If true, then he deserves a big telling off...privately, because those things although normal for young blokes, do effect your development as an athlete and player... If he has an isue with Wotte they need to sit down and sort it out, but the media and agent pressures interfere too often for normal rational service to resume...

I doubt this information is totally accurate and if anything maybe one of teh biggest reasons we are heading down the toilet as a country is the obsession with rumour, gossip and hearsay which is too often treated as fact. Weston knows he family well, and I have met them at SMS, down to earth normal decent folk and unlikely to have installed taht kind of attitude in a decent young bloke... Seems to me its this kind of comment that might lead young playesr to want away - the moment they have a bad spell we knock them down after building them up... Adams poorer performances

Cheers for the update Ron... I for one hope he decides to stay - and appreciate that Agents often play an unwelcome role in these things. He has the potential to go on and do good things and i hope that with the excitement generated by the new ownership the security that comes with that and the example shown by the likes of Big Kelv he can see the futures Bright and its RED and White! Come on Adam - I you know you really want to be playing Premiership football....but think how much better it will feel in a few years in a Saints shirt!

That is fair enough, but some seem intent on actually adding to tarnihing his reputation out of spite... seems rather bitter and twisted to me, especially in light of the good news we had .

Not naive, just gracious in victory? There is no NO NEED apart from a few folk looking to sling some mud which will achieve exactly SWEET FA... why this need to trample on folk when they are undoubtedly already wounded is beyond me thats all... so in this respect I actually agree with ALPs! FFS must be all that good will going round... See what good news can do ;-)

He is also quite outspoken - great for a media role, but could be a bit dangerous if there was ever disagreement with the hierachy?

Maybe he saw that Pic of Bridge at Coles wedding in Hello last month - (no I dont read it, but it was in teh waiting room when my car was getting its service...) she was probably the type of 'lady' that you mean - well certainly on the gazuma front.

Sometimes uin life we should count our blessings - appreciate what we have and the good fortune that got us there and rise above the need to constantly dig dirt and through more bodies from the cliffs.... Why do we need a fall guy now? With teh new ownesr comes a new dawn and WHAT good does it do and WHAT does it say about our lust for blame and victims that we feel we should pursue the pinnacle matter? I ahve no doubt that Tony Lynam was well intentioned and commited to a deal - Bring in MLT gave him a very public profile for representing teh bid and was probably a master stroke of PR designe dto engae with Fans AND demonstrate committment to entice potential backers. I have no idea what went wrong or why, but in ANY business acquisition things can go wrong and do go wrong for a variety of reasons - it happens, its normal, and although disspointing for all involved, is a perfectly normal part of the process. TL had to things going against him... the Whacko Jacko bid that has always meant we are as fans verys suspicious of the local businessman (who does not have the 100s of millions to hand), and all the previous tyre kickers.... His mistake was quite simple - The public discussion of the bid. If going public, it HAS to be everything, the full story, not hints and teasers as these lead to speculation and more important given that Le Tiss was involved meant our expectations soared the fall from grace was going to be so much greater. Duncan refers to the fact that this bid may have jeopodised another or delayed completion which endangered employees positions and has seen 2 players leave - the playesr well probably off anyway, but te staff situation is a serious one. I have no doubt that with the benefit of hindsight the Swiss may have concluded in quicker time, but this is the nature of the process, and from what I have heard it was not for teh lack of trying and effort on MLTs and TLs part that they wer unable to complete. Fantasists and Dreamers? No, I dont think so, backers maybe not tied down or caveats in teh agreements (such as teh removal of the -10 points ?) most likely, but this is something that happens all the time. For me I thank TL for his effort, and MLT for believing. Afterall as we have FINALLY seen , really SERIOUS interset is NOT put off by rival bids - they just go about things, make their preparations and have bottles lined up should they get the opportunity... the Swiss were in no hurry as its long term plan the key was gettig the deal right. So yes TL can be maybe criticised for the public teaser communications which did him no favours in the end, buty cant we just for now enjoy the fact we have new owners, the staff are safe there is a plan. Schardenfruede and muck raking would show none of us in any great light, especially given the good news we had yesterday....

OK I will be the first to admit i have been critical of Crouch for what IMHO have been errors of judgement - BUt certainly done with the right reasons, and also for his big gob at time when he should have taken better counsel...BUT I will also give praise where its due to him for his contributions that have had a Very practicaol impact on staving off worse fianancial melt down - myy only point though would be be do we know for 100% certainty what he contributed? Did anyone ever get the truth on the Pinnacle deposit?

Can I suggest that we judge on actions going forward not folks previous under diffrent circumstances ? The new regime deserve a fair crack...

