1. For me the most interesting quote in that article is :-
2. We had a "mini dip" at the end of Sept - 1 point from 2 games Burnley & Cardiff. We came back with 6 wins & 2 draws from the next 8 games.
3. Try Sky's highlights (about 1:21 in) http://www.skysports.com/football/match_video/0,26719,11065_3408112,00.html
4. Yes I think the monkey boy fails to point out that when Nigel took over :- The seaweed had 10pts from 5 games, (2 pts from the top with a game in hand). Meanwhile Saints (after the MK Dons game) had 4pts from 6 games. I.e we were 6 pts behind but only finished 3pts behind from 1 less game.
5. Court 1 tomorrow at 14:00. http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T111110.01.htm Note : Wikipedia says "For Hearing" means
6. Being ultra critical there is still room for improvement. The period just after half time we have a negative goal difference 0-15 mins : Goals For 7 ; Against 3 (+4) - ? start the game well 16-30 mins : 9-1 (+8 ) - ? brilliant "pass and move" football 31-45 mins : 5-2 (+3) 46-60 mins : 3-5 (-2) - ? switch off at h/t or do the oppo go "gung-ho" 61-75 mins : 2-4 (-2) 76-90+ mins : 11-2 (+9) - ? good fitness levels
7. Tomorrow in Court 8 at Southwark Crown Court http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/sthwk_T111104.01.htm
8. For me it will be 7w 2d 1l = 23pts. We need aim for 10-0-0 and build a gap because some of the away games in early 2012 are tricky (brum, whu, leeds etc)
9. If anybody did not see the speeded up version of South Today last night, it can be viewed here (approx 20 mins in) http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b016p56b/South_Today_31_10_2011/ It is only available today i believe (next 10 hours) so if somebody is going to copy it they will need to be quick.
10. Gareth Bale IS/WAS an Arsenal supporter, I was very surprised he went to Spurs ! and very more so he has become a star there and he plays his heart out for them in derby games.
11. I went for a run past the Ticket Office yesterday and was told "I don't know something like 24k". I then asked "does that include the away supporters" and the answer was "yes". In the past I've been told they have to run some form of "batch job and therefore the quoted figure could be a couple of days out".
12. As I've said before, Boro have been playing the 3-5-2 system this season. That system plays well against sides that play a fixed 4-4-2 system (each player playing in their own little box). It's strengths are the 3 centre halves, in that 2 will man mark the 2 forwards and the 3 in central midfield outnumbering the 2 from a 4-4-2 system. It's weaknesses are the area behind the fullbacks, the 4-4-2 side should be looking to make runs behind the fullbacks so that the 3-5-2 becomes 5-3-2. I expect Nigel will know how to break it down, he may well play a "diamond" in midfield or even a "Xmas Tree" (4-3-2-1) at some stage in the game.
13. Second consecutive weekend when they have had the LOWEST attendance in the Championship. This weekend they were below:- Blackpool (13,520), Coventry (12,785), and PBoro (12,880). Last weekend when they had 11,261 they were below :- Bristol C (13,115), Burnley (13,664), Watford (12,559) and Doncaster (12,962)
14. The full audio is here http://audioboo.fm/boos/515345-nigel-adkins-speaks-to-solentsport-after-saints-1-1-draw-at-reading For me Guly is the same player as when he arrived. If other players are making runs off him he has looks brilliant, because he has good vision. However if the team are stationary and there is very little movement then his poor touch shows up. If certain fans want a boo boy perhaps they should look at the lack of movement coming from DC in the last few weeks, imo he needs a rest.
15. In the Storrieteller / Milan case the

Details: Trial (Part Heard) - Jury retire to consider verdict - 10:14

http://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings-lists/Southwark-crown-court.php
16. The Sky highlights are here http://www.skysports.com/football/match_video/0,26719,11065_3407844,00.html They show Chaplow shot plus the "tip over" from Davis and a few seconds more to the build up to DeRidder's goal. HOWEVER, and it is a BIG however, "DeRidder was offside" (I think not) and the HOOF ball team "deserved a point" (I think NOT)
