  1. tessem laying into russball
  2. come on!
  3. i wonder what he sees that others don’t because it’s seems pretty obvious we are vulnerable down that flank yet still he persists
  4. to be fair ipswich don’t often keep it tight at the back but they can change gear if they need to
  5. our best spell was with JB and THB at back - since that was disturbed we have not been the same yet we continue to keep them apart seems odd that having had such a poor game last week defensively we play the same defence
  6. predictable stuff - just do enough to win even when not playing well think that will be 7 or 8 on the bounce
  7. Teams who transition quickly and at pace down the wings cause us all sorts of issues and this is compounded by manning tucking in. I think RM needs to be more pragmatic and adapt his style as that’s ultimately what good managers do - have a plan b or c. We did that successfully against West Brom and it worked a treat but all this ‘brave’ crap is now being used to excuse a lack of nouse in how we set up defensively. It will be interesting to see how he sets up when we play Ipswich at Portman Road in the league.
  8. let’s get the defence sorted, fraser fit and keep downes in cotton wool and we have a good chance in the play offs. not sure i’d fancy us against ipswich though - strike me as the sort of team that could run through us and they use the wings very effectively which is our achilles heel playing a 4-3-3
  9. true regarding ipswich. they seem to play with a greater intensity that gets them out of holes. we need to look at why we conceded lots of goals in September and February
  10. we concede too many shit goals is about the long and short of it maybe we are too ‘brave’ or not ‘brave’ enough it’s very frustrating to be this far off at this stage with the players we have in the squad
  11. they are quick and direct not sure if i’d rather them or leeds in the playoffs
  12. great stuff !
  13. play bree, THB, bednarek and KWP (when fit) in a conventional back four with no full back in midfield crap and that should be more than adequate for this league.
  14. he shouldn’t be playing THB at RB and Manning at LB when their were better options today. we have fallen apart defensively in the last six games and we need to address this or we won’t be going up. play the best players in their best positions and we can’t ask for more than that. this is an excellent squad for this level as we will find out next season if we don’t go up !
  15. I think there is a lot in this - he’s not great positionally and should not be in the first X1 but I think some of his shortcomings are a product of how he’s asked to play and a failure off RM to recognise he’s not cafu. Should be KWP, JB, THB and Bree
  16. Last i checked RM picks the team so it’s not enough to say if one of the team scores he’s a tactical genius. i’d have had aribo on from the beginning. THB at RB was stupid as he’s our best CB and manning at LB with the tactics we play is clearly not working. the attempts to cover for downes absence didn’t work. we are now conceding more than two goals a game over the last 6 games or so. im fairly neutral on RM as all managers have dodgy spells but i increasingly think that it’s the quality of the players rather than the team that has kept us just about in the race
  17. we won’t that in spite of RM not because of him.
  18. you’d don’t mention ‘brave’
  19. We are now conceding two + goals per game across the last 6
  20. i want a win tomorrow but if i can’t have that i want bravery on the ball
  21. How can you say he is less injury prone - he hasn’t played any meaningful football for god knows how long and prior to the achilles he was injured : Scotland international Stewart was out for three months earlier in the season with a hamstring problem and after only six matches back in the side wound up having season-ending Achilles surgery.
  22. I thought he was a threat and didn’t agree with his substitution. He’s not a £25million footballer but he was direct and caused problems
  23. wish he would find another adjective instead of ‘brave’ - it’s now seems to be synonymous with losing the ball near your own 18 yard box and conceding unnecessary goals.
