Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
saintchris23 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Hughes was rubbish at Fulham and is rubbish at QPR = No thanks Redkrapp will never manage Saints again. His stats at all his teams have been poor when you consider that he loses almost as many games as he wins. Club Played Won Drawn Lost Tottenham 198 98 50 50 Portsmouth 127 54 28 45 Southampton 49 13 21 15 Portsmouth 116 54 26 36 West Ham 327 121 85 121 Bournemouth 457 180 107 170 Not the best format for copy/paste, apologies -
It was probably a spurs fan in the home end. Stop jumping the gun that's its in house fighting.

Never heard of him. Boruc on the other hand ;-)

Fulham away Boxing Day-'neutral' end tickets
saintchris23 replied to Wallington Saint's topic in The Saints
According to Google it's very much still open although I've never been in there myself. -
Fulham away Boxing Day-'neutral' end tickets

That's like saying the same thing about Twickenham on International days!? Rubbish. Football should be more neutral like rugby, it's only the thick knobheads that ruin it for everyone. -
Fulham away Boxing Day-'neutral' end tickets
saintchris23 replied to Wallington Saint's topic in The Saints
As a 'closet Cottager' myself, the Putney end is good for when you either can't get tickets for the Hammersmith end or for when Fulham played Pompey when it was good to go and wind them up without them knowing that I was a Saints fan too. The acoustics are good and the floors are wooden so you can make a lot of noise. It's also the same stand that the away fans sit/stand in, think about the Northam but without the excessive segregation! -
Trying to help a friend out having just woken up. Effectively opened mouth before thinking! I'm guessing we haven't sold out so ticket office it shall be!

Morning all, Does anyone have a couple of tickets available for the game?

I just stumbled across this website, a cracking read: http://www.theexecutionersbong.wordpress.com/2012/09/27/scout-report-moyes-tactical-blueprint-for-southampton/? Scout Report: Moyes Tactical Blueprint for Southampton (Good graphics on the site) After the misery of Leeds on Tuesday we welcome Southampton – comfortably the most interesting to watch of the newly promoted sides – to Goodison in a fixture which has produced some high scoring and exciting games in years gone by. Adkins Tactics & Selection Defensively Saints will look to play a high line and condense the play further up field. They have made the fewest fouls in the top flight but have made the most interceptions with midfield workhorse Schneiderlin making the most in the top flight. In a contact sport where contact doesn’t seem to be allowed anymore, interceptions are the most effective, low risk method of regaining possession. It does perhaps hint that our visitors lack some bite although at the same time it reduces the amount of free kicks conceded which was a crucial error Swansea made against us last week.On the ball, they have played the fewest long balls per game and the most through balls, so they obviously like to play a short passing game and look for incisive balls in the final third. They are very positive too as was shown by the fact they led against both the Manchester clubs going into the final stages of the games. The United match in particular demonstrated this positivity in possession, with 33% of their passes being played forward compared to United’s 27%. This approach should be applauded given the predominance of percentage football evil cabal bores such as O’Neill and fattie Allardyce. Its more than likely Saints will open up in a 4-1-4-1 setup something like this; Gazzaniga – Clyne, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox – Shneiderlin – Puncheon, Davis, Ramires, Lallana – Lambert Strengths In Schneiderlin they have the player who has covered more ground than any other Prem player this season. The ex Strasbourg man has averaged over 7 miles per game, peaking at.7.31 miles vs Man City. Their energy as a team is similar to Lambert’s Norwich last season but their style is more akin to Blackpool’s during their solitary season in the top flight.Going forward they have scored plenty with Toffees fan Adam Lallana the key creative force. He will start on the left but will come inside. He’s not got the pace to go past players but he does have a great knack of drifting into pockets of space and playing a killer pass with 2 assists to his name already. The best way to defend him is to show him the outside as he isn’t a great crosser as the below chalkboard demonstrates; misfiring all 10 crosses vs Wigan. In many ways Lallana is a bit like Leon Osman style wise. You can get the Soton man at 16/1 with Boylesports to get the first assist Weaknesses Averaging 3 goals conceded per game is quite a damning statistic. Already goalkeepers and centre backs have been shuffled in and out which doesn’t provide cohesion. Man United got 3 goals from crosses whilst Gibbs – very much a poor man’s Leighton Baines – had a field day in the Gunner’s 6-1 slaying a few weeks ago against Clyne at right back who was afforded little protection from Puncheon on the right side of midfield. The above shows an example of Arsenal overloading down the left 3 v 1 on Clyne for the first of Gibbs two assists. The below visual is from our last home game against Newcastle and shows how Fellaini (blue) similarly likes to drop into this zone to assist Baines/Pienaar (yellow) overload the opposition down the left. It’s likely this is going to be an area we can get plenty of joy.

AJ has never played abroad. Ian Harte however........

Spurs have; Friedel, Llores, Gomes AND Cudicini. A loan move for any of these will be an immense improvement.

Billy Sharp - Joins Notts Forest on Season Long Loan
saintchris23 replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I thought it was strange that Sharp didn't celebrate his goal against Stevenage or did he recognise the fans at all, even though we gave him a massive rendition of his song. -
It took you 25 mins?! It took me 15 coasting down the A1and A414! Good to see another saints fan in St Albans, I thought I was the only one!

I'm going to get ridiculed or slaughtered for doing it twice in a day but Alpine has a point! It IS ridiculous to potentially have four or so new signings in time for massive games against Man U and Arsenal. We'll then have people complaining about a lack of time to gel and it will start all over again. I'm 31 years old and have plenty in my life to worry about, so I enjoy all the speculation about Saints and this season I really don't care if we get relegated or not in our first season. Considering where we've come from and what the future may hold. I understand that it's more fun to slate certain posters than to ignore them but seriously, it's a forum and to treat it seriously is ironic. Lets just enjoy the ride and hope that we can emulate Swansea's start to life at the top.
-
To all the Alpine bashers, I think he has a fair point. None of us really know if he's going to cut the mustard and none of us have seen him live. It's not like we're talking about Ronaldo but potentially he could be the next Ronaldo - the good one, not the fat one! Lets hope it happens and lets hope he's amazing, hopefully signed and sealed in time to play against United as I'm back for the game.
