They probably look great in training. But then, the only keepers and defence that would have trouble with them, are ours. π
-
Charles air shot. Sums up our efforts really.
-
Downs not on the end of a header. Jander bizarrly gives them the ball back, and we were lucky not to gret punished from it. Doens;t look as though we've kept up training from corners. Sinking back into that lack of urgency. Playing the ball by the numbers rather than with any desire. Bright Moment: Stephens having a shot, and getting a corner from it.

More possession, without really threatening. Laboured in possession. Taking ages to get a move going, resulting in Hull having no problems getting into a defensive shape. At a goal down, we're going to have to break them down, but won;t bother them at that pace. Hulls' team is a Championship one, built on their available pennies to build as best they can. It's got solid Championship names in there, with experience and working as a unit. SR have given us a Championship team built for player trading more than where we don't have the experience, teamwork or the best players we could have in key positions. Well done SR. Good moments: Stephens gave us 3 seconds of moving from defence into midfield. That was about as uncomfortable as it got for Hull, as their shape had issues in compensating. Downs was through from a good pass, but put it wide. We slowly were getting a few balls into the box late on in the half. Nothing driven in or difficult to deal with.

Got promoted from this division with someone. π

Doctor Frankenstein looked at his new creation. "Well now I know what not to do, the only thing that can go wrong next time is if it falls on it's head. Even then, I bet I can get Saints to sign him... I'll call that one Vestergaard."
-
Stephens sees some space... and actually moves into it. What's this... he strides into the midfield, and Hull have to drop back to pick up defensive positions... we look capable for a second and we get an actual attack. Comes to nothing obviously, but finally a moment of forward thinking though.

We get into their third: They are already there, because it's taken us an age to get up there, and we have no momentum. They get the ball in our third and have runners, and we seem to fall back to make blocks from being on the back foot. That seems to be our season so far. It's very poor

Faced with looking for movement from his own team, THB ends up hoofing it out. We are incredibly slow in getting our moves started. The paciest moments are when we try to play RussBall, and we know that wasn;t quick a lot of the time. We just have no drive, pottering around hoping that their defence falls over, rather than pushing at them. That said, we've lumbered into their third a few times in recent minutes. The Downs effort that should have been on target, and a shot there from Fellows that was no where. Downs just giving away a freekick when it would have been our corner. >sigh<

Downs puts it wide.... that was a good chance.
-
I hope we don't jeopardise having double the passes, by trying to be attacking to get a goal or something.

2 of them failing to get on that header and a baz parry out for them to tap it in.

Although goalless, the game got better, with a good second half from both sides, and a flurry of activity before the end. VA had a good creative 1 on 1 only to have the defender take the ball from the attacker's feet at the last. A bit of hesitancy 20mins later stopped another excellent chance following a very good kick from the VA keeper. Between those two chances, VA shifted their approach, becoming more solid from the front back. While that left the captain an isolated figure, it also added to VA continuing to prevent Caen having any real space to operate in. The home side were reduced to some blocked shots from well drilled defenders, and a header in the first half that could have been better. Their best effort rattled the bar. Courtet hadn't got a free kick, and overly moaned while sitting down. He then raced back to win a tackle. But then stopped, as if vindicating himself for not getting the free kick. He was static when VA were looking for an outball. They promptly lost possession and the ranged effort had beaten Louchet. Just a snapshot of the captain's game. One where he puts in a real shift, supports others but doesn't look likely to get a goal himself. Some late subs gave VA a closing flourish, preventing Caen from putting too much pressure on the game. VA will be pleased with that point. Caen do look as though they've operated as a unit at a higher level than VA. That's the bridge for SR recruitment to cross. How to get enough players of that standard to take the step down. VA had more structure tonight. They still lack as a unit up front. Some solo runs didn't have support. There weren't many attacking link ups worrying the home side. But that was balanced by more solidity, and waiting to spring counter attacks. 10th: 5 points off 3rd and 4 off relegation. Not where they'd want to be. But some signs of progress in the last two.

Before a black van picks him up for another beating, he can stand in rags on any street corner and say what he likes. So really nothing impinging his free speech.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

Jumped the gun in announcing the party, not included in the way she expected, sets up unauthorised although not dodgy, just awkward, fundraiser and rather burns bridges with the "sexist boys club" or SBC as it will appear on ballots. Great to see Comrade Corbyn's party getting off to solid party political beginnings of infighting and early purges to come. -
...and shinier, collectable belt buckles.

Looking forward to two of the three being replaced with little planes, signifying the one in-one out deal. π They savage far fewer people than you'd think too. I'm having doubts about their authenticity. -
Same as every other time.

Keyser SΓΆze did what to our team?!

I think it's great of our club to offer all of our goalkeepers in support of their set back, while we get an emergency loan in for a decent, I mean replacement, one of our own. π

Hopefully, he doesn't have the other Shane Long super power, and stays onside. π

If it is the will of the people.
