I read it as him enabling some fundamentalist End Times scenario, so they get their their ideological payoff and Donald is the last president anyone gets. It's got that foreboding tone to it. In contrast, the idea to get an idea of the number of church goers and just add them to Trump's vote count, to save them having to vote, seems perfectly sane and a massive time saver. 🙂

Just think of the time lost to clean your slate, chalk a message, summon the messenger boy and send him out into the smog choked metropolis to deliver it! Where there are natural breaks, staff make full use of it to recharge, have the work/life balance that technology gives them, before getting on with the day.

Entirely possible. Beside all the bonuses for not putting in a request and being with the club for set lengths of time, he may well be looking for some/most/all of a wage packet taken care of as well. All of which means it will drag out a bit.
