  1. Not that I wouldn't have preferred him on the pitch, but arguably we played better once Lambo went off...
  2. Has to be sharp. Was quality today
  3. Werent brilliant today but got the job done. Delighted for sharp and thought he was very good today. Ran around, chased the ball down, got in good positions and two well taken goals. Good that we can win without rickie on the pitch. Two things stood out though, butterfield wasn't great and Richardson is a far better player. Also though SDR was pretty awful, even a half fit Chaplow has to start ahead of him. Steve is fine as an impact sub but never does it from the off. His touch was just awful in the first half.
  4. Well said that man. Whatever anyone's belief a man has miraculously survived a traumatic experience. Who really cares how the people closest to him rationalise it?! Think coyle has handled it brilliantly and should be praised as should everyone else involved. Sure this event carries with it more press coverage but it happened on live tv whilst millions watched. To be expected. The moaning on here is at best unnecessary and at worst completely disrespectful to all those who had far greater a connection and relationship with the guy than anyone on here.
  5. This team is the one I'd go with. Though I'd be sorely to start sdr and go for it from the off!

    Chaplow

What a load of nonsense. At this stage of the season it's about points not performances. And we are doing the business at the moment. As for the squad...if your not happy with the depth or quality of ours then your expectations of a squad for a team in this league are totally unrealistic!
  7. Jeez there really is no pleasing some. If he'd shot and missed you'd be saying he should have passed. He made a good run and had the awareness to cross resulting in a vital pen sparking potentially the most important comeback of the season. But no...not an impact at all. For goodness sake!
  8. Hasn't exactly had a chance to show us what he can do yet has he? Lets not write him off too hastily eh?
  9. 1-0 Saints HT keep it going lads.
  10. I presume you thought exactly the same thing last year when Hudds were breathing down our necks? Hudds pushed us EVEN closer than WH and Reading are doing and we still made it. I think/hope (touch wood) that the current team are made of sterner stuff. The Saints of old wouldn't have beaten Leeds or clawed it back at Millwall in such dramatic fashion. Believe. We can do this.
  11. Sitting next to the T.Lee fan club, don't have the heart to tell them he's injured...
  12. Unbelievable that guly up front ahead of sharp! In the ground now and just heard. What is going on with billy?
  13. I hope not.
  14. Time for Sharp to take his chance...I have a feeling he will and will get amongst the goals on Saturday.
  15. A win would also mean that Leeds have confidence going into the game against WHU this weekend.

    Leave off guly

Much much better in the second half. In the first half he was dreadful...much too casual and his passes just didn't find the target at all. Was pleasantly surprised with is performance in the second though so good on him for that.
  17. He did **** all because he was only on for ten minutes and we had already shut up shop and we knocking it round midfield and the back. He didn't exactly have much time to do anything. For the record I agree with Sour Mash, thought he looked fired up, a bit more pacey and held the ball up well. Clearly itching to get back in the team.
  18. So he was very very poor yet did two crucial things? Thats an oxymoron if ever I saw one. He was fine today, set up the first goal brilliantly and caused Barnsley no end of bother as they had 2/3 people marking him at all times. He wasn't up to his usual standards, but thats to be expected. But 'very very poor'...no, just no.
  19. This is my position exactly. There's making a good run, and there's making a run which is capable of being picked out!
  20. Pires? That's one of the stranger comparisons I've heard...surely Pires goal scoring prowess was what made him the player he was...you can hardly say that about Morgan!
  21. Wouldn't have given Lee an 8. Did brilliantly for the second goal but other than that I wasn't that impressed. In the first half he got knocked off the ball a lot, miscontrolled it and should have hit it rather than setting it up for Guly in the area. Second half he was better but ALWAYS offside - perhaps because we weren't picking out his runs but still he needs to stay onside. Thought Sharp looked a bit better than against Ipswich when he came on a bit faster and strong holding the ball up, don't think you could call him 'quiet' when he only had 10 minutes and we had the game won - all we wanted to do was knock it around the back rather than going forward so he didn't exactly have any chance. Thought Lallana was by far the best player on the pitch today, closely followed by Fox who I thought was quality. Did brilliant to win the ball high up the pitch in some dangerous positions.
  22. Great news.
  23. Very disappointing to lose the lead, especially with Reading winning but it is still in our own hands admittedly with a bit more pressure on us. A win against Barnsley and everything could have changed - who knows what Reading will do vs Leicester? Its in our own hands..don't panic just yet everyone there is a long old way to go.
  24. For goodness sake, last week it was Birmingham who were going to win the league at a canter with us dropping down into the playoffs and now they are 5th and we are top! I swear that there has to be one 'unstoppable' challenger from below otherwise this forum would go into some kind of melt down. Yes last night was very disappointing given that Reading won, but there is still a long way to go. We are still in the driving seat and if we do our job properly then we will go up in the top 2. Teams will come at us and then fade away like Brum did, but there have only been 2 teams consistently up there for the majority of the season and they are us and WHU. Who would have thought Brum would lose to Forest and then throw away a 2 goal lead at home to Derby - it just shows ANYTHING can happen in this league. I'd much rather have our run in than Reading's and I'm confident (touch wood) that they will drop points, just like Brum have done recently. No doubt if Boro or Blackpool come roaring back at the expense of Reading they will be likely league winners whilst we lose in the playoffs.... We will be fine.
  25. 2-0 Cardiff so poor don't know why we were worried. God I hate west ham
