This is a hold over from Nathan Jones' time too. He said it's harder to play against 10, when we got beaten by Wolves. SR, being the innovators they are, simply took it to the next level, and decided to field 9 men teams. 🙂

Like the new avatar, by the way. 🙂

Yeah. Lots of possible moves. Bednerak had interest, THB could easily go if our price is met, and ABK could hopefully be sold/get a loan fee for. Stephens is fine to be a squad player, who gets plenty of Championship minutes, if not a starter. I'd not be extending the contract until we see how things pan out though.

Be sure not to show them your posts on here at interview. You'd not want football knowledge stopping you working with SR. 🙂

Thanks for that. It's a results business, and it's been...well, you'll have your own adjective to use to describe it. Another reminder of SR's lurching approach between ideas. One thing is an utter failure, but let's "frenchify" it. As the article says, there's lots of change over the summer, so getting this stuff aligned quickly in the background, can only be a good thing.

I hope so too. Obviously, we'd have more comfort in that, if we knew how extensive his software engineering background, vital for SR hires, was. 🙂 Still, he ticks the 777 box.

Just to show that it doesn't matter what game you're watching, how exciting and enjoyable it is, or how talented the players, Saints related trauma is never far from the surface. Send £9.99 a month so we can put Saints fans through intensive MLG goal replay therapy, until the dark moments retreat. 🙂

He'll be company for the Dorking manager when SR hire Marc White. "We need promotion, and hardly anyone has as many promotions, self or footballing, than Marc," said a SR spokesperson. "With such success, Marc has taken the title as best pound for pound manager in Europe, and that's always been a SR focus. With his banking and marketing background, Marc will also assist in transitioning Southampton FC into a player trading data hub, and E-Sports franchise."

Sadly, the dosage required to blot out the season would be dangerously high. 🙂

1) The way you term the role, it's some way off where the person had come from. So, I was asking a question. 2) Many people have multiple roles, providing income. 3) I wonder if he's peeked at his PA 🙂

Hi! We're Holmes and Watson. We're just back from the future, where we stopped a HG Wells inspired Moriarty, in a dreadful TV movie. While we were there, we looked at this thread. The next 2 dozen posts were MLG arguing that, since Cooper was in charge, it's unfair to say he didn't keep them up. Another 2 dozen counter posts pointed out the trajectory of the club, it's goals and push back against Cooper. It all ends badly, and Lighthouse has to put it in the Lounge. So, I thought I'd spare everyone the pain.

Yesterday, it was @lambtiss and @miserableoldgit that were looking to be added to an ignore list. Last week there was a list of several others. Today, there could be more volunteers. Do you know what the entry level (which you describe this as) salary is for a video scouts? Entry level software engineer at his previous employer is over 40k (source: first result in search). You'd leverage experience to push that up to a more realistic starting grade of approx 45k. Possibly, as discussed with prior video scouts hires, they may have other income streams to make up the deficit. Speaking of which, would you be adding stats for RDF Tactics into FM?
-
Yeah. We took them into the last part of the game with a chance of getting an equaliser. They were doing well at that point, so even the chance of dropping 2 points was seen as a Martin masterclass by Pep.
-
We're learning to live with it. 🙂
-
If we're still paying Russ, can we get him back to shake Pep's hand before the game? Normally, rerunning Nate's self indulgent masterclass video v City would be enough. But I worry our team might be in something of a slump, and need that extra edge.

And as SR work their way through all the managers in the lower leagues, one day they'll trip over one of them. 🙂

Using Mowbray as an example, having a multi levelled structure, with fluid job specs between clubs can make it difficult to determine just how capable/ successful someone really is. Evolving scouting reports, data analysts, the software they use and third party or in house competency would all play a part. A person at the head of recruitment may not have the time to turn round the structure, either being tied to old models/ skills within a club, be part of a wider decisions making group, and lots of other constraints. Keeping FM in mind, along with ourselves, we had Ross Wilson. Going well with us, until it wasn't. Going well with Rangers for a bit, but strongly criticised at the end. Perhaps not there at the start of Forest's overhaul, but certainly part of recent windows and their success. Now if you were going to tie that into his current ability, it would be all over the place. But keeping them within the FM guidelines of staff at top clubs, would presumably keep it more level. The same would apply to Spors. He's been part of several large clubs, and groups, and has brought people in to support him. I think we all can see plenty of obstacles in the way. So, keeping some perspective is important. Wilson got abuse at Rangers because their budget needed everyone to be a financial hit, while also being able to deliver immediate on field success, on a very modest budget.
-
In your opinion, given the scientific skills underpinning an evolving data analysis industry, does FM reflect it well? Does having such skills available, either in house or outsourced, add anything for a club in game, or is it window dressing?
-
At no point have I dismissed the skills, application or goal of anyone to take on a video scouting role. On the contrary, my posts have been in response to you sniffly giving the impression they were beneath you ( your educational career coming unstuck minutes later by not being able to count to two, and containing errors you're first to pull others up for).

Are you really going to adding a line about Barclays?

Aye. Back in our day, you could just stand at gate 'o the pit. The lad that wasn't coughing up blood got signed in the midfield for Saturday. 🙂
