill. I've always found Co-op sandwiches to be OK (don't buy them that often though TBF) - maybe you got a Friday one :smt102
  2. Latest news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/8156679.stm
  3. Latest news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/8156679.stm
  4. Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gout It is NOT necessarily caused by being overweight or drinking too much port (old wives' tale). I had gout once or twice when I was dancing - I certainly wasn't overweight and I have never drunk port! It is excrutiatingly painful that's for sure!
  5. Didn't that spook you too then - seeing it on TV just now. Sort of 6th sense or precognition?
  6. That spooked me! Unless S-S knew it was going to be on?
  7. http://home.clara.net/heureka/art/gilbert-white.htm But I prefer Hamster's version
  8. If my hazy memory serves me well, it's ALWAYS been a dump
  9. I thought it was going to be about these:
  10. "Private nominations, made by individuals or by representatives of organisations to the Cabinet Office, traditionally make up about a quarter of all recommendations." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7805537.stm
  11. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2009/jul/15/digger-canterbury-kits-owen-gibson " Portsmouth – currently in limbo as they await a new owner with no permanent manager, no new players and now no kit supplier – will be among those affected"
  12. Did you not know it was wrong then?
  13. Just been announced on the news that he's to undergo emergency surgery today.
  14. Check out hip dysplasia. My granddaughter has this (very mildly and doesn't need treatment until she's walking and by then it may well have corrected itself). Was your son born by C section by any chance? It's more common in children born by this procedure. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/hscout/2009/07/08/hscout628692.html
  15. Or gout?
  16. Wrap the hand in a cabbage leaf, put lavender under your pillow. You'll dream about the man you're going to marry and hey presto the wart will have disappeared too!
  17. Let's keep plugging away then
  18. Yeah but we'd collectively save a fortune on currency exchange. Unfortunately a fair few exchange dealers would be out of work, though.
  19. - life would be so much easier if we adopted the euro
  20. I said it before (probably on this thread): IF the guy has the moolah (and I'm not convinced he has) I reckon he'll wait until the very last minute. They have to pay a large wedge to their bank next month and if the takeover isn't completed by then, my guess is that they'll have real problems. He'll know that so will wait til the last minute and then drop his price substantially. That's my guess. C'mon guys - we know how it works. We're the experts, after all
  21. I was going to go with my boss (who's a Cheltenham fan). But I'm suing him for Constructive Dismissal (and I'm now out of work) so I don't think we'll be going together somehow.
  22. Still not working http://www.118800.co.uk/service_suspended.html
  23. This might help. It was in yesterday's Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2009/jul/10/best-value-travel-money
  24. I was listening to a military guy on TV this morning. He said it's not unusual for the toll to be higher in the summer as the enemy hole up during the winter to regroup and come out of hiding in the summer. He said it happens every year. (I think he was in charge out there a couple of years ago).
  25. I reckon I know what's going on. After all, we're all experts here, aren't we Al Fahim knows that they've got to pay a load of dosh to their bank next month or go bust. So he'll leave it to the last minute to do the deal because he can strike a harder bargain then.
