I'm hoping they don't drop a really big offer, because I want him to stay. But we'd be foolish to turn down anything north of 45.
-
What's more likely than that is, we have a poor campaign and survive. And he has a lass than stella season and all the interest drys up.

Having watched RB for for 70 mins yesterday, I didn't see anything different from his last few months with us. Watch him slip down to bit part player. I'm happy with the decision.

Say it quietly, but I think Walcott looks sharper in this pre-season than in any time over the last five years. We could well get four or 5 goals from him over this season.

How long before £1M a week isn't enough?
-
Glad the financial fair play has evened the playing field for all the teams.
-
And Sig is still banged up.....this could be a good time to play them! 😀

First game of the season. Rafa. Everton. I reckon we'll play well, perhaps even dominate possession. And lose 1-0. That would be a fairly typical start.

I'm just waiting for the picture of Dean smith standing next to Messi holding up the Villa shirt now. Money to burn.

Its not buyers market now. That boat has sailed. Panic is setting in and prices are going up. The ill prepared are set to pay.
-
Little bit of growth coming through, almost a twat beard. Not quite though.

Oh my god. In the 89th minute, when Long chased down that threw ball, then over hit it with just the keeper in front of him, I felt the whole saints community sigh all at the same time. This season is going to be a struggle. Still looking forward to it though.

Shall we ignore it in the same way the players will ignore the plight of all the people that have died so Qatar can host the tournament?
-
Just read three pages and can't work out if something has happened? Anyone.......?
-
Just as long as they do it in Qatar, then that's fair enough.

I'm really pleased with the direction the club are moving. We don't have the same money to compete with 60-70% of the other teams, so we changed our tactics in the recruitment area. I think we are in for a right old battle this season, with some glaring problems still to be resolved, but I much prefer going into it with unproven building blocks desperate to prove their worth. We could well have some little gems ready to shine. I hope Ralph seizes upon the support he's being shown, his leadership qualities are more important now, more than ever.

That was just Lewis and the PR team making sure they deflect blame for that crazy start. Being the only one on the grid was his call, and his call alone. I've been a big fan of him, but in recent times he's just become a machine sending out noises. Nothing genuine, at all.

I really like that letter. How refreshing to read a statement that you can believe comes straight from the guy. Hope he gets the move he wants. Its not like he signed a new five year deal, tells everyone he wants to retire there, and a week lately goes on strike. You'd have to be a right cunt to do that.

Player watch should be extra spicy this season. Brandon V Tino. One of them has already won the stadium chant. ......Tino....tino.....tino......... 😆

A nice reminder that sometimes we do do good transfer business. Not often mind........

Another Lemina in my opinion.

When they cash the Grealish cheque I'll be more worried, but we know they will have to dig deep. He'd be a massive gamble at anything north of 45M for them. Could see the pressure making it a nightmare move for a fee like that. Any that's not a dig at James, its just we know and recognise his limitations. They just see the highlights and look at the stats.
-
I think what we are seeing just shows we absolutely needed a rest after the last two quick fire seasons. I'm not going to get too excited though, as its the squad depth that will do us in once again if we don't add some quality to it.
-
No point being jealous of anyone. We've had some cracking seasons since our return to the big time. And even in our down turn of the last four/five years Pompey haven't managed to inch closer to us at all. So, rather then shedding a envious eye, spare a sympathetic thought for our fishy brethren.

The lad looks good, but £50M? Man, that is crazy. We need to get some new batteries for the black box, we can't compete in this market right now, we need a couple players from nowhere. 17th place trophy should be well interesting.
