Although Dean Smith is in a incredibly difficult situation, he would be foolish the start Ings on Friday night. Rushing him back could well have serious repercussions. But, I wonder if the pressure Smith is under will make him throw the dice. If he has one game to save his job, why worry about the next three months. Very little info going round from the midlands, they want this quiet for as long as possible.

Targett hasn't just suddenly become crap over night, but there are a few things that are aiding his regression. Grealish going piles far more pressure on him to push forward and help create, which is a massive risk with his lack of pace. Their keeper Martinez has suddenly realised he's not quite top draw after one of the best 1st seasons at a club like Villa. Add to that the pressure of the crowds being back, and that is now having a massive impact on the performances. Dean Smith has done a exceptional job there, getting promoted and staying up against the odds (a bit of thanks to the faulty hawkeye system), and now that's seems to have gone by the wayside, as they bay for blood. Could they do better, yes, but boy could they do worse. The next game is crucial. Lets hope we can bid him a fond fairwell! 😇

When Berty got sent off in the original 9-0, they didn't rule out the goal. They just hammered us twice instead.

Could well be a couple sackings in the morning. Personally I think everyone needs to chill, and wait for the international break. Please.

Jesus, how long does covid of the hamstring take to heal................sounds nasty! 😉

I thought AA was really snatching at things against Chelsea midweek. He did not like being dropped from the team & it showed. As the match went on, his frustration grew. His pen was very good considering. Today I think he was trying too hard. He had a couple really good efforts that were only just wide. If he relaxes a bit, goals will come, of that I'm sure. Anyone writing him off right now, just wants to be the first to call out the cheap Championship striker that we we shouldn't have bought, as a stick to beat the owner with. This lad as potential, perhaps more than Che in some aspects.

I needed today to go right. Had a tough end to the week, needed to stop the spiral. Thanks Saints, needed that.

Please hang on to this saints. Too much hard work to fuck this up now.

All we now is for King to remember how shit he really is. Last weekend has to be the blip, surely.

I'd take Pelle back......but only if he brings the Tad.

Danny Rose has recovered from a minor calf injury that saw him miss our trip to Everton and is available for Saturday's match. -------------- We stand a chance. Come On Saints!

Poor Newcastle. This is the level of player they are going to have to over pay for to show the ambition of being the richest club in the world. They are going to spunk billions over the net few seasons on players and managers while desperately seeking the promised land. While in reality, geography and mentality of the people will always contain them as also rans......at best I'll be happy if we can rob them of some of the wealth along the way though. Anything north of 50 and he goes with my blessing.

That penalty line up of ours has to be one of the most anxiety inducing ones I've ever seen. Walcott, Long (fair play he scored, but who really thought he'd hit the back of the net?) and Smallbone. Out for nine months, and brave enough to step up for a pen, credit for that, but still very strange. But please, never those three again.......ever. Really enjoyed the game though, that rag tag bunch especially at the back did us proud. Hopefully Chelsea get City in the next round.......... -

A good 44 minutes. Impressed with the makeshift back line, kept to their jobs well. Kevin Friend is still a bellend. Gives them the weakest stuff and ignores us. Whatever. At one down, this should be interesting, keeps Mount from an early appearance, and we will attack. -

Great opportunity for Adam Armstrong tonight. I bet he's chomping at the bit after being benched for the last couple. 2-1 Saints. We got this....... -

I'm worried that Ralph seems to see everything last. Come on, help us apologists out sometimes Ralph, pretend to be competent.
-
Kinda don't mind if it stays on 5. Us and City still the only two in the pl era to score six still.

No body is going to see any Utd fans tomorrow. They will all be in the bunker.

Thank goodness Watford got that out of their system before next weekend.

Mustn't give Cornet a sniff. He looks pretty decent. Really hope we take our chances today, I don't think we'll get away with another Leeds game again this weekend. UTS

Referee: Chris Kavanagh. Assistants: Dan Cook, James Mainwaring. Fourth official: Michael Salisbury. VAR: David Coote. Assistant VAR: Matthew Wilkes. This line-up makes me feel better about the weekend. I wonder which unlucky clubs are getting the irrepressible Mike Dean.........

Justice for Bruce. Outrageous that he should be sacked after the last couple of fluky season's. There's no better vegetable than the common cabbage. The only thing that will redeem these trillionaire Arabs is if they nab Redknapp on a 6 year deal.

As soon as Burnley step out onto the pitch the wind will howl, and the rain will lash!
