  1. I believe the case is still going on. It didn't start today until 13:55 today http://twitter.com/#!/cSouthwark The latest on Lawpages is at 16:12 today And the case is scheduled for Court 7 again tomorrow http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T110628.01.htm The previous note about "Case Closed" was there from Friday afternoon and could mean "Prosecution Case Closed" (??) which would be about right - 4 weeks (start 31/May) into a 8 week case.
  2. Why change ? When Markus took us over he (? NC ?) said (Echo 8th July 2009) http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4479991.Markus_Liebherr_is_the__ideal_owner__for_Saints/
  3. I wonder what Mr Clott will moan about when he finds out he is due to miss the first 3 games of the season (2 league + 1 lc) (something like "it is completely unfair that suspensions are carried over", or will he try to cheat somehow). http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/~/link.aspx?_id=D6CA03B6740C4E78A1E74E2493E9199B&_z=z
  4. This newspaper said it was Millwall that raised the issue at the AGM http://www.southwarknews.co.uk/00,news,23662,5227,00.htm so perhaps "Brighton's tactics" were used more in the Championship last year. The Millwall OS also said they are wanting to do away with transfer windows. http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10367~2375406,00.html
  5. At the recent FL Agm in Cyprus they stated that the Financial Fair Play rules would start in the season 2012/13 (season after next), and that every Club would only be able to spend on Transfers & Wages (Expenses) what they took in in Income. The actual detail of how this was going to work out was to be agreed over the next 6 months but things like Acadamies would not be included in the Expense side. Now for EXAMPLE if Saints had a income of SAY £12M in L1 and as a Championship side that figure were to rise to something like £18M in a normal season. My understanding this would mean that from July 2012 (NOT the coming season) we could only spend £18M on wages + transfers. Therefore if the Club has a bright young star who is attracting bids of around £12M, then it important that he is KEPT until after July 2012 when the Transfer Fee would be included as Income in the 2012/13 season i.e. £18M + £12M = £30M (INCOME) or if spread over 2 years then £18M + £6M = £24M for both the 2012/13 & 2013/14 seasons. My understanding is that if he is sold NOW then although we could spend that money now (and anymore that the owners wanted to put in), the better players would come with HIGHER wages and by the time we get to the 2012/13 season and the introduction of the Financial Fair Play rules then the Expense side of the equation could be greater than the £18M income figure for that season, and we would need to sell more players to balance the equation even though we could have MANY Millions in the Bank. What this means is by selling him now Saints would probably get only ONE attempt at getting to the PL before those with parachute payments would have an advantage, whereas by keeping the bright young star for another season we could get THREE seasons to return to our rightful place. I am lead to believe that similar rules are being talked about for the PL and this could explain why the big clubs are buying big at the moment (Jones to manure, Henderson to pool etc) so that those Transfer Fees are not included in the income figure for future years only their wages.
  6. The Football League are saying "things were agreed in principle" ?? http://www.football-league.co.uk/footballleaguenews/20110610/fair-play-to-the-football-league_2293334_2374252/0,,10794,00.html
  7. Can I remind everyone that the Echo ran a headline on the 24th January saying "HE'S GUNNER GO......." Where they told everyone that he was GONE in the January Transfer Window. Towards the end of the article it said I think we all know Nicola is away in Cyprus at the moment at the Football League's AGM.
  8. As the Football League's AGM is currently going on in Cyprus at the moment and there has been various hints that there MAY be new rules restricting the amount of money that clubs can spent. I thought we should have a thread to discuss because there will probably be a number of issues resulting that MAY affect Nicola's 5 year Plan. Having said that we appear to be holding back ST money until the new financial year - 1st July (ONLY Club I know of) and I bet the new shirts will not be available until after that date as well. Anyhow I have found the 1st article (Paul Fletcher of the BBC) talking about the AGM. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2011/06/football_league_agm.html#291907 and before anyone questions the location Of course the CHEATS F.C. get a few mentions (@88 @91).
