Yoshida was excellent - my MOM. VVD will get the headlines but the whole defence was superb.

Yoshida gets better with more game time - he will not be as good as Fonte though. Ch$$$na has to be the reason - Mendes wants his cut. Jose has been told to do a Pelle. For balance - don't forget, a lot of us wouldn't have been sorry to have seen him go to Cardiff (provided we could have kept Lovern). Thankfully he stayed. In the same way VVD signed for a Dutch manager, Puel may have given the nod on a French replacement the Black Box recommends.

To quote another poster, we need to win 'our' league and see where that gets us. It may be possible to snatch 6th but it isn't likely - 7th is the best we can do this year. I would be happy with that though!

JRod obviously MOM for me though Bertrand was very close behind. JRod looked really sharp all game - which is brilliant news if it continues, with Charlie out. We look like such a good side when we pass the ball forward! I like Redmond but he tends to slow play down (Fabrice Fernandes anyone?). Nice to see Tadic building up fitness again. Hojberg was toilet first half - should have been hooked. Still think that there is £30M player there though. Told my ManU supporting mate that VVD was the best CB in the league since Rio Ferdinand. I think we will be really lucky to get another season out of him before he goes to City or Barca. I work in Bournemouth, so looking forward tomorrow...!

First H post I can remember for a while that was objective and made sense. Same as last year, we are aiming for 7th. It is just nice to play the 'big' teams and actually take the game to them.

Most important result at SMS since Coventry. Given his England U21 and now European experience JWP seems comfortable at this level. It wont be long before he can step into the first team on merit. I know its taken 100 or so appearances - and he hasn't convinced everyone yet. But its is a good argument for giving game-time to the likes of Reed, Gallagher, Hesketh and McQueen (who has been magnificent since he came in, shame for him that he will only be 3rd choice LB when Targett is fit)

We looked so much better when Davis etc started playing the ball forward instead of backwards. Loved højbjerg chasing back when Cedric had pushed - very easy to have left someone else to do it. Quality player.

Toure tought him a lesson 18 months ago. He wont start ahead of Dembele who is a much better all round player - we could offer a player swap if Spurs really want him?

Toby is excellent though VVD has the potential to be as good as Rio was Super Vir-gil Dutch with funny hair Super Vir- ir-ir-gil Hates Pompey (sorry got bored)

Alderweireld had his share of injuries plus Koeman played him at Right Back or in midfield. I think Vx2D is marginally better - and Toby is a heck of a player. VVD reminds me of Rio, so expect a 30mil bid from the Reds at some point.

The only game I have ever walked out on was when England played at SMS against Macedonia. I missed Alan Smith being sent off. Did see a couple of great goals from Gerrard and Beckham though.

Funny, I watched that too. Hearing "We're Premier League, We're premier league" on 66 minutes makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck

I would have preferred to see Harry in CM instead of Toby. Toby is an excellent centre back but I don't think he has the legs for RB or CM. Yoshi is a good reserve and doesn't let anyone down but I would have Toby there. Steven Davis probably needs a rest - he's just had an injury and lots of football. Clyne has already left, which is sad

Forster probably would have got down it - he had a similar strong arm reaction save against Chelsea? that kept us in it. Great save by KD though

Don't forget that next year the guys that joined us this year will have had a pre-season, so should hit the ground running. Hopefully we don't lose too many this year. Van ****, Classie, Martins indi in for Clyne, Schneiderlin, Alderweireld plus a fit J-Rod will see us no worse off. But if we lose more (JWP to Citeh for example) it may be asking too much to do it two years in a row.

I cheered when Pelle scored! Looking to the weekend, Barkley must be the most overrated player in existence at the moment - he's a headless chicken who runs into blind alleys and loses possession. He never passes to a team mate when better positioned. the bloke is a liability. At least Harry Kane shoots, out tippy tappy's need to sharpen up in that respect (Davis, JWP, Djuricic, Tadic)

Exactly right, ManU have been turd awful this year - but if they win their tough games like they did yesterday then fair play they will have deserved 4th as there will not be much we can do about it. I don't think they will though and it would be great to chase them down

Harry superb, 19 years old, only a couple of games under his belt. He wont meet Sissoko's every week. They looked tired towards the end though. Did just enough to cross the line.

Inspired substitution - I'd have expected Long on for Elia, Cork on for Tadic. Brilliant!