17. I also thought that might have been higher but I looked it up this morning and it was only 32,095.
18. If anyone is interesting in the Storrieteller/Milan case at Southwark, "lawpages" is now saying http://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings-lists/Southwark-crown-court.php
19. I'm not sure this can happen, because of "theFA" and UEFA rules. This site which deals with Football Law says http://www.inbrief.co.uk/football-law/change-to-premiership-format.htm
20. The Ref is due to be Darren Deadman. Previous games 2010/11 Won (H) v Sheff Wed 2-0 2009/10 Drew (a) v wycombe 0-0 ........... Lost (a) v colchester 1-2 ........... Lost (H) v Bristol Rov 2-3 2008/09 Lost (a) v palace 0-3 2007/08 Drew (H) v Wolves 0-0
21. If anybody had followed the link I posted last Friday to Salisbury Crown Court 1 (on the other Barnard thread) you would have seen the following was scheduled for Monday :- For Sentence...... - OHUANBOR James For Trial............. - Boney Thomas E For Trial (Backer). - Cooper Joshua R & Stone Sabri Not before 2:00 For Trial (Backer) - Barnard Lee J My thoughts When I did Jury Service a few years ago I got talking to the Clerk of the Court and asked him what happens if somebody changes their Plea and/or they come to some arrangement to plead Guilty to some less charge etc. He told me they have "Backer" cases that get "moved up" etc., but if they don't then the original trial takes place and the "backers" will usually start later that week or next week (if the Court room is available). The Judge will find out from both councils how long each side expects their case to go on for. In Lee's case the Echo said on Monday that it was expected to go on for 3 days, but that figure later became 5 days after it was postponed. Now I have looked at all the cases scheduled for Monday :- What I think has happened (Monday) Recorder Malcolm QC has found out how long the Boney case will go on for, then dealt with the Ohuanbor sentence. He has then found out how long the Stone/Cooper & Barnard cases will go on for. There may have been some "change" in the Cooper/Stone case because he has them "back in" at 13:02 and the case is marked "Hearing Finished". At about 15:00 he starts with the Boney case. (Tuesday) Continues with the Boney case until lunchtime then the case is marked "Hearing Finished" at 13:01. The Court room is now free after lunch; Today it is due to handle an overflow case from Southampton http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/salis_T111012.01.htm IMO it appears there was room for a 3 day Court case this week (WThF) but the change to 5 days meant that it could not be scheduled this week (They were never going to fit a 5 day trial in this week with the other cases scheduled). What caused the case to increase from 3 to 5 days ? is the question.
22. Yes, there are 4 tricky games this month, BUT look at the fixtures in November and December. 6 Home games (where we can beat anyone) and 4 away games at sides in the bottom 6 (Coventry, Bristol, Donny & cheats). We could win all 10 of those games. For me the defining period will be from mid Jan to mid March, where we have some difficult away games at grounds we have not played well at in the past e.g. forest, brum, whu, leeds etc.
23. Monday afternoon (not before 2:00) in Court 1 of Salisbury Crown Court before Recorder Malcolm QC. http://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/current/crown/salis_T111010.01.htm
24. From the reports I have read Boro have been playing 5 at the back this season (they call it 3-5-2), but it is really 5 defenders. Two of the 3 centre backs mark tight leaving a spare central defender, allowing their full backs to push on. IMO the system means they will always be a hard side to breakdown but they will only score a few goals this season. The system works well against sides that play a rigid / flat 4-4-2 system, because they mark the front players tight (by the 3 CBs) and they outnumber the 4-4-2 side 3 to 2 in central midfield. I think Nigel will know the strengths and weaknesses of their system and we may well start with a "Diamond" or at least get our front players to pull wide into the areas behind the fullbacks (one of the weaknesses of their system).
25. The BBC have just announced cuts of 15% to the Sports budget and also cuts in Local radio. I believe one thing under discussion is doing away with DUEL COMMENTRY on Football matches by Local Radio, i.e. when we play away at say Derby then Radio Solent will take the Radio Derby commentry, likewise when sides come to us they will take the Solent commentry with Dave M "sitting on the fence" over certain decisions etc. I cannot see a number of the "big sides" being happy with this arrangment and imo they would provide their own commentry team for games. Now I don't know what the arrangement is between Radio Solent and "The Saints Player" but I cannot see fans being happy to pay money to Saints for match commentry and finding some Skate or somebody else giving a one-sided commentry of the match. Therefore the question, would Nicola go his own way and provide Saints Commentry on the Saints Player at a additional COST ? Then I remembered a few weeks ago when our U18 thrashed manure at Staplewood, MUTV showed the match on the internet. It seemed at that time the MUTV were geared up to showing ALL THEIR OWN GAMES, and it is only the agreement between Sky & the PL that is stopping them. Could the victory by Mrs Skate actually lead to the breakup of the TV agreement ? and for Clubs go their own way and sell their own rights as they do in Italy ??
