  1. Some good signings this window, clearly an intention to step up. Looks like we've signed two new strikers (Dean and Kraft) and two midfielders (Peplow and Pike). International experience (at senior and junior levels) and WSL experience too. According to the website we have a friendly on Sunday away at Forest, will be interesting to see how we line up (if we get any updates). And to maybe peak some more fans' interest, Pike is most certainly easy on the eyes
  2. Absolutely this. The leauge may be forking out massive amounts of money to the players, but that doesn't build a league anyone is going to care about. I can't imagine there are many people who will back a specific team (or even be able to name them) and follow the league. For me it sits alongside the smaller cricket franchise leagues. If it is being shown on a channel I already pay for, I might watch to see if there is a familiar face, but I won't watch for more than a minute or two, and I certainly won't care about it. As for Diallo, I think there is a tidy midfielder in there, but not suited to the English game or the level required.
  3. Will Carl Martin take over? He's been doing more with the first team the last couple of years, but I wonder if managing would be the preference.
  4. And Chelsea wanted rid of Pulisic (and needed rid too with FFP and their squad size) whereas we want to keep JWP. Supply and demand
  5. Is there a list anywhere for which games are which category, and what the prices then are?
  6. They're still hanging on in there at the moment!
  7. I was also thinking about if we kept both, if we could play them both. Neither looks like a natural third centre back if we play the system Swansea did, so the only option then is to push one forward. I wonder if Tino might work as an outside centre back because he is bigger than KWP and will presumably still bulk up as he continues to mature, but I'm not sure yet
  8. Thought the away kit looked really good against Benfica, seems to look really bright and distinct, and very clearly teal shorts and socks. Only negative seemed to be the numbers on the back being black, I guess they don't make them in the colour of the shorts
  9. Box midfields are the flavour of the month now so maybe he was ahead of his time!
  10. Why don't we have someone at the gates to the training ground seeing who is coming in or leaving, did anyone track any flights from Wales this morning, did anyone see him at some services buying a Burger King? What are we all playing at, we need boots on the ground until the window slams shut
  11. Posted a wonderfully timed 2 hours before she turned 18... Definitely think the sponsor looks better on the men's version this time.
  12. We also need to see what cliques form so that we can establish who the outsiders are, and therefore almost certainly the players being sold.
  13. I didn’t go to the Swindon away game so I didn’t see us play in the competition as champions sadly. Back to Hampshire, we need to just wrap Ellis and Turner in cotton wool for the week and make sure Vince is feeling good for Saturday.
  14. What a lovely position to be in that we can moan about winning so much! I said earlier in the season, might be the only time in my life I’ve seen a team I support play as reigning champion of the competition they’re in
  15. Terrifyingly fast bowling, if he can stay fit for the last 3 tests we might be able to bring it back.
  16. I think they're being naïve thinking that people aren't watching women's football because the 3pm game isn't televised. If it is the only football on, I'll watch it because I'm getting to recognise lots of the players now and I enjoy the competition. The reality is though, 3pm on a Saturday I'm normally going to be watching Saints or out and about on away weekends. The bigger issue is the scheduling of the games overall, which should accommodate better the reality that the majority of fans of women's football are families and existing fans of the men's team. To me it seems straightforward- you have women's matches at the stadium when the men's team are playing away, so that any fans who aren't travelling can go.
  17. I'd have him in the side to do what Billy Sharp did for us last time we came up, be around the box as much as possible and just finish off moves.
  18. Georgie Freeland has signed for Pompey now, a drop back to semi-pro but hopefully the right step for her to get more minutes. Haven't seen anything to suggest that Pusey or Williams have been signed yet. Watling announced not long ago that she's pregnant so she might not sign with a new team until she's had the baby and recovered.
  19. Wood's contract is just for this year, for white-ball only, so I suspect we'll keep an eye on Wheal's recovery, and either bring Wood back for another year if needed or let him go entirely next year.
  20. Hadn't appreciated how absolutely stacked the Lancashire team is this year, the timing of the competition seems to mean they have all their England white-ball players. I think we've shown so far this year, that we can beat any team or lose to any team, doesn't seem to matter what is put in front of us. We seem to have a nicely settled 11 now though, with Albert and Prest the only obvious choice to be made. Having Ellis and Turner is a joy to watch, and I'll never tire of Vince's batting
  21. I imagine it is really easy for him, if he turns sideways and spreads his legs wide he's at both ends anyway
  22. The old cliche that we could play for 100 minutes under Strachan (especially in the cup run) and then when he was gone barely made it past 80. Watching this game back Beattie looked fired up for this one, what a striker he was. (I have a personal theory that if Beattie had gone to Euro 2004 in place of Vassell then we would have won it)
  23. Are the club paying you for your marketing survey? I'll be waiting until it is reduced in price later in the season and then see. I do really like the long sleeve, but that seems to only be available with Sportsbet when Starling would be my preference on the front. I guess I'll also wait and see what the away and third are like, as I'll probably only get one
  24. How many of those have been this season though, he's really finding excellent form at the moment
  25. Training merch should be shown tomorrow when players return. I assume we'll need an away kit for our trip to Goztepe on the basis they wear half red shirts and black shorts.
