Apparently.....and Im only quoting what I read, they were willing to let him go for 17m. Not sure if we could afford it, but was quite keen on him playing wide also or even coming inside and linking midfield with attack as thats something we can all see that we need.

Oxlade chamberlain anyone ?

Lots of good players

Part of me agrees with this. It wasnt even seeing the gulf in class between the two starting 11s. Did you see their bloody bench compared to us !!

Hello mate Not having a dig as Im not into tit fir tat pettiness, but you have tarnished everyone with the same brush a little. Sure, there are plenty of people who will watch the news, go, oh thats terrible and just carry on eating their dinner without a second thought, or in this case, sign a form to feel virtuous, but in response to your comment there are plenty of people who change their lifestyles because of this sort of info or petition. I know this because Im one of them. Certain foods I wont eat, companies I wont buy from ( altho amazon have me by the bollocks which upsets me) companies I wont travel with etc. Ive been like this for nearly two decades. Does it affect their trading standards ? Well some cases, yes it does. Most specifically, altho i dont eat there, macdonalds changed a lot of their policies on the back of super size me, so kudos to them. My point is, more and more people are becoming better informed about dodgy, ethically immoral standards and I believe there is always a place to start. I think we can all agree we want to live in a better world and it all has to start somewhere. Normally with ourselves. ( nod to Gandhi there ) ,😊

The Kardashians 😂😂😂😂

Its the last point most definitely for me. They have owners who genuinely give a shit.

Ok thanks

Ive missed the whole game but noticed KWP isnt on. What happened ?
-
Yeah, fair enough. I think, certainly in Valerys case though, that some people would rather have him there than a cb out of position. I know JWP can play there but I thought they would have seen our injury list and decided it would be too risky to bank on him playing there.

Can anyone give me a genuinely decent reason why we let both back up fullbacks leave. I know this has been mentioned a few times on here, but for the life of me I cant fathom a reason. Its completely lacking any common sense so maybe some knows for sure why we let this happen. Its just such a Mickey mouse move that I struggle to get my head around.

Anyone starting to look nervously at the table?
Hawkswood replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
This for me also. I was 12 years old and this happened to be my first season watching us home and away. That qpr game being my first away game. We were brilliant to watch......shocking defending, but hey, thats Saints innit. Also a mention to my favourite ever Matty goal. I know everyone has their own favourites, but for me it was his second against Norwich at home. Left 3 defenders looking completely lost. Can watch that all day long. Christ......some of the goals we scored that season. -
Never a penalty

I played semi pro for years ( not that Im claiming to be some sort of authority) but I think having been part of a decent playing level for years is that the one thing that normally screwed us in this situation was changing formation. Thats something you should only ever do as a last resort as it throws everyone out of sync. They dont know their positions, they lose runners etc. Having been part of this for years it was always and only as a last resort but Im sure someone will see it differently. Thats just been my experience.

Im not sure if anyone else noticed it or its already been mentioned but there was something that happened on about the 8th minute that kind of sums up our attacking mentality. As you all know, when we have the ball in the opposition half, the ball tends to get recycled sideways again and again which invariably means whoever is playing upfront tends to have their back to the opposition goal, therefore making it harder for us to really turn and catch them. In roughly about the minute I mentioned the ball was knocked square to Minamino who with barely a glance up played a killer pass in between the two cbs. Ings shouldce been onto it and in their box in a flash but clearly wasnt expecting or used to quick pass like that. Hopefully they can get used to each other over time and work on some sort of understanding but what frustrated me was that it is exactly the type of cute, speedy pass weve been missing and Ings missed it. He didnt even acknowledge Minamino for the pass.

Sorry dude, if you feel ANY sort of emotion whilst watching Saints play, that makes you a fan, which makes you one of us. Its a shitter but there it is. Once youre in youre buggered 😂
-
Also, you know what I like about Djenepo ? It actually looks like he gives he a shit. Like he really wants to do well. Okay, when he runs with the ball no ones got any idea ( including himself) whats gonna happen, but I love that he wants to get involved and look to drive forward. Okay, thats all.
-
Isnt Vest right footed ? Pretty sure he could slot onto the right.
-
I agree with all of this except the last point. I think Salisu and Vest would be perfect together. Vest to bring the ball out and link defence and midfield ( ala ferdinand) and Salisu to be a quick, strong last man ( ala Sol Campbell) but we wait and see. Armstrong my MoM tonight but my favourite moment - and Im sure many other peoples - was seeing Fraser flying off his line once or twice to smash it clear.
-
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The defence has been apalling and could probably do with heaving a couple of them out.
-
And you must think as well with the way they rotate their squad he wouldn't automatically be a starter for some of the games. Once again would he want that at his age ?
-
Fair enough, i see your point. Its just that I hate spurs more than anyone else ( nearly anyone else) and the thought of losing another manager to them turns me a bit ill.
-
Look, we're Southampton. Ive been supporting us for 35 years and seen us go through loads of abysmal runs so Im really not concerned at the moment. Frustrated, yes, but not concerned. The only only thing that gets me worried is the effect this is having on Ralph. The lack of backing etc. Without him we're buggered. Imagine if Spurs dump Jose and are looking for a new manager !!!! F*ck me, the thought of that !!
-
Pathetic
-
I think he'll be the one that helps us move the ball quicker. Liked what I saw of him at Liverpool.
