"Arrogant"...?...corpy-ho-ho-ho that's a diamond. I'm losing count these days as the self-proclaimed "bestest fans in the world" go on about being where they "belong"...and you really couldn't have been around in the 80s leading up to your return back to "where we belong" and what you were gonna do when you got there....oh dear. Latest WSC if any are interested...
-
Let's hope not then.

Not too bad if this is anything to go on (gonna hammer down in Southampton!)... http://weather.virginmedia.com/regional.php?region=South+East&town=London Cup Final weekend '76 was probably the worst of the whole scorching summer that year, I can't remember it being so bad at Wembley a few weeks later for the Charity Shield tho'. League Cup Final '79, snowed all week, ZDS and Cardiff p*ssed it down most of the day...even rained the day Totton went to Wembley! Bring on Sunday.

Was I the only one who watched those incoherent skates humiliating thamselves on SSN this morning, trying and failing, miserably, to explain their campaign with the pink scarves? They were p*ssing themselves laughing in the studio! Still, at least a big Chelski support guaranteed a rare full-house at little ol' fartton last night.....oh.................................

I can't remember having ever played Wigan in Matt Le Tiss' time? Anyways, don't underestimate 'little' Carlisle, they've always had a 'nawty' mob follow them around (and England - known as 'BCF' a few years back) so they'll always be some who'll take umbrage to a few oppos in with 'em - as there would with us. So act sensible and if someone taps you on the shoulder and introduces himself as 'Mr Dodds'.........

Saw this on the Swindon OS the other day... £199 behind the goal, adult price for renewals and new buyers, also whether League One or Championship. £259 down the sides, very generous. (playing/beating us in that pic btw)
-
Surprisingly for Juve, actually only 40,200 (to be picky) ...I'd still prefer this myself, keeps our 'Kop'...
-
Just had a look on the Swindon OS to see how they're building up for the game and the first thing you see is a big ad for their 2010/2011 Season Tickets.
-
In the late 70s/early 80s they wanted to shut down 'The Warrens', many believe the 'Battle with Millwall' was a set-up. It worked. Warrens RIP.
-
"Local Derby"? :smt119 Never heard of a "local derby" 120 miles apart! Brighton 60 miles, Wycombe, Swindon, Brentford 65 miles-ish, they're the closest but none "local" derbies. Anyways, 31,000 a great attendance for third tier football - that's our fourth home attendance this season around the 30k mark.
-
Are we gonna have the first 'football hooligans' going down for 'fence rattling'? 'Free The Freeborn Frontline!' The campaign starts here.
-
This. Then build a shiny new train station to service the stadium and revamped waterfront, Mr Liebherr can buy up the warehouses behind the Chapel to build some nice big hotel, apartments, etc. to make a few bob. Simples.
-
But we were given 44k tickets, Carlisle initially 24k, more if required, and how many does 'Club Wembley' accomodate, 10-15k? That's around 80k before any extras Carlisle could have asked for. That suggests capacity is allowed for the JPT. The issue with Saints getting no more tickets aint because the stadium is on restricted capacity, it's because of (over-comable) 'segregation' issues.
-
But...letting the skates out at the same time the Itchen were piling out and heading straight into them was a massive schoolboy error. There could have been little doubt that that was gonna cause an 'ugly' confrontation...and guess what... I'd agree big questions should be asked of Hants OB whose decision caused this particular situation. Maybe they need to learn from northern derbies and make a stipulation of buying a ticket goes hand-in-hand with coach travel so all away fans are delivered direct to the stadium and taken away en masse after. If you come from outside the area tough, if you want a ticket... Personally I wouldn't want that but that's the only way if you want stop it.
-
It looks like the only area of extra seats Saints could possibly ask for is in the south east corner on the top level. It would just be a continuation of a Saints area on round so segregation in the seating wouldn't be any different had Carlisle sold them all the way up to our section. It could only be that they can't separate that part of the concourse and/or turnstiles. But it comes back to the question, how do they manage it with England?
-
They originally received 37,500 tickets and got an extra allocation to 44k. The 50k you hear banded about eminates from their fans, possibly true when you consider, like our lot, they were snapping up Club Wembley seats.
-
http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10367~1658745,00.html Their official site quotes 37,500. I've heard some Millwall fans claiming they had nearly 50k there but probably talked up - tho' I'm sure, like us, many of theirs got 'Club Wembley' tickets.

As provided by 'Minime' on the St Marys expansion thread... Would be nice.

Good on yer lads. Enjoy the day and here's hoping you're right about the score!

Can't see why some feel they need to chose between their club and the national side. When Saints, my club, play there's no-one else, when it's England, my country gets my 100% support. Come the World Cup I'll back my country with a passion equal to that of my club, if they win it I can't believe I would feel any less elation than what I'd feel with Saints lifting a major trophy (probably not the JPT tho!). How does it go...English by birth, Southampton by the grace of God.
