  1. Isnt Vest right footed ? Pretty sure he could slot onto the right.
  2. I agree with all of this except the last point. I think Salisu and Vest would be perfect together. Vest to bring the ball out and link defence and midfield ( ala ferdinand) and Salisu to be a quick, strong last man ( ala Sol Campbell) but we wait and see. Armstrong my MoM tonight but my favourite moment - and Im sure many other peoples - was seeing Fraser flying off his line once or twice to smash it clear.
  3. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. The defence has been apalling and could probably do with heaving a couple of them out.
  4. And you must think as well with the way they rotate their squad he wouldn't automatically be a starter for some of the games. Once again would he want that at his age ?
  5. Fair enough, i see your point. Its just that I hate spurs more than anyone else ( nearly anyone else) and the thought of losing another manager to them turns me a bit ill.
  6. Look, we're Southampton. Ive been supporting us for 35 years and seen us go through loads of abysmal runs so Im really not concerned at the moment. Frustrated, yes, but not concerned. The only only thing that gets me worried is the effect this is having on Ralph. The lack of backing etc. Without him we're buggered. Imagine if Spurs dump Jose and are looking for a new manager !!!! F*ck me, the thought of that !!
  7. I think he'll be the one that helps us move the ball quicker. Liked what I saw of him at Liverpool.
  8. Ive got to say, Im reading the comments on the Guardian website ( please dont judge me, their football write ups are very good) and fwiw, the Man U fans are astounded at the level of refereeing and VAR decisions. They generally think its a complete farce and are also hammering Martial for the dive. Fair play to them.
  9. It wasnt 10 ? Thats all Ive got.
  10. Not for me. Im quite chuffed about this.
  11. Huh, good point that
  12. Christ, well remembered. that was insane, however I have one that might beat it but its a close run thing. South Korea v Italy, world cup quarter final 2002. Now THAT was bent.
  13. Come on mate, bit harsh to say we deserve to be losing
  14. I never comment on match threads but wtaf was that non penalty about. How fking blatant do they want
  15. Like it or not, Leicester are a step above us. Look at their squad and spending compared to us. Theyve got a great set up, play attacking football, have a good manager and are continually on the brink of european football. It might ba hard for some Saints fans to admit it, but of course going there would be a good move.
  16. Hello mate and welcome. Tbh, I obviously dont want him to leave but a lot of us are expecting it, so if he were to leave Id much rather it be to you than Spurs. I fking hate Spurs and Ive got nothing but good will towards Leicester. Christ.......if only we had your owners.......makes all the difference. Good luck and thanks for posting in a respectful way.
  17. Im sorry to carry on the Long bashing, but in a team full of kids, how can he look the least impressive forward on display. Admittedly this is my own point of view and Im sure some others will see it differently. Its just that with his experience, youd think hed be the one showing the composure, but it just never seemed that way to me. Shame hes ending his Saints career this way. I think Ralph chose the starting 11 wisely today. Experience all thru the middle making us solid and youth everywhere else. JWP probably MoM for me.
  18. I think you can look at it another way. Sure, some fans will take the piss : let them enjoy, but the flipside of that is cameraderie and bond that could well develop from that moment between him and the players and also him and the fans that will then again relay itself onto the players. I dont think there is a bad angle there, if anything bringing everyone in the club closer together, especially on match days. I mean, Im not a qualified therapist so I dont know. Its just a thought.
  19. Wow, that was a tough watch, but I suppose to be expected with the spine of our team out. I really wanted Diallo to have a better game but he looked a bit lost and a bit swallowed up today. Long feels like an empty shirt. I expect a better West Ham team to take full advantage of our threadbare squad.
  20. Yeah thats fair enough. I know we play a relatively unique system but its his decision making that bothers me and its the sort of decisions that SHOULD come down to experience. Look, Im more than happy to be proved wrong and I suppose when you look at the options that we had when it comes to signing a forward to cover our current players, it really wasnt a bad decision. Dont get me wrong, Im really not completely damning him, just a little disappointed at times.
  21. Yeah, this is where different people see different things. I found Theo frustrating again today. Yes he got in between the lines as I believe is essentially his job as a number 10, but Id like to think a player of his experience would know when to release the ball, which he doesn't and especially when to watch the defensive line and make his run. Thats the thing that bothers me most but its football and we all have our different perspectives. Chuffed with the whole team though, obviously.
  22. Theo was starting to annoy me. Great performances from Vest, KWP, and OR, but Che Adams is a f**king football genius. What a great all round footballer hes turning into.
  23. https://mobile.twitter.com/theidsmiths/status/1336040854792900609?s=12 Made me laugh !
  24. How long til djenepo gets that second yellow !
