  1. One of my happiest Saints moments actually happened this week (yes, really!): I was putting my (near) 3-year old son in his car seat when our P*mpey supporting postie walked by. He tapped me on the back and said to my son (who was wearing his Saints shirt at the time): "I bet you'd prefer one of these?", pointing to the P*mpey badge on his hat, to which my son smirked and shouted (the much rehearsed phrase in our house): "Stinky P*mpey!". Absolute magic and a priceless look of shock on the postie's face.
  2. Certainly hope so. A striker to challenge Saga & Euell would be good. Billy Sharp is behind Beattie, Lupoli, Ward, Henderson and Webber at Sheff Utd and would do nicely IMO.
  3. Let's sue him if we go down, for not paying due care and attention to his current job.
  4. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4201817.Wotte_chases_another_loan_player_for_Saints/ Any further rumours on who it might be or even what position they play?
  5. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7940578.stm Nothing in the main text or story, as this is about our survival target, but under his picture it says that Wotte is looking to get a loan player before the end of March. Interesting!
  6. It would make sense to narrow the pitch, if we're going to continue to play with a diamond in midfield rather than wingers. It would also mean less space for opposing wingers to get behind our full-backs, especially as James was positionally suspect a bit earlier this season.
  7. If true, it's interesting that it's 2 teams, with 2 of the more astute managers in the Prem, who want him.
  8. According to the Beeb's gossip column, it came from the Star.
  9. And JP Saiejs did ok for us again.
  10. Could be a crucial point; could be a crucial 2 points lost. Having done the BBC predictor, I've seen that a lot of the teams around us are due to play each other and will therefore take points off each other. Win on Saturday and things could look much better. 10 points from home games against Preston, Cardiff, Derby & QPR would be a reasonable return.
  11. Oi! McGoldrick! The goal's over there!!
  12. "Thank you everyone for coming..." Right, I've revealed the bit of the meeting that I know about. Over to someone else to finish off...
  13. Didn't see this coming at all but it's nice to have a happy (football) weekend. Well done Euell, Saga, Rudi & Size - interesting what a few experienced pros can add to a young team, isn't it Rupes?! Must beat Cardiff next week, though, to make sure this fabulous performance is not in vain...
  14. Matt Oakley - centre mid
  15. Chris Baird at right back? Darryl Flahavan (Palace & ex-Southend) in goal
  16. Playing wise: Adrian Heath, Kevin Sheedy, Guy Whittingham, Paul Walsh, Rodney Marsh, Nigel Clough, Sol Campbell, Robert Pires, Alan Knight and Alan Biley plus ex-Saints Olivier Bernard, Calum Davenport, Peter Crouch and Jelle van Damme. Probably many more but these are those immediately spring to mind.
  17. Could turn out to be a great idea! Keep moving the staff (& players?) around until they find a role they're good at. "And we'd like to introduce our new lavatory attendant - David McGoldrick!"
  18. Count me in! FO Wotte, Lowe & Wilde.
  19. I guess another question is, if he were to go to the US now, would we get a transfer fee as he's still under contract???
  20. IMO, he's crucial to us if we have any hope of staying up (if Rupes says we're allowed to play him, that is!). Wouldn't blame him for wanting to go, though, given the appalling way we've treated our experienced pros this year.
  21. 2 things: 1) Is Wotte crazy in being happy with a squad that has comfortably got us to next to bottom in the league and; 2) What would he know about transfers - I thought that was Rupert's department???
  22. Do you have any idea who it might be MB? Or is it going to be the case one of us is going to have to get over to Marchwood to find out?!
  23. He's obviously been watching us play then! Short term contract 'til the end of the season, Tiss?! Even now you'd cover more ground than DMG!
  24. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=151655&highlight=santo#post151655 This was mentioned when the transfer window opened. Hmmm...
  25. So does that mean we've signed him or are we testing him out first? (The striker rather than A N Other).
