Christ it's not that complicated. I'm poking fun at Alpine's righteous indignation at someone saying something as off the cuff as "I feel sorry for your wife" by comparing it to a situation where my old man has said something to me that i could have taken as a slur but in actual fact merely took for what it was. A lighthearted joke. The internet is serious business after all.

What really annoys me about this thread is the basic message. I mean if Alpine were really a fan of Saints he would know that all the other teams of L1 hod carriers will be reading this message board. And as such will almost certainly now know how to get the upper hand over our team. They simply need to water the f**ck out of the pitch, then invite the local group of bonehead rugby players to prance around on it the day before the match. I see this as a real betrayal to Saints. Foreshame Alpine.

I also seem to remember being at an away game where there were cheerleaders and the chant of "do you take it up the ar5e?" rang out around the ground! Never really been that fussed by the whole thing...it fits with the whole way american football works...time outs and the like...not so much football.

I told you my expectations. They were to finish just outside the play offs. I wouldn't consider that very very very low expectations. Higher than many to be fair. Still what i want out of football and what you want are obviously two different things. I go to games to have the hair standing up on the back of the neck moments like the JPT area final, the Pompey game and undoubtedly the Wembley final. But sitting behind your computer screen moaning you're not going to know about those feelings. So yes 11 wins 6 draws and 3 losses from the last 20 games in the league. And days like a Wembley trip that will live long in the memory and yes i am vey much enjoying the season. Oh and i don't seem to remember you squinnying at the start of the season so you can't say that sh:t start counts for nothing i'm afraid. Because it obviously did. Because having been at the Bournemouth game 4 weeks before the season started i'd have been hard pushed to really say that that team was going to take us anywhere other than relegation. The fact that we've turned it round is testament to not only Cortese and Markus with the money but to Pardew's signings and nous to sort out the backroom situation.

Either that or they're just crushing bores that need ignoring at every turn. Demands for instant gratification that lead me to believe they were probably spoilt children. Also explains the desperate need for attention. I for one am very much enjoying this season. And my prediction at the start of the season was for us to just miss out on the play offs so my expectations are being met really. Still it's not all rosey at the moment and Pardew does have his strengths and his weaknesses. And i'd like to see him play more positively a lot of the time. But i think we're starting to see that. And aside from that i actually like hearing what he has to say and his analysis is usually spot on so i'm very happy to have someone who displays a little intelligence steering the ship...and am pretty hopeful that we can get out of this division next season and with some real style to boot.
