  1. True, but I'm just not sure that a company in administration is allowed to take on or re-hire out of contract staff. Anyone know for sure?
  2. I've a feeling that he probably realises that our finances are so dire that, if we did go down, we'd probably have to go into administration and, if that happened, there wouldn't be any contract renewals (as I'm pretty sure his managerial deal only runs until the end of the season?).
  3. A man called Westwood probably.
  4. Er, not suggesting as good. Just think it was an 'interesting' comparison! Hth too.
  5. It's MW who says there are "similarities". I suggest you read more carefully.
  6. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4214327.Saints__Wright_Phillips_should_learn_from_Liverpool_ace_Torres/ First we were told Lee Holmes could be the next Arjen Robben. Now there are "similarities" between BWP and Torres! Who else can we compare to a current world great?
  7. It seems our immediate rivals are continuing to loan players to aid their survival as Alan Lee has gone to Norwich (from Palace) and Iain Turner has gone to Forest (from Everton). Surely there must be a few pennies left in the pot, especially with Bart & Fish out on loan, to get someone to help us out?
  8. One of my happiest Saints moments actually happened this week (yes, really!): I was putting my (near) 3-year old son in his car seat when our P*mpey supporting postie walked by. He tapped me on the back and said to my son (who was wearing his Saints shirt at the time): "I bet you'd prefer one of these?", pointing to the P*mpey badge on his hat, to which my son smirked and shouted (the much rehearsed phrase in our house): "Stinky P*mpey!". Absolute magic and a priceless look of shock on the postie's face.
  9. Certainly hope so. A striker to challenge Saga & Euell would be good. Billy Sharp is behind Beattie, Lupoli, Ward, Henderson and Webber at Sheff Utd and would do nicely IMO.
  10. Let's sue him if we go down, for not paying due care and attention to his current job.
  11. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4201817.Wotte_chases_another_loan_player_for_Saints/ Any further rumours on who it might be or even what position they play?
  12. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7940578.stm Nothing in the main text or story, as this is about our survival target, but under his picture it says that Wotte is looking to get a loan player before the end of March. Interesting!
  13. It would make sense to narrow the pitch, if we're going to continue to play with a diamond in midfield rather than wingers. It would also mean less space for opposing wingers to get behind our full-backs, especially as James was positionally suspect a bit earlier this season.
  14. If true, it's interesting that it's 2 teams, with 2 of the more astute managers in the Prem, who want him.
  15. According to the Beeb's gossip column, it came from the Star.
  16. And JP Saiejs did ok for us again.
  17. Could be a crucial point; could be a crucial 2 points lost. Having done the BBC predictor, I've seen that a lot of the teams around us are due to play each other and will therefore take points off each other. Win on Saturday and things could look much better. 10 points from home games against Preston, Cardiff, Derby & QPR would be a reasonable return.
  18. Oi! McGoldrick! The goal's over there!!
  19. "Thank you everyone for coming..." Right, I've revealed the bit of the meeting that I know about. Over to someone else to finish off...
  20. Didn't see this coming at all but it's nice to have a happy (football) weekend. Well done Euell, Saga, Rudi & Size - interesting what a few experienced pros can add to a young team, isn't it Rupes?! Must beat Cardiff next week, though, to make sure this fabulous performance is not in vain...
  21. Matt Oakley - centre mid
  22. Chris Baird at right back? Darryl Flahavan (Palace & ex-Southend) in goal
  23. Playing wise: Adrian Heath, Kevin Sheedy, Guy Whittingham, Paul Walsh, Rodney Marsh, Nigel Clough, Sol Campbell, Robert Pires, Alan Knight and Alan Biley plus ex-Saints Olivier Bernard, Calum Davenport, Peter Crouch and Jelle van Damme. Probably many more but these are those immediately spring to mind.
  24. Could turn out to be a great idea! Keep moving the staff (& players?) around until they find a role they're good at. "And we'd like to introduce our new lavatory attendant - David McGoldrick!"
