There's enough of a gap between these two games to continue with the same team. We should should let the momentum continue. The cup game is massive. We have to put all our eggs into that basket, because we look in a great position to upset a big team. After these games are out the way, then shake the team up for the Villa game. This is a massive six days for us. Come out of this well, and we are going to have a very exciting end to the season.

Conte has well and truly spat his dummy out. Lots of speculation over his future in the coming days. Its like he likes making the papers.

To be fair to FF, he has played over 120 games for us. I thrust him far more than the other two. But if Alex has that new contract, I can't see us doing any big business for a keeper this summer.

The Athletic article about Saints' mystery injuries around 60mins
LiberalCommunist replied to Saint NL's topic in The Saints
If 'our' mini break stops them implementing the five subs rule, then I'm all for it. But, I reckon we need to throw them of the scent by switching to the 55th min mark...... -
Ings really made a foolish decision. Turning down that record contract from us was a big mistake. We know he loves playing, and loves scoring goals. So now he gets an extra 10%. But he's out of favour. He struggles to break into the team, and can't add to his goals tally. He looks annoyed. A penny for his thoughts right now, I bet its regret!

Looked like a hit piece. Smelled like a hit piece....... Looking forward to tomorrow so I stop taking it personally.

Nothing wrong with that at all. As soon as we missed out on the L1 play-offs, I wanted rid of the strongest team in preperation for our next assault. Its only natural. What makes it more important this year is, Newcastle will affect all of the transfer fees this summer for the whole of the EPL. That will cause us trouble. If they get a year in the wasteland, it would be good for football in general.

I do hope Chelsea and Broja recognise the potential problems for his great return. This lad will not be happy with ten minute cameo's for half a season. He looked thoroughly hacked off yesterday when he came off, then had to watch an old man steal a bit of his goal scoring glory. He is nowhere near the finished article, and they will not put up with the rawness we are witnessing. (Not a dig, I really like the lad) I really hope he makes a well thought out decision on his future. It would be awful to watch Chelsea kill off his desire, and ruin his development.

Well, what have we learned today..... Title race back on...... Relegation race suck Everton back in. Bet Pool are happy tonight!

Complete and utter domination. For the first 20 minutes I wondered if Everton could keep the tempo up, as I've never seen them work so hard. Turns out, they couldn't. We should have put them to the sword really, but some great team play and build ups involved in some wayward shooting and wrong decision making. For all Evertons diving, and thrashing around on the deck in peril, I thought they were lucky to finish the game with 11. Top Half Baby! UTS

If Toon get anything from today, then I won't waste anymore energy on wanting them to get sucked into to relegation. That team is poor. Time to earn all the praise you've been getting Eddie.

Come on Vesti, make that 15M feel even bigger. Jesus, these part time postmen haven't played for 67 days. Come on Vesti, do me proud!! 😁

I've always said to anyone who'd listen that England will be beaten in a final before they win a tournament again. And they only went and did that. I have hopes for us. Probably a League cup win if we can keep the conveyor belt running. There's always room for hope.

We get it we're not a massive club...

MP & NC leaving were the catalyst for that extraordinary summer window. I imagine a few of the players (well at least Lallana) thought the wheels had come off and we'd be relegated the next season. I wouldn't expect to see a situation like that again unless there is some big turmoil behind the scenes. We did amazingly well to calm the waters. I'll always have a soft spot for Ron for how he handled that first month. Not many other gaffers would have had his approach. -
Just imagine if by the time we play them, they are missing all the new boy saviours! I might start believing in God.......or karma........or both!

Not too bothered about the noises from our club, but what I do find terribly irritating is the medias reaction to our good performances. They act all incredulous about us having the audacity to have good footballers here. How very dare we. -
And that 7-1 in 1996. That's the first defeat that made me feel physically sick. What a wretched day that was. Then Beattie leaving us for them. Fast forward some years and that opening day depressing defeat. 3-0, taken apart when my hopes were so high. Not sure why that game stands out, as we've had loads of them against us over the years. They have been my under the radar hate team for a long time.

Big fan of Broja. I really hope he makes a good choice regarding his career. It would be such a shame to see him go back and get little game time. And he is not ready to be a starter for Chelsea, that is clear. They wouldn't have the patience. One other thing that bumps us up the loan list should be, Chelsea should recognise that we have taken good points off their direct rivals. That is a nice additional incentive.

FF saving shots at his near post. That's the biggest change. I love it!
-
Brendan kinda chucked him under the bus with those comments. 'We brought on some height near the end, and needed to be aggressive.' He's just fed him to the fans. No way he can recover. He'll be in witness protection with Berty by the end of the month.

Sterling with the worst ever perfect hat-trick. Deflected right foot. No defending header Missed pen for left tap in. Well played! 🤣

For those over 40, a trip back memory lane
LiberalCommunist replied to Southamptonsi's topic in The Saints
Ceefax was like some weird addiction for me. When I was young, I'd pull up a chair, and sit staring at the 8bit screen waiting for Le Tissiers name to flash up. To be fair to my memory, his name was about 80% likely when it came to our goal scorers! Some years later I had a job in retail where we'd sell videos. On Saturdays I'd turn it on to ceefax much to the annoyance of everyone who worked with me, or shopped in the shop. Fortunately I was too good at the job to get canned. Must have been close though! lol Page 302.......prem football hell yeah baby!!!!! -
How are we supposed to take womans football seriously, when a girl called Aggie Beever has just scored for Bristol City! I'm starting to feel like they are just trolling me now...... 😄 😁 😆
-
Pleased we now have a week to recuperate. That shall be our biggest weapon against these lot. Leeds were dreadful yesterday, but, Everton do now have a more cohesive play about them. They look a little better under fatboy Lamps. We will need to be right on it to beat them, regardless of their league position.

So, we just drew with the brats. Deserved to win that in all honesty. But, I'd take a draw. Heaps a load of shit on them once again. And with players like Bruno, Pog and Lingard, they deserve all the shit they get. Classless wankers in all truth. UTmightyS
