  1. Just goes to show, you can't be fined for having a party if you don't know it's a party
  2. Went on for an extra day today. Barristers will be smiling all day knowing they can charge for another day
  3. Only one person in this photo with a smile on his face, which I imagine is because he's thinking how many zeros to put on the bill.
  4. Correct. Just Sir Keir left now to see if he can level it up to 1-1....
  5. So we're going to sell JWP and with the money we get for him we will buy a CM that is just as good as JWP (LFL) AND a striker who will score more goals than him. It's definitely a cunning plan, but surely the club that are going to buy JWP off us would just go and buy the CM that we're going to get, who is just as good, and save themselves a fortune?
  6. Apparently the Vardy's will be emulating Harry and his crazy wife and fucking off to America "as fast as possible". Hey, ho.
  7. What if he's not 'shit' and just being 'played out of position' which appears to be the excuse for so many of our players when they play shit?
  8. Anyone else having an issue with Strava (if you use it)? Todays ride, Strava added on over 2 minutes of 'moving time' compared to Garmin. The ride was recorded on a Garmin device, uploaded to Garmin servers and then linked to Strava, so effectively, Strava should replicate the details that it's been given from Garmin. Not sure why it has decided to randomly add time on - has been doing it to some degree for the past four or five weeks. Edit - just checked, looks like I've had an update to Strava and been given the new "Alex Ferguson" version 😉
  9. Who probably have no idea where their pension funds are invested...
  10. They'll have to look for one that is decidedly 'disheveled' after a night in a police cell as the man in question (rules out Priti) has been released on bail until mid June.
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/gymnastics/61488161 Why was he even competing in the first place? I thought all Russian competitors had been b-anned?
  12. Very true. Doesn't mean they won't want to keep it, especially their shareholders.
  13. My concern is that a windfall tax on the oil and gas companies will only achieve them putting their prices up to protect their profits. Ultimately this will benefit the tax man even more - as taxes are a percentage of the selling price - and hit the consumer even harder.
  14. Will it be Boris? 🤞 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61487215
  15. Or survives until the weekend without a 'mystery' illness.
  16. Is she the one on the left?
  17. Huge announcement from McDonalds today that it will cease trading in Russia for good. Very symbolic as McDonalds was one of the first Western brands to appear in the USSR when it started to become less insular and is iconic in marking the end of the Cold War. Hopefully it will start to raise more questions with the Russian population who might start to question the current narrative - although I'm sure Moscow will spin it and say they were 'kicked out'....
  18. Have you gone back to being a lawyer again now?
  19. Did they decide what land Ukraine should give up?
  20. If only Ukraine can decide what's best for them, surely the rest of the 'talking' is just vanity projects from people looking to make headlines? Didn't this happen at the same time as Zelensky said he would talk, but to Putin personally?
  21. Do you now disagree with your earlier statement that Macron was right to negotiate on their behalf?
  22. His house is from the 1600's - and probably hasn't been upgraded too much since it was built. Probably only just got electricity in Harptree! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gournay_Court
  23. Not at all. Corbyn had the personality of a lettuce wilting in the sun but he also had policies that were bat shit crazy! Ironically, Corbyn is probably the only party leader in the last 30 years that has had any political gumption about him and truly believed in his policies, rather than pandering to the populist vote. In that respect he has probably been the most 'honest' party leader in our lifetimes. Doesn't mean he was right, far from it, but if you could combine someone with his convictions to his policies with policies that would actually work, then you would have a hands down winner.
  24. It's certainly a more convenient mantra to trot out rather than understand the root cause and do something about it.
