Ivan Katalinic's 'tache

http://www.southamptonrumours.co.uk/ Hey - we must be a big team. We've got our own rumours site on Football Rumours! I can't wait for Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Jake Livermore to pull on the white and sash...

Didn't Dean Wilkins say something about they were still trying to bring in players on deadline day, even though AP had gone? I'm sure it's just a case of NA running the rule over the current crop of players and then making a decision about what we need. I think our impatience comes from the fact that we've suffered watching the team much more than him and have a distinct headstart in knowing what might be required!

Should I lump a big pile of cash on 0-0 on Saturday then?!

Holmes deserves a go in the side, with Puncheon on the bench. I think the first loans we should think about are strikers!

With NA saying on Solent that both Barnard and Connolly are carrying injuries, in addition to Lambo, it might be an excellent time to panic loan a couple of strikers. And a midfielder to replace Hammond. And a winger.

I'll go for the most unlikely scenario in World football: Pulis.

When & why did Cortese change our name to Southampton Nil? NC out.

B*ll*x

It's in the job description now. He's contractually obliged to.

Now that's a novelty. The left footed Jason Puncheon playing wide on the left...

Excellent appointment, as I hope we'll all find out over the next 3 years. Welcome Nigel.

Agreed. We're so close to the deadline NA himself has set that when the announcement comes is irrelevant. As long as the deal has been done and he's happy to take over, that's all that matters. Going to be interesting to see which training ground he's at tomorrow morning, if there is no news though!

Er... how about O'Neill?

Anyone know what reaction he got at Scunny today? Was it more 'please don't go' than 'f**k off now' or vice versa?!

I know he's only the stand in (well I presume he is!) but 3 straight defeats, 6 goals against and none scored is pretty sh*t. Anyone know if any of our previous managers made a bigger hash of being appointed?

And quite rightly so! This is primarily his team and they are either massively underperforming or simply not good enough. Can't believe we need another overhaul of the playing squad so it is surely the former.

P*ssed off but not surprised. How bad is that? Sort it out NOW Cortese before you can write this season off too.

Interesting comment after one of the most recent Adkins articles on the This Is Scvnthorpe website. How would referring the matter to the FA resolve the compo issue so quickly? It took the tribunal most of the season to sort out Colchester's compo from Norwich for Paul Lambert!

We know the current caretaker manager is going for three out of three tomorrow...

Adkins is now in an impossible position IMO. If he stays at Scunny, there's always going to be the suspicion now that his hearts not really in it and he's only biding his time until the next opportunity arises. If he comes here, he's got a real battle on his hands to get the fans onside because of a perceived lack of urgency in taking up the reins. Whatever he does, he's going to need to keep the results coming to keep the fans happy. Damned if he does; damned if he doesn't springs to mind.

Why won't you be on the bench? Have you got an injury?

Amended for accuracy...

It's my belief that we'll be in the brown stuff, if we appoint Brown.

Indeed. Plymouth at SMS. We lost. Might as well let Wilkins chalk up another defeat and then let Adkins take over on Monday IMO...
