  1. So, with the tour and now the vuelta under his belt, will Froome finally get the recognition he deserves, particularly from the British public?
  2. Any chance you can change your username to "Mental"? Your posts are becoming more and more delusional
  3. The theory sounds marvellous! The reality is, 27 countries aren't all going to agree on the terms of a deal! So, yes, it is a fantastic idea to have a deal in place. Not going to happen though!
  4. There isn't going to be a deal. Anyone who genuinely believes that the expectations of 27 countries - each with their own different agenda - can honestly be met during these negotiations is completely deluded! Way too many fingers in the EU pie for this to be resolved by way of a fair deal for everyone. The next 18 months will be more of the same with each side 'leaking' that the other isn't playing ball until the inevitable split happens without any resolution in place.
  5. Schwalbe Pro One - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/schwalbe-pro-one-evo-microskin-tl-easy-folding-road-tyre/ Chose them because they were supposed to provide excellent cut / puncture resistance. I've counted over 30 cuts on the rear tyre....
  6. So, I've had some tubeless tyres for the last 6-8 weeks or so, but not impressed! Front wheel is fine but the back wheel is a liability! I've counted 8 times now when I've heard the 'hissing' from the back as another puncture occurs. Fortunately the sealing liquid inside has done its job and the hissing soon stops as the puncture is repaired but it's only a matter of time before one doesn't fix itself and I'm left roadside with a notoriously difficult tyre to remove to put an inner tube inside to get home! The tyre must be pretty thin to have so many punctures and with about 700 miles of use it's about to be changed to a new tyre with an inner tube!
  7. Yesterday was the anniversary of the court case - the money already paid for my Di2 equipped bike I do have my eye on a nice 'winter' cross bike with the refund money though
  8. £12.5k last year when this all happened, then I get the refund of £1.2k this year I was out of work for about 2 months in total last year so the money won was a Brucie Bonus
  9. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40727400 Employment tribunal, the gift that keeps on giving - £1200 refund coming my way! Oh, and I received a letter from the taxman yesterday saying I'd overpaid my tax and they are going to pay me back another £1000! It's been a good month
  10. Meh, who let Sue back on?
  11. Meh, my handful of top tens on Strava were all set with a tailwind! But, it is a very rare thing!
  12. Is this the week that the takeover will happen? It's been many weeks since they voted and agreed so unless there's a problem with the F&PPT then surely it should all be sorted this week....
  13. Yay, my first [legitimate] KOM! https://www.strava.com/activities/1085658825/segments/26720308364 I've got another one but that is down to a blip with Strava / GPS which has me at a speed of 48.5mph on the flat!!
  14. Have they been taken over yet? It's only a month or so until the new league kicks off so surely the takeover is done and dusted and the long awaited cash injection has been injected to allow them to make the necessary upgrades to the tatty timber tabernacle to ensure the safety certificate is granted. Or will they have yet another season of reduced capacity with thousands of plucky young kids missing out on the chance to watch their heroes become villains and back again? This couldn't be yet another tyre kicker could it?
  15. Lots going on today with attacks from everywhere. Can't help but feel the coverage on ITV4 is being spoilt horrendously by all the adverts though! Every time something is happening, which today was most of the time, we went off for another ad break! It's like living in America! Looking forward to tomorrow with the three HCs. Will the race be neutralised with the break allowed to go on to the finish and Sky marking all the other teams out of the equation or will we see some cohones [sp] and some serious attacks on the hills?
  16. Another long 200k of flatness today with yet another bunch sprint at the end - unless a big breakaway can manage to stay out! Another rest day for the GC contenders. Can Dan McLay get a win under his belt today???
  17. Have they been taken over yet or is it all a fairy tale?
  18. Was an awesome ride though! Hope you enjoyed coming down through Cheddar - imagine what it's like to do once you know the road! Sadly, I've never done it as fast as I can as there is always the unknown threat of a bus or a coach round the next corner, would be awesome if they closed it for half a day.
  19. Pretty sure I've narrowed it down to 2 now! I've discounted the Ultegra groupset - I think I've been spoilt by the Di2 system! - but still want something that will be reliable, which the Tiagra set I've currently got isn't! I prefer to go out on the bike in the winter rather than sit in the garage on the turbo and don't mind the rain or the cold, but I want to know the kit underneath me is going to be reliable! Shifting on the Tiagra set is very hit and miss, you can hit a hill change gear and get a fistful of clicking from the back, 10-15 seconds later it might change a cog or two by which time momentum has been lost! No amount of tinkering with the cables etc has fixed this! So, it will be either 105 or Rival but it may come down which one has the best brakes!
  20. Some advice please The winter bike is getting an upgrade in the next couple of weeks and I need some advice on groupsets... Currently the bike has a complete Shimano Tiagro set on it - it's crap, except the front derailleur which is OK! The brake springs have gone and nothing I can do will fix it! The brake levers are terrible and the adjustment on the calipers is non-existent! The summer / best bike is equipped with Shimano Ultegra - but has the Di2 system. I do like the Ultegra brake levers as they are ultra comfy and the calipers have superb adjustment. For the last couple of months I've had it in my mind that I will just go for an Ultegra groupset - manual rather than Di2 - on the winter bike which will cost about £500. My LBS will do all the cabling for about £40 and I've no problem fitting all the hardware. However, today I've noticed on Ribble that they are selling a Sram Rival 22 groupset with the right size chainset and cassette that I want for £333! So, is the Sram Rival 22 any good - any other recommendations for groupsets [budget is around £500] - Must have 30/54 chainset and 11-28 cassette with 172.5 pedals... Finally, any recommendations for winter tyres - the Vredesteins that it had on it have been shredded in just one winter so looking for something to replace them - figured they may be cheaper to buy in the summer
  21. Would that be the same Germans who investigated Bernie Ecclestone for tax evasion? The same tax evasion that when he was banged to rights and was certainly going to be found guilty when they went to court, they let him pay a fine and it all disappeared? If it is the same, then I'm sure she's got nothing to worry about that her bank account can't handle
  22. I hope the fans don't flare up if he doesn't get immediate results.
  23. Belt and braces approach now they're in League 1.
  24. Meh! You say that like there aren't handfuls of suitors lining up to buy the bestest club in the world now that they have confirmed they are for sale....