  9. Still going on in Southwark Crown Court 7 tomorrow. http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T110608.01.htm Monday (6th) there seemed to be some sort of issue with the servers (?) or something because the all the cases seem to start at exactly 13:28 whereas most had started earlier. The only entry from "InCourts" was a repeat of the final entry from Friday (http://incourts.co.uk/Daily/Monday/Southwark.html) so I think that might be residual info from friday http://incourts.co.uk/Daily/Friday/Southwark.html Today (7th) didn't start until 11:00 and "Lawpages" had something strange, it produced 2 entries for the same Court 7 case ? Which at one stage this afternoon said something about Witness 4. However there is another entry (with only PS) that just says Witness 6 has been sworn in this morning. http://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings-lists/Southwark-crown-court.php So I am not sure what is going on. ? Some of those entries could be the missing ones from Monday?? ? Why is there a entry for Storrieteller on his own (both were at court today I believe PS at 10:07 & MM at 11:08 ) ??? (MM changes sides ??, MM case dropped ??, Computer Error ??)
  10. Court 6 tomorrow for PLEA & CASE Management before Judge BURRELL Q.C at 10:00 http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthon_T110608.02.htm
  11. Summary of the Court Case Day 1 - Tuesday 31/5 Legal Submissions Day 2 - Wednesday 1/6 Day 3 - Thursday 2/6 Day 4 - Friday 3/6 from http://incourts.co.uk/Daily/Friday/Southwark.html (clock 1 hr out on 1st time) There was nothing posted after lunchtime on Friday, which could be for a number of reasons. Anyway it got me thinking who could be the Prosection witnesses, ? possible somebody from the Police raid in 2007 and then I thought whatever happen to that lady that was their Finance Director for a while -(I believe that was her name was something like Tayna Robins) is she still with the Cheats FC or has she left ??
  12. In the photos of the England players training at SMS. http://www.thefa.com/England/mens-under-21s/News/2011/Under-21s-training-southampton-gallery Is the 4th picture from the end (select the 4th white dot from the right) a picture of Jack with the Chapel seats spelling out "Saints" over his right shoulder ? As all the other pictures (15) are pictures of the players on the pitch, are they trying to tell us something with that picture ??
  13. I've looked back over my CC statements and these are the prices I have paid for my seat right behind the Chapel goal :- 2010 - £277.00 2009 - £240.00 2008 - Boycott against the Dark Lord. 2007 - £380.00 2006 - £469.00 2005 - £473.00. So I will paying the same next season as I paid in 2007 when Crouch & Co were in charge.
  14. Just a thought but has everyone considered that there may be a vote on important changes to the FL rules coming at this year AGM (? Steve hinted at something a few weeks ago from the Barnsley o/s about financial rules). In previous seasons most Clubs have announced ST prices from March (Income), then went on to arrange Transfers & Wages from March - June (Expenditure) and only then the FL had their AGM in early June (Rules). I.e. ? Could it be that Nicola views :- Income (March) then Expenditure (M-J) and finally Rules (first week of June) is the wrong Business model, and the Income should be the result of the other 2.
  15. On the 24th January this year the Echo back page headline was They told everyone that he was GONE in the January Transfer Window. Perhaps somebody could ask the Echo why we should believe today's back page over 24th of Januarys back page ?? Which one is correct ? The article went on to say thing like and

  17. The case actually started at 10:36 http://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings-lists/Southwark-crown-court.php However I cannot find anyone twittering from that room they all seem more concerned with Court 5 (Serious Fraud case, I believe) and there doesn't appear to be anyone in Court 7 http://twitter.com/#!/cSouthwark
  18. The Olympics had a scandle with the selection of the Salt Lake City selection in 1995. The IOC came under pressure from their Sponsors saying they wouldn't continue their Sponsorship until there was changes. The IOC changed. If you look at the FIFA web site their "partners" are mentioned at the bottom. http://www.fifa.com/index.html If there is a boycott of "Adidas; Coke; Hyundai; Emirates; Sony and Visa" by the general public while they continue to support the current FIFA setup. Things will change because Money talks.
  19. IMO he has to stay next season. In August we are no longer restricted by the stupid FA (or is it FIFA) rules that say a 17 year old can only sign a 3 year contract. We then offer him a long term contract (like Adam's) with clauses LIKE :- allows him to leave after 2 seasons (if we are not in the PL) and only if club A or B offers over 15m say. Of course his father may want to vary the terms i.e. amount / club C etc. but I'm sure an arrangement can be found. (imo I think this sort of thing is what his mum was hinting at on the radio) With the "25 man over 21" Squad rule it makes no sense to sell now.
