Sitting in my freinds dad's Cortina somewhen in late 70's going to see Saints play at Notts Forest.

Your saying someone will REALLY pay 65p a share!
-
Jimmy Case's legs had gone by the time he joined Saints, but he was still a great player. You need a few older heads out there
-
Personally if Wotte can turn things around he'll have my support. However, IF he is successful how long will it work while Rupert cold fingers are still involved?

Had to spend all afternoon running the wife & kids around. Did'nt get near a radio.............WOOT!!!!

Right then..Who will do the job other than lowe

I'm still not convinced that Crouch is not the answer. Esp if he was actually given time to build a team around himself -
who wants us to go into admin and/or wotte to fail
WealdSaint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I don't want the club to go into administration. I don't want us to keep loosing so many home games. Lowe/Wilde/Wotte have had their way. They have failed, they have lost too many of their loyal paying customers. I will be sad if we loose on Saturday and happy if we win. If we suddenly win lots of matches then maybe the wounds will heal. Sadly I doubt it -
I think it will be harder for the academy to be successful in the future purely because our status as a football club has now sunk so low. If you had a promising 14yr old and the phone kept ringing would you go for Saints?

Any business that criticises its customers is in deep trouble...........IMHO

Mike Wilde..was it all worth it for you??
WealdSaint replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I suspect that Wilde bought 16% of Saints with money he did'nt really have (see other recent posts about his company accounts). With the cold winds of the downturn, he desperatly wanted to get as much money back from his Saints investment as possible, hence his sudden alliance with Rupert. I think that Rupert has promised a lot of people with shares in Saints that he was the man to save their investments. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Rupert tries to explain to them why everything has gone so terribly t*ts up!. -
Saints 2 - Preston 2. Preston pull back 2 late goals to destroy 75 mins of "well we are not down yet"

18p a share, surely now the time is right!!
WealdSaint replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
I have a feeling that all these trade we see are the same very small percentage (say 2%) of the shares being passed round & round & round again. The bulk of share haven't changed owner at all. Rupert (I guess) is still advising all his share holding mates to hang on as he'll tell them when is a good time to sell and is promising them that the club will not go into admin. My gut feeling is that Rupert will not put the club into admin unless there is no alternative. If he does so and looses all his "chums" money for them he will lose face & business contacts big time. If the club does go into admin it will be interesting where Rupert will put the blame, my guess will be the previous regime/s (conveniently forgetting that his "mate" Wilde was responsible for setting the most destructive regime in place). -
IF we had appointed a decent British manager after Portvliet
WealdSaint replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Not necessarily a British Manager, but promoting part of a failed team was just plain stupid. But then of course they were following form after removing Pearson -
He'll be gone before many of us have learned to say his name properly

Message to Askham,Wilde,Richards,Withers,Windsor-Clive
WealdSaint replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
The sad thing is that few of these leeches share even 1% of the passion of the average person on this board. Shame on them -
From memory many of us were uncertain about NP's appointment at the time, so the short term contract Crouch arranged seems very sensible. He would have been criticised (fairly for once) if we had gone down a league with a managers contract to pay off
-
Sadly the opportunity has passed. A new manger during January, a less controversial chairman and we might have had a fighting chance. Don't get me wrong, I'll be hoping against hope every remaining match, and I'll be as happy as anybody if we pull the rabbit out of the hat and stay up. But just can't see it. Sorry

Remeber "Luggy's lowdown" on the OS? To be fair to Sturrock he was not given enough time to be really judged here. I still remember nearly crashing the car at the start of that season when I heard Rupert on the radio talking about winning the premier league..........I suppose in an upside down world we did!

In some respects this is more depressing than our current home form

An Icelandic Millionaire will take over our club next Friday!
