  1. I'm sure I read somewhere that Fry (or it might even have been Wotte) said that 2 parties dropped out once we'd been relegated. With affection like that for the club, it's probably a good thing they did...
  2. I was thinking the same but, I guess, if the administrator is aware of another imminent bid, he has a duty to the creditors to see what that has to offer before accepting the first bid, acceptable or otherwise. I guess it all boils down to who is offering the most pounds, shillings and pence.
  3. Would be great news if true (the buyout not the Surman deal); it will be interesting to see what money they're bringing to the table, if they're willing to let Surman go for a fairly low sum.
  4. Just like that guy Spencer someone who tried to buy Aldershot. AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM!!!
  5. Nothing on the Sky Sports website yet. Anything further on SSN?
  6. Found this article on Strode-Gibbons dating back to August 2008. Thank goodness he never really managed to formulate a bid or we could've gone bust too! Oh... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/banksandfinance/2794539/Credit-crisis-one-year-on-How-sub-prime-put-a-stop-to-Go-Business.html
  7. Can't find them on the Times rich list, so they won't do. Cross them off Mark and concentrate on the (hopefully) fabulously rich household name person/consortium!
  8. Club survival permitting, obviously! http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4324509.Kelvin__I_hope_I_can_stay/ Would be a tremendous boost if he did stay, given his form this season.
  9. Only an idiot would buy a football club and then mess up the opportunity to unite a fanbase, by making the club debt-free, and then employ (or encourage the involvement of) the most divisive figure in the club's history.
  10. So we'd go from being one of the poorest clubs in the world to one of the richest (the Ambani's are 5th & 6th richest men in the world). I'm liking that dream...
  11. The OS says Gillett is back in training although it might be a bit too soon to throw him back in. Probably a better option than Wotton, though, if he really is fit again.
  12. Just had a thought! A wealthy Brit to buy Saints? Maybe they mean Britney Spears???
  13. The former footballer's consortium, would that be Rufus Brevett & Southampton Football Company Ltd by any chance?
  14. Today, I dropped my favourite Saints mug on the floor but it did not break. In these desperate times, I've taken that as a sign that we will go down but we will not go bust.
  15. You're not fit to wear the shirt!
  16. Wotte solves problem of mouth speaking before brain engages after "World Class Smith" gaffe.
  17. We can now only afford 1 banana per game, so the other players we're clearly gutted to have missed out.
  18. Positivity, eh? Well, my (near) 3yo is making his SMS debut next week (in the stands, not on the pitch, although you never know...). Oh, and we're gonna f**king walk League 1.
  19. Don't care for a lap of honour; nothing to 'celebrate' this season. 90 minutes of honest endeavour, for a change, would be preferable.
  20. So disappointed. After Wolves, it was obvious that we could not afford any more sub-standard performances because the teams around us are busting a gut to stay up. Against Palace there was some heart; today only one of the final nails in the coffin. Enjoy your signing-on fees elsewhere chaps, my only enjoyment will come if I still have a club to support next year.
  21. Congratulations Nigel Pearson! I just wish I was saying the same with you still in post as the current Saints boss.
  22. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1061745/Fifth-richest-man-world-sues-brother-sixth-richest-man-world-118m-libel-case.html He's apparently the 5th richest man in the World and, back in 2007, he was even top for a while! Paul Allen? A mere pauper! If this does not go through, it will be all your fault, Mark Fry!!!
  23. He's the brother of Anil Ambani, who was linked with buying Newcastle recently. Both are billionaires but I'm not sure if they get on too well...
  24. My son is nearly 3 and has his first ticket for the Burnley game. Just in case...
