That's because you have me on ignore, surely? Or is this one of those celebrated cases where you've taken me off ignore just to read my posts, completely voiding the point of the ignore button? With regards to the 40 years, to enlighten you as you don't seem to have grasped the subject of Apartheid that you introduced to a thread about Israel (even though you state they aren't similar and there is definitely no whataboutery ), it took OVER 40 YEARS of international pressure including sanctions, boycotts and embargoes and over 6 years of political negotiations to bring about the regime change needed to end it. I question the effectiveness of fuckwits in other countries waving placards and taking slow walks along city streets during that time as they don't appear to have had any effect : Likewise, I question the effectiveness of the current protests (not just for Palestine) having any influence over Israel or the US to bring about the end of the conflict. They are clearly having zero effect on Hamas who could bring about a ceasefire by releasing the hostages but choose not to do so. For the avoidance of any doubt (for the thickos, you know who you are ), this is not the same as saying people shouldn't protest.

*You're HTH. Not one person in the history of the innernetz has ever needed to "catch SOG out". He's the own goal king (obviously as well as the greatest wind up merchant that ever lived).
-
You really are quite odd. I haven't hurled any abuse at either you or soggy (yet). I was merely answering Soggy's ridiculous claim that Apartheid and Israel have equivalence. I guess you still consider him to be the greatest wind up merchant since the invention of the innernetz. Fucking plank! Lost any posts today 🤣

So, Apartheid is exactly like Israel then? We've got placards, marches, sporting boycotts, sanctions, all being made against Israel? Just another 40 odd years to wait for the resolution.... I figured you to be a little brighter than soggy's whataboutery, but apparently not.

How are we looking for this weekend on the protest front? 300,000 is the bench mark isn't it, so I guess around that for the next round of protests...

You (deliberately) missed the "waving placards" bit

Everton - Update: Docked 10 points

Sadly, the other teams are too shit for this to make a difference. Fingers crossed one or two of them find a run of games, but I'm not sure they will. -
Sadly, Hamas don't appear to be interested in the protests. They could force a ceasefire tomorrow by releasing the hostages, but apparently don't want that. What the fuck are you on about, re Apartheid? It lasted over 40 fucking years. It wasn't ended because some fuckwits in another country waved some placards around.

I read a study about this (I can't remember where or how I found it as it was a couple of years ago) which was very interesting. I'm paraphrasing as I can't remember the full article, however, it stated something along the lines that whilst the specific chromosomes are assigned at conception / fetal development that determine 'sex', hormones continue to develop / affect behaviour long after birth during life, so effectively someone born female could conceivably believe they should be male (and vice versa), due to these hormonal changes. I guess that would influence the debate about whether this should then be considered a medical issue (is illness too strong a word?) and whether hormone therapies should be introduced to redress the balance / the ethical or moral debate around that. I know I wouldn't want politicians involved in those decisions!!!

And spend their time constantly worrying about it - the same way that people with body dysmorphia do. Again, I understand that it is not classified as a mental disorder, but question whether it should be. Either that or we declassify body dysmorphia to no longer be a mental illness and ignore the plight of those currently suffering / help those with anorexia to become even skinnier! Which seems wrong! When it comes to the WHO, they've been wrong before (see COVID) and will be again. Currently they are classing old people being lonely as a global catastrophe
-
Including the NHS it would seem... They are happy to classify Body Dysmorphia as a mental illness LINK On the other hand, Gender Dysmorphia (where an individual wants to REMOVE an entire organ(s) of their body, which is literally the definition of body dysmorphia) is NOT a mental illness LINK It seems disingenous that the NHS would classify one condition where an individual spends time worrying about themselves as a mental illness, but another where individuals do exactly the same thing as not a mental illness! It's another example of political correctness gone wrong. I accept that it is not classified as a mental illness, but can see no logical reason why it isn't given the criteria for classifying body dysmorphia as one. In terms of the affect on the individual between the two conditions, I'm struggling to see a difference.....

If you stumble across Portishead pier on your travels give us a shout - apparently it doesn't exist anymore in Portishead

Yep, really, well and truly deleted. Gone.

My point was (as you clearly seemed to have missed it), that Labour front benchers are happily deserting the ship over a vote that was never going to achieve anything meaningful and in complete opposition to the party leader's instructions. If they are willing to do that for a meaningless vote, imagine what they would do when they finally come back to power and the vote actually means something. It highlights (contrary to certain posters' current views), that when Labour take back power sometime in the next 12 months, that it won't all be rainbows and unicorns and that self serving politicians will continue to be just that and will always put themselves first rather than the 'needs of the people'.
-
This makes no sense - half finished sentence! Enlighten me to the point....
-
Really? So you think they are in power? Odd.
-
Labour are revolting - and they don't even have a position of power or influence yet.
-
Do you think that might have something to do with the fact social media hadn't taken off when Blair was PM?
-
Well, apart from the bit about being the leader of the party, absolute spitting image.
-
I can see a large heap of disappointment on the horizon.

Not for measuring manager achievement it isn't, especially given our resources...

Why have you moved to the past tense? Is English not your first language?

Is our stated ambition to win the league?

This is still the Israel thread isn't it - amazing how soggy can turn every thread into a "far right", Tommy and Katy fest 🤦♂️