Loyalty is priceless - Kelvin you have our utmost respect. Herr Liebherr obviously undersatnds somethings about our club a lot better in 5 minutes in charge than others who had years... Brilliant news. To those 'unexited by his resigning - please remember what divison we are in FFS - We are NOT going to attract World class players - but keeping hold of a very good and loyaly commiteed and experienced keeper is a bloody good thing and sends a very strong and positive message to staff and players alike. Kelin may not be a World Class Keeper, but his attitude is certainly FIRST class - top man

Think one of the reasons you dont see many true Legends in the Ted bates mould - is because its actually quite rare for the same person to be a great player, a great manager and a great administrator/business leader - its why we hold the exceptions such as Ted in such high regard. Too often, fans especially get a bit misty eyed about all this because they like the IDEA of say an MLT following suit - I am not saying he could not but so far he has just covered the player bit with no guarrantees that he could do the same as a chair or director. NOt sure how he was or If he was taken in, and its easy to speculate - sometimes in business people DO just change their minds, and I cant believe Tony Lynam did not genuinely believe they had the makings of a credible bid when they set out... whether they should have continued when it was obvious the funds dissappeared is another matter - perhaps the wisest move would have been to stand aside and let the Swiss complete earlier - an extra two weeks and we could have avoided selling players. For me it suggest again that teh -10 thing was a delaying tactic as they desperately tried to get backers back on board - or they had found one who would only go ahead if the -10 was over turned? Sure it will all come out in teh wash.

Where does this move put the Trust etc..?
Frank's cousin replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
The 2009 Saints Supporters Club - roll up roll up - join here by sending me £10 for life membership Club Mission statement To gain as high as possible membership (and as much cash) Purpose To let the club know how we feel on all issues - the quality of the Rossti in the concourses etc. To self appoint me as chief spokesperson for the entire fanbase. Everytime I speak publically I will do so with the strongest possible mandate that I speak for all fans... especially when congratualting the club for improving teh quality of the Rossti and two fried eggs on top in the concourse despite the -380 points we started the season on Board My friends ;-) with apologies to the Trust - it was meant in a friendly way! -
NOt sure - way I see it if the FL consider SLH and SFC tone and the same - the deal to sell SLH assets can ONLY have been done with teh agreement (essentially a sCVA) of teh major creditors Barclays and AVIVA) as such I think we are home free - however - the slight worry is that i am sure the FL rules are still a little ambiguous as they can apply points deductions if they feel a club has gained a significant sporting advantage by having its debts cleared - not sure if there are any specific details on this but its how that statemnet from teh FL read when fans were emailing the FL...
-
Yes but this could in effect be referring to the boardroom and senior staff, not the football 'managment' etc - had he meant that being continental he would surely have said 'coaching set up'...
-
Dont get paranoid - stakeholders is a normal expression for all those with an interest in the clubs success - fans, staff, players, management, community etc and naturally him and his family...
-
Certainly Wotte does not Earn a right to stay because of behavining in a dignified manner - that is afterall what ALL staff should show in such a situation, even if they decided to leave when their contract was up. What will earn him the right is results and good management - I think he has earned teh bnefit of the doubt and should be given a chance to demonstrate what he can do if building his own side, because of hjis loyalty, but results as with all managers are what counts - the tricky thing is HOW LONG you give someone to build a side and get them to gell... and thats where we all disagree really for ome it ont be good enough if we have not won at least 50% of games by Christmas, others will be expecting play offs some merely happy with slow progress....

Uhm - I fully appreciate the romanticism of having our legends involved, but its not necessary and can be counter productive. LM is known for being stong willed and opinionated and will it really help if the new owners want to do their thing with LM going on about how things have been done in the past - in an era when football was different - Happier with MLT, but what experience can he offer in terms of club direction - he has not been involved in the business and commercial side of clubs since he retired so it would have to be the right role. His Pinnacle involvement may have scuppered his chances though. TBH, independent advice without Saints weight of history could be the best bet. We cant afterall recreate the 70s or 80s - as the game has changed so much especially commercially... we want a new era we new opportunity really...IMHO
-
Dont wory toopmuch about Norwich Union - the fact that they take a loss is possible because you ahve tio add the interest they have received over time as well... so they arenot too much out of pocket...
-
Hopefully we have all learned abit over these last 36 months or so....

Hard work and patience - fair and honest if you ask me... sounds good.... cant stop grinning

HE HE ; - respect

Hey! ;-) well with the news we have had just now on teh takeover, I'll let you ahve that one ! ;-) Way too happy to worry about the past!
-
Been given a fair degree of stick and to be fair some of it has been deserved given that information was scarce and pinnacle looked so promising yet fell at the final hurdle - the actual parting of cash. Now we have a new owner who is totally NEW and from the looks of things the deal included SMS the training ground and the club. OK we dont know the details of Mr Liebherr's strategy, but whatever it involves I think we can at least go forward united by a positive future, rather than divided by the past... Herzlich Wilcommen Herr Liebherr!
