We need Salisu back, then we need to work out where to get the yellow card that takes him to ten. I imagine that will be the first 20 minutes of whenever he plays. Boy sure does like a card.

I don't understand the Howe obsession. Sure, it was more fun when he was at Bompey, but he's pretty inoffensive. He's earned his licks. He got absolutely destroyed at Burnley, went back, did well (for a bit), and got a opportunity at a bigger club. Me wanting Newcastle to get relegated this season was more about the effect they will have on the transfer market over the coming seasons. They will cause big trouble for clubs like Southampton. Add to that the owners that they managed to trawl up, and the new found arrogance of their fanbase, and I'd say Eddie Howe is one of the least annoying things about that club. They are safe, thanks to the incredible run they are on. But I hope we beat they just because of the bullshit they pulled with Covid in January. People will remember that, for years to come. They manipulated the rules and took advantage of a crisis. A scummy thing to do.......but it worked.

If they are relegated, I say we send back Theo Walcott.

Just looking at the fixtures to see if this benefits us much, but there's enough gap inbetween that we won't get any significant advantage. But what I did notice is how Londoncentric the end of the season is for us. Might as well hire out a Travel Lodge and be done with it! lol

I'm looking forward to ref watch this morning. Should Ralph be bombing down the touchline to stop the opposition taking a throw in, or quickly retrieving the ball to set up a fast break...... Think carefully now Dermot, this is not a 90 second water break when a player is down injured.

He's been a great owner for them. Created the most successful 20 years in their history. He's Russian, but he didn't start the war. Let them sing a song.

And add to that the obligatory defibrillator related crowd medical emergency. Strange times, strange times indeed.

If Salisu isn't fit by Thursday, I'll be furious if the club don't fake a C19 outbreak. FURIOUS

Yeah, me too. It felt like a defeat. It was a dreadful performance. I only really remember the end because Virgils goal kept our european home unbeaten run alive.
-
It was a dreadful game, but we didn't lose. VvD scored a last minute goal, but a score draw was not enough to see us through. Again, a dreadful game.

Make nine changes. Rest key players. Pick up more in injuries than ever. Frustrating.
-
They are playing their 2nd string. Winnable. Not preferable....

I reckon we'll get away to Everton. Wouldn't be unhappy with that.
-
4-2 like the paper aeroplanes game. I enjoyed that day. They were in absolute turmoil. How we allowed it to be 3-2 before Mane scored I'll never understand. We've got a pretty good record there. And I think we'll come away with three points on Sat. A 2-1. With them getting a late goal, probably a 40 yarder from Pip.

Jesus. That team. Wow. Shades of Sheffield and Sunderland. As I cling to hope all I can think is Nigel saying; 'Hard work beats talent.....' Over and over again. You fuckers better work hard tonight~! uts -
Yep. Here's an example. I was happy we gave Long the sentimental extension. I thought he'd done enough to earn it. Saying that, his goal against Everton was about £5m worth of enjoyment!

.....................And Burnley. Don't forget them plucky fellows!

I've watched quite a bit of Leeds recently. This new guy isn't going to turn that bunch into the into anything special, they just won't be shipping 3/4 each week. They'll survive, but only because of Brentfords generosity.

We had two red cards rescinded last season. One of them led to a historic defeat. I don't recall us getting an apology. Man up Everton, its var......its always been shit.

Saints 3-1 West Ham - Match Thread

I'm hoping the 2nd half will be more energy sapping than that. Both teams just mincing about with little concern. Come on, tackles, knocks, cards....all of it. Both these teams are in our focus now. -
Unpopular opinion alert. I was totally bewildered yesterday when Christian Erikison came on. Down to ten, being run ragged, and here's the good news story the football world has been waiting for. I'd be pretty unhappy with Thomas Frank if I were a Brentford fan. They are in free fall, and he looks a bit clueless. And pandering to this news story isn't going to help them. Eddie Howe even saying what a nice moment it was. Yeah, 2-0 up playing against a shit team down to ten, I bet you were in dreamland! I'm glad CE is well, and still has a football career, that is great news. But what a circus yesterday was. Tin pot team going down.........

I hope the players are sensing just how big of a opportunity this game is. Get through this round and we'll give anyone a game in the next. No fear. Looking forward to watching WHU struggle against Wolves tomorrow while we enjoy our extra long rehabilitation. This game is ours to lose. I'm not even too bothered about 5-6 changes for Villa at the weekend. -
Leeds are so broken right now. They are unlucky to not have pulled a goal back, but they look like they could concede any amount again today.

Nice weekend of football with the win safely wrapped up! I love it when a plan comes together!
