Ivan Katalinic's 'tache

"Nancy winger wanted by Southampton..." - I thought the League was trying to rid the game of homophobic comments?

Plus I'm sure there'd have been an indication of what was on offer before he even flew back otherwise why bother dashing in like that?

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/celtic-star-victor-wanyamas-planned-1983383 Oops! Deal collapsed according to this...

Maybe this is where Poch is a level up on Adders? Better contacts?

The paper also says he's flown back to England for talks (& presumably the hypnotic video). Could be done soon then all things being well?

http://africansoccer.weebly.com/1/post/2013/06/wanyama-close-to-southampton-switch.html Another report based on the original "quote" supposedly coming from Wanyama. Really hoping there's no smoke without fire.

I'm not surprised he's being careful. I'm sure Nathaniel Clyne got his knuckles rapped when he changed his profile on Twitter to say he was a Southampton player before the official announcement was made.

I would imagine Alan Nixon would have some great Scottish contacts and he seems pretty confident this will all go smoothly. All sounds good to me but would hope we get it done sooner than later to avoid last minute interest from elsewhere.

So that's not a 'no' then Vic? Glad he knows our nickname too!

If this really is our new shirt, are we now a team who plays in mainly red shirts? Would be good if the club covered why we'd be ditching the stripes... If, that is.

I usually buy the home shirt come what may. If that's it, I may make an exception. That's grim.

If Nixon's right, this actually sounds close...

From us?

Thanks, ta. Missed that. Might be on now we've got Lovren.

See, I was going for the standard set by Svensson for a hard as nails centre half procured from France.

Seen mixed comments, some very positive, some not so good. Not going to judge until I've seen the lad play so until them, welcome Dejan. May you be the new Killer.

Pretty sure I've seen bits from Ben Smith before and comments that his contacts with Saints are "top notch"... Sounds good! Right, who's next...

I guess it was always unlikely he would announce us as his destination before the club made an announcement and that's even if he's even on our radar.

Just thought of another one. Alan McLoughlin. Our first million pound player. Thought he'd be great for us but Chris Nicholl didn't seem to know what to do with him and stuck him out on the left, out of position. Another let down though perhaps not solely of his own making. Then Branfoot just wanted rid because he couldn't hoof the ball far enough, presumably.

Sssshhhhhhh! Just pass on the video we saw and mug them for the cash...

Seeing all the links flying around about Spanish midfielders such as Verdu and Banega made me think about our former midfield maestro, Inigo Idiakez, and how I had such big hopes that he could be the creative, goal scoring driving force our midfield needed to take us back to the Prem only to fall well short of that and then even miss a crucial shoot out spot kick. This in turn made me think who are the players other forum users had the highest hopes for only for them to fall well below that expectation. I guess Delgado and Skacel could be both up there for some and Gaston hasn't justified that £12m fee yet and maybe even Keegan didn't lead us to the Division One title. Any thoughts?

Isn't today the day supposedly pencilled in for Billy to meet with Poch to see whether he has a future at Saints? Or am I imagining that. If so, it'll be interesting to see whether there's an update on this later on today although I expect the outcome will be Billy looking for a new club.

Home to Cardiff.

Cortese is going to have to go some to get the 5 or 6 players in we need, before 1st July! 22 days and counting...