  20. There are 2 Court Case :- 1/ Storrieteller and Milan next week. 2/ Henry and Milan in middle/late July. HMRC believe there are 2 issues that require Court action. The first relates to the termination of Eyal Berkovic's contract where money was paid overseas without deduction of Tax & NI (? I don't think Henry was at the Club then). The second relates to the signing on of midfielder Amdy Faye when he moved from Auxerre to Portsmouth.
  21. Court Case Southwark Crown Court Tuesday 31st May at 10:30 http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T110531.01.htm
  22. Sorry if this is too long for some to read but at the start of last season the Football League introduced new rules relating to the size of 1st team squads. http://www.football-league.co.uk/footballleaguenews/20100608/football-league-agm-report_2293334_2070706 When they changed the rulebook the wording was different, because it refers to "Under 21". http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20100801/section-6-players_2293633_2125731 The definition of "Under 21" and "Squad List" are :- http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20100801/section-1-general_2293633_2125698 So for the coming season (2011/12) the "Under 21" definition is :- born on of after 1 Jan 1990. Now Saints will have 3 players on their books that will move from the "Under 21" category to the 25 man Squad List, namely Morgan Schneiderlin (08/11/1989), Joseph Mills (30/10/1989) and Aaron Martin (29/09/1989). This means that as things currently stand today Saints already have have 23 players of the maximum 25 :- (1) Barnard, (2) Bialkowski, (3) Butterfield, (4) Chaplow (5) Connolly, (6) Davis, (7) Dickson, (8 Do Prado, (9) Fonte, (10) Forte, (11) Forecast, (12) Harding, (13) Hammond, (14) Holmes, (15) Jaidi, (16) Lallana, (17) Lambert, (18 Martin, (19) Mills, (20) Puncheon, (21) Richardson, (22) Schneiderlin, (23) Seaborne. - (assuming (5) is offered/agrees a new contract). O-Chamberlain and Gobern are counted as "Under 21" and are therefore in addition to the 25 man Squad. Saints currently have room for 2 more players in their 25 man "Squad List". Imo it is almost certain that (20) and more than likely (19) will be sold/loaned, which will take it up to 4. However if the Club goes up to that 25 limit the buying Club will know we need to sell and the price for those players will go down. Equally trying to loan them out will put us in a disadvantage re wages etc, so it a balancing act. p.s. If we buy Stephens (Oldham) - DOB-12/12/1989 he will be counted in the 25 man Squad Therefore imo it is important to keep Alex and Oscar because it allows us to have a 27 man Squad for next season. I hope this puts an end to those would sell Alex and buy 5 experience nPC players, because we would still need to sell/loan others. Full Rules on Squad List http://www.football-league.co.uk/regulations/20100801/section-6-players_2293633_2125731
  23. They DIDN'T last season. It took some finding but they had their AGM in Malta in early June and voted on some rule changes. http://www.football-league.co.uk/footballleaguenews/20100608/football-league-agm-report_2293334_2070706 and then they followed that up with an EGM a few days before the start of the season (just to give pennies to L1 Clubs ?) http://www.football-league.co.uk/footballleaguenews/20100804/clubs-approve-rule-changes_2293334_2110947 It could be argued that none of the changes should have had a major effect on Clubs for the coming season, however the changes still came into effect last year. IMO it has always seemed strange to me that the Clubs announce their ST prices first (from March onwards), arrange any Transfers (including wages) in the months from March onwards and then finally agree the Rules that they are going to play under from June onwards. ? Prehaps there is going to be a vote this year on something that could effect the ST prices. ?? p.s. I didn't know about the 25 players over 21 rule, not that it is should effect any Club unless Loans are counted in that figure.
  24. I just pleased we got out of League 1, from this report on the Oldham o/s during the season it suggests that they were going to take a vote to introduce the 60% rule for League 1 clubs similar to the one that which exists already in L2. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsUpdate/0,,10337~2199903,00.html imo I think this would have made the 5yr plan very difficult, if not impossible.
  25. The jury retired to consider their verdict in the Riley/Davenport/Andersen case yesterday. As no one went to the "Mention" hearing last Friday WE do not know what the Judge decided for the Storrieteller/Milan case. He COULD have :- Decided to have that case at the same time as the Henry/Milan case in July/August. however I believe it is next up after the current case but I may be wrong. Almost certainly there will be a Press backout on reporting the case, so information will be in short supply until the trial is over. In fact he may stop all Press comment until the later trial (Henry/Milan) (recently there was a series of 19 trials where the press were not allowed to comment for 20 months on any of them, so that they could all get a fair trial).
