  1. Is it greedy to want just one more in? A quality CB on loan and we'd be all set I think. Absolutely buzzing about our chances now...what a transfer window this has turned out to be. The Sharp signing shows me that we really are going for it. COYR
  2. Fantastic news - my next game is WHU away, can't wait to see him and Sir Rickie tear them a new one. We must have the most formidable forward line in the Championship now?
  3. Absolutely thrilled by this news. The player I wanted us to get at the start of January. He is a proven goalscorer and I think he'll strike up a good partnership with Rickie. Just what we need to give the team a boost. Welcome to Saints Billy. I assume he can't play tomorrow night? Which is a shame.
  4. DAVIS RICHARDSON FONTE MARTIN FOX PUNCHEON MORGAN CORK LALLANA/DE RIDDER LAMBERT GULY That would do nicely. As others have said, I think the outcome depends on us taking an early lead, too many times in recent games we've started sluggishly and been punished (where we weren't punished earlier in the season) we can't afford to let that happen tomorrow. COYR
  5. I also agree, Sharp is the player I wanted us to sign at the start of January. No reason why Sharp couldn't make the step up to the Prem with us. I mean, who would have thought players like Hammond, Chaplow etc would be in with a chance of Prem football next year? If he fits into the team then there's no reason he won't develop further with us. Get it done Nicola.
  6. What the same Brum that we battered 4-0 at the beginning of the season? They were one of the poorest sides I've seen this season. They probably thought we'd run away with it after we played them. Form can change in an instant as we well know. Also, you must be kidding about Leicester? They are 7 points away from the play offs altogether...they played well on Monday but are a long way from being they most likely to go up through the play-offs! If we can beat Cardiff then I'm confident we will go up in top 2. The main contenders for me are WHU, us and Cardiff - Brum will fade away imo.

    Gary Hooper

Oh well Hooper was never going to happen - let's go get Sharp now.
  8. Did nige give an interview? Any update on transfers?
  9. Annoying to have let it slip with so little time remaining but not a bad result all things considered. Keeps everyone nice and fresh for a crucial one on Tuesday and glad to see Lambo back amongst the goals.
  10. Agreed. Should have won us the game.
  11. We do not need a replay. COYR
  12. 1-1 **** - had been coming
  13. Exactly.
  14. Holmes should have made it 2-0, terrible miss.
  15. Sounds like he's made a good start already! Maybe he's being lined up for a start vs Cardiff?
  16. WHey Lee on for Barnard. Let's see what he looks like.
  17. Yes, but they've also got Noel Hunt, Simon Church, Matheiu Manset and Adam Le Fondre at the club already. So with Roberts they've got 5 strikers at least. They won't be in for Sharp.
  18. Yeah they signed Jason Roberts and Tomaz Cyska (sp) who both play in a forward role so I'd find it difficult to believe they were signing Sharp too - hope not anyway as I want us to sign him. If we did the squad would look really strong.
  19. Surely if our business was finished he'd have said so. Also, 'watch this space' tends to imply there will be something to see. Hence, the interpretation that we might be in the market for someone else. That's certainly how I saw it.
  20. I think/hope it's sharp they are talking about.
  21. It's because he wanted the no.8 shirt but it was already taken if I recall.
  22. It'll just be the normal pre-match press call - they are always held on Thursdays. Wont be Sharp signing but Nige might be asked about it.
  23. An extremely accurate assessment.
  24. Its being discussed on Northstand Chat at the moment - not from football rumours but a lot of talk on Twitter. Could be a load of rubbish though, I can't see any reason why they would want him!
  25. I find him pretty frustrating to watch to be honest - agreed he's done better away than at home where he only gets a short time to impress. If he could cross he'd be our most dangerous player by far but he just can't. He has pace and runs at players which is a definite plus but his decision making and crossing is just atrocious. He's definitely more of an off the bench impact man and when all our players are fit he wouldn't be in my first XI. That being said, I think a lot of the flack he is getting started after he didn't square it against Blackpool to give us the win!
