I don't think anyone expected a young talent like that to stick around when we were relegated from the championship. He and surman were our biggest assets as we descended down the leagues.

On the demand for pace I would love to see Rowe named amongst the substitutes on Saturday. A run out late on would be a wonderful opportunit for him.

This is another club claim that had the cynics rolling about laughing (along with 'Premier League in 5 years) yet, amazingly, we are pretty much there now. We've seen Lallana, Shaw, Chambers, Ward Prowse and Gallagher all on the pitch at the same time. And still we have Reed on the bench! I really think we have broken the mould of being a selling club. Yes, there may be exceptional talents who decide to move on, but if they did not we would soon have some talent frustrated by not being able to break through to first team football.

Everton looked good today. Nothing wrong with our front line. We're just a young side learning how to read weaknesses in different teams. Lambert, Lallana and the centre backs ( on set pieces) all well capable of scoring. Need to make that early pressure count though.
