When we signed THB the biggest strike against him was he was part of a defence that conceded a fuck ton of goals in the Championship, and that Vincent Kompany decided he wasn't worth signing for £15m. That raises huge question marks. He was then part of a defence in the PL with a good keeper, and we still conceded a shit load, irrespective of which manager was in charge. It's fine that I don't rate them, and you do, but personally I want better players than that as I think they're distinctly average Championship players (THB may be slightly above average).

I don't rate either as any good. Downes only plays well for Martin, and THB is one of the most over-rated CBs I've seen, only masked by the fact Bednarek and Stephens were so shit alongside as well.

If this signing is instead of Rak Saki I'll take it. If ahead of Azaz, I won't.

I think we need better players than Downes and THB, don't we? I would also say considering his success in the Bundesliga, he may be ahead of those 2 anyway who both looked out of place in the Prem.
