  1. So, today is the day the country has been waiting for. People excitedly getting ready, a buzz around the community. Children laughing, Mum singing & Dad whistling. The end to what feels like a long wait for the country. MATCH DAY
  2. And the way they legitimised Cash saving that shot. To be told that was the correct decision was almost a bigger slap in the face than them allowing it. I think as time goes by, that game will be remembered as something rather special. Hall of fame sort of awful. And perhaps that kick started the dreadful run we went on. Timing is convenient. Theo's injury fits the narrative. I'm starting to really dislike Villa. Considering we have outplayed them twice this season, they sure have caused us a lot of trouble.
  3. Not to mention the three goals we scored against them that culminated in us losing 1-0. That game still gives me rage.
  4. I've not seen the VAR table for quite some time, but I'm willing to bet Villa are at the top. They have benefitted in so many games since it was introduced. (not to mention hawkeye)
  5. It feels like time to ask, which made you feel worse? When the Watford player used his hand to score, and nobody saw nothing. Or when multiple officials glare at a monitor, then the goal last night is ruled offside. I prefer the sport before var contaminated it. At least it felt honestly dishonest.
  6. That is one of the worst offsides of this crazy season. No one would have moaned if that was given. That was level. Utter madness. I'm dreading sitting in the stand.
  7. You should be a speaker at a self help group. That would be hilarious from the sidelines. 'There's no such thing as addiction......you are just weak minded.' Problem solved. 😆
  8. I get absolutely bombarded with gambling ads on youtube. Its a much bigger problem than shirts and bill boards. It really annoys me. I don't have an addiction, but I've known people who do, & I have a lot of sympathy for the illness they suffer from. Some of the comments on here seem really inconsiderate, and perhaps a little extra education on the subject may well help people understand the issue better.
  9. Football is morally bankrupt. I say take the money. It was nice that we once stood against this, but clearly times have changed.
  10. Rather than conjuring memories of Rickie, just think of Shane Long instead. That brings Che's stock up considerably.
  11. We have quite a few players that I wouldn't mind seeing go this summer, but Che certainly isn't one of them. He's not the finished product by any stretch of the imagination, but he's hungry, and he gives his all. There's better players out there who would do worse than he.
  12. Mike Dean should have booked the Brighton player for that challenge on Bruno in the build up to Utd's goal. Just because Utd scored, does not mean that the reckless challenge goes unpunished. Cough Bertrand cough
  13. We could have conceded one and ruined the whole afternoon.
  14. Dreadful first 20 minutes. Awful last ten. But the rest was very good. Pope made a few really good saves, and we ruined some lovely breaks. But the magic 36 pt mark. Now we can put all our eggs in the cup basket. Happy Easter one and all.
  15. So you wouldn't describe that as a confidence boast. What would you call it, a moral sapping victory?
  16. Pereira. Worth a punt. They'll probably want £30M though.
  17. Nice little confidence boast for them before next weekend.
  18. Burnley then Wba. Get this right, and we are in for a good end to the season. Maybe even benefitting from the international break for a change.
  19. James is old school. He'd play with his leg hanging off.
  20. So, have we made it through relatively unscathed! Praise the lord on this holy week. Burnley are going to get smashed. Okay beaten. Narrowly.
  21. Better the devil you know. And in this case, I reckon that's about right. Gao is the least ambitious billionaire you will ever find. In fact, he's also the poorest billionaire. But he's our unambitiously cheap media dodging owner. Good ol' Gao.
  22. Could be worse. In order of how worse it could be..... 1) Mike 'me myself and I' Dean 2) Graham 'great scot' Scott 3) John Moss..........oh shit............
  23. You seem to have missed your own point. You started a thread about how embarrassing it is to lose 9-0. Maybe change the title to 'what disappoints me most about Saints is............'
  24. Indeed. Dreadful conditions, side ways lashing rain, & nothing malicious in it at all. Play goes on, they score a goal. Mike Dean rather kindly brings play back so as to sent off Ryan, while obviously allowing the goal that was scored after the said incident to stand. Not making excuses for the heads that dropped and the disgusting display, but it takes a special kind of ref to interpret that tackle as deliberately dangerous with intent to injure. That made the historic night. Roll on a season later, and due to a massive injury crisis a hot headed youngster is making his debut does something utterly stupid after 79 seconds. Hammering incoming. No excuses. But at 6-0 Mike Dean decides that our player has committed a foul that leads to a penalty and red card. VAR ushers him over. He looks, he doesn't really care, he's always right and sends him off. Another 9-0. So I'll say again. History tells us we hold a record, but I always point the finger towards the man who seeks attention, Mike Dean. Without him, neither is possible.
  25. Neither game was a 9 unless Mike Dean is there. So, its a stain, but it doesn't play heavily on my mind. Anyone with any understanding of football understands this. We were shit, but it took the perfect storm to make it a record result.
