Tough to drop Wanyama & Pelle but I include JWP for his engine alongside Morgan. Ings, Mane, J-Rod with pace to burn and Tadic to supply the through balls.

I have a real problem with Dave 'Bluh bluh bluh' Merrington. he makes the cardinal pundit sin of talking over the lead commentator and just comes out with the bleedin' obvious more often then not. "He's got to do better than that, Adam" just when Adam is trying to explain formations or something useful. Surely that's his job? Vickie Sparks makes me watch even a highlights reel on mute - but she isn't the worst. I don't mind Clinton Morrisson (he is on everything these days) and even Merse will come out with something that is quite insightful but you have to pick through a heap of word salad to get there. The best in the business is Gary Neville and if I could pair him with the late Peter Brackley then that would be my ideal combo.

I'm going grit my teeth and watch ALL of the 2nd half - on mute (cos I can't bear Cara). I'll shout at Merrington on Solent instead.

He's been really good recently. I feel he makes better decisions when he doesn't have to think about it - otherwise he tries to hard to be clever and it all goes wrong. Having the team playing on the front foot really helps him.

Play Long in central defence in a 3. He can head the ball, run about and make tackles. Kyle Walker is making a career of it at Man City

Enjoyed that - 1st half was OK, 2nd half much better. Missed chances 1st half, created and scored in the second. Armstrong good, Gabbi looked sharp. JWP & Hoj have to play ahead of Romeu & Davis who looked shockingly off the pace. (or Lemina who didnt play) We now have a massive defence but I just worry when the ball comes near them - aerially or on the deck. No change there. Austin scored but did very little else [just like Harry Kane - LOL] perhaps he'll get 20 goals this season if he stays fit. Gallagher is massive - may be useful this season? Moi gave the ball away a lot - too early to tell with him. Would prefer Sims (who didnt play) or Redmond (who didnt play)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Rose was garbage against Costa Rica. I'm not saying Ryan would have done any better - it was just like watching Saints the last couple of years - boring, possession based risk averse rubbish. How many crosses did Rose put in - none. It was get the ball, stop running and pass it back. The only player making forward runs from wing back was Trippier and he was a sub! Henderson had just about enough quality to find him. We haven't learned the lessons of Iceland. Pass the ball forwards! As I say - just like Saints - pass the ball forwards and we look like a decent side. He should have picked Bertrand, played him on the left of the back three to give Rose support (or instead of him). I'm not surprised he thinks he has been overlooked - shocking decision. Hope he enjoys his holiday and comes back refreshed!

Poch's 1st season - we had a real identity - went toe to toe in every game until they ran out of puff around March?. Young, English players - all going to the World Cup (plus Fonte & Schneiderlin). And who can forget Lambert's goal against Scotland! Other than that I enjoyed Tiss in his purple patch, scoring for fun - beating United regardless of which coloured shirts they were wearing!

I can't work out what Young offers in attack on the left? When he gets up the pitch he just cuts back onto his right. At least Bertrand would overlap. Like wise Delph. Sure they can both play in lots of positions - but they are equally crap in all of them. Still, at least we don't need to worry about our best players being tapped up in the summer - we don't have any!
