I only voted to back him as I am still scarred from the Wigley / Gray days. Remember Silva still managed to get Hull relegated. I think the risk of changing is bigger than sticking. We have good enough players to stay up. At the end of the season it is time for a change as he is not good enough - I'll shed no tears. #we march on (#ironic)

Can't say I was particularly nervous - so pleased for a win though. And it is my birthday! Surely Hojberg has to play in that side on current form - perhaps Romeu needs a rest? From the radio commentary JWP is turning into the player we all hoped he would -- really pleased or him. MOM - Saints Away fans - nice for them to have something to sing about. COYR

As in Laverne and Shirley - if it wasn't clear from my previous post. This is my worst post on Saintsweb - sorry It's worse than my song for Toby Aldeweireld - which involved chanting supermarket names.

Call me childish or small minded but when I post about Lovren or read his name anywhere, I always misspell or mispronounce his name as Lovern. It's my way of getting back at him for 'losing his head'

Agreed. It was much better 2nd half. Romeu was a yard too slow in the first half but seemed to have enough professional pride to be right back at it when we decided to go all out attack. Trouble is, we have too many players who are not good enough - Long missed a tap in - any striker worthy of the name would have piled the ball and Vertonghen into the net. Redmond has the ability but seems to be a bit confused if there are options. He would benefit from a Harry Redknapp type 'arm round the shoulder, just play' kind of manager ie '****'. Yoshida -bless him- just isn't good enough, brave lad but doesn't seem to be able to get into the right position at key moments. Finally, Forster should have come for that cross for the first goal - anything low is a problem and shot straight at him bounce off of him. Needs to be dropped. I hope the £75m is spent on a couple of decent players - we have a good squad but it is underperforming.

it's probably worth considering that Puel hasn't had a chance to get his slow boring methods across to the Leicester players yet. I agree he went due to some dreadful, boring, football at home - no goals, no excitement. It was also due to his dreadfully dull interviews - he made the mistake of coming to England with just a handful of English phrases and being too busy with the football side of things to take any lessons. As much as we disliked 'Dave' the interpreter - Poch got it right by getting to a more conversational style of English before doing interviews. He should have been given another year - but I doubt he would have been much better off than MP

A draw was probably fair thought wouldn't of complained if we had nicked it as we played well in patches. The one major complaint is that our midfield too often look for a backward pass. Romeo had an opportunity to pass forward to Tadic in the build up to their goal but he chose to pass backwards inviting pressure on Hoedt. Wouldn't it be better to pass the ball forward and maybe lose possession on the edge of their box rather than pass the ball back and invite pressure? Eventually it goes back to Forster who generally smashes it out for a throw-in or aimlessly upfield giving up possession anyway. We were so much better in the 2nd half in that respect and looked like a decent team again.

Hate to say it as he has been playing well this season - Yoshida was at fault for the goal. Hoedt would have headed it clear if he had been playing. I thought after having a vent I would feel better - but I will have to go to work tomorrow with a bunch Bournemouth fans. At least ManU lost - so there will be few people I can wind up!

I've seen the limited highlights from Sky and it looks like we attacked a bit - I listened to the live radio commentary and we did create chances - it's just that no-one seems to be able to put them away. Burnley were very negative and scored with their one attempt on target. Forster isn't saving anything at the moment so it was bound to go in. Redmond was more positive and tried to link up play - but generally the build up was too slow. We've played worse and won games. I can't disagree with 90% of the posts on this thread - the one that sums it up for me is that the performance yesterday wasn't the worst and the team don't deserve all of the flak they are getting based on that one game. The problem is that it is happening over and over again and the management don't seem to be learning. The live commentary painted a pretty uninspiring game - thanks mainly to Burnley's tactics. However, our play is too slow and we are a really boring team to support at the moment. the one positive is that we are not getting thumped every week - hopefully that isn't tempting fate with the run of games we have coming up.

I listened on the radio and once again it was pretty uninspiring stuff. Poor Gabbiadini might as well not be there - he never gets any service. Can we try left footers on the left and right footers on the right and try to overlap? We were a good mid table team with ambitions to push higher but seem to have got stuck in a rut of boring negative possession football. Since Puel started playing a weakened team this time last season to conserve energy there has been no urgency, the ball gets played backwards or sideways before being lumped out of play. The fullbacks stop making their runs and the midfielders don't make runs into the box. The opposition then score with their only shot on target. I keep telling people that we are a good side when we pass the ball forwards but it doesn't happen often enough. Saints 0 - Fans 12,000

He could buy a new watch...

I nearly punched a hole in the ceiling when that went in. Don't recall cheering an England goal like that before or since (Beckham vs Greece maybe).

Chrome good for me. Tadic just missed a sitter grrr

Saints player working now. WolvesFM was garbage!

I seem to remember Tiss played against Romania, hit a dipping volley just over the cross bar. A foot lower and he would have been undroppable. Funnily enough - just found this link. Someone else agrees! https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2009/jul/24/joy-of-six-football-what-ifs

Did you notice how he almost always aimed low and hard for the corners. It would be worth our current squad (Davis, Hojberg, Clasie, Cedric etc) watching it too before the season starts. Ian Walker must have hated him.... ha

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal

I watched the Le Tiss 100 premier league goals the other night and it was immediately apparent how many shots were aimed beyond the keeper into the bottom corner or off the post and in. Our current squad could do with some shooting practice - just inside the post will do fine more times than not. (JWP needs to understand which side of the post constitutes a 'goal' as he is so close so often it's laughable). I did enjoy how many of the shots were past Ian Walker - ha ha -
When he first broke through there were rumours of him going to City - so he's had admirers at the highest level

According to SSN there is only one team playing today - may as well hand them the trophy now. It's going to be a long 8 hours....

Yoshida's main fault was that he always needs half a dozen games to get up to speed. Hopefully now that he has had the game time he'll be fine. Still has a dodgy pass in him though which is a worry he is brave, honest, loyal and not at all flash - should be a Saints fan's hero?

Have we won a corner... WOW!! I can't contain my excitement
