  1. If I couldn't get enthusiastic about a big game against city then I think I'd pick another sport to follow. Ping pong maybe?
  2. you need to mention this to MP as he thought it was 3-4-3. Yes Fonte did get the cross in. Mainly because he was caught with the ball high up with few options to offload.
  3. If Chambers does not impress you there is really not much hope. He was brilliant early in the season
  4. We're not missing anything right now apart from oozing the confidence we showed before the international break. MP Has already said that it will be a quiet transfer window. My love for sport has always been and always will be how players cope with set backs and how coaches develop players, lifting them when low and managing them when on a good run. So in the New year I hope to see our mid season blip (assuming it continues through December) put to bed, a few fringe players impressing and maybe a new star emerging from the youth team. Lifting the team after 3 or 4 defeats on the trot will be more challenging with the age of our squad but great character building stuff for later in the season.
  5. I actually thought Cork looked very confident on the ball and seemed to be key in almost every move going forward. Excellent shift but agreed poor to give the ball away for the second goal.
  6. Yes - along with Gallagher according to the Daily Mail. oh wait....
  7. Of course he is ready. That is why he has been part of the squad for several games this season. But Morgan being injured does not mean we have to throw him in just yet. We have bags of experience for that posistion in JWP, Davis and Cork. Hell, even Lallana can do a good job there. Cork is the natural replacement but Davis has performed well each time he's been called on so far this season. JWP or Lallana playing there would leave a more serious create gap behind the lone striker.
  8. To me it just trivialises the whole award scheme. Complete waste of money and very little credibility. Lets judge on the PFA Awards.

He is more than capable of getting Wednesday in or around the play offs but not much more. Can't quite see what has gone wrong for him at hillsborough. Has made some very astute signings / loans and then does not play them... ....trouble is Wednesday are still paying megson so can't really afford to sack him.
  10. Exactly when was the last time we let a good player join one of our opponents?
  11. I think it was Morgan that said players were encouraged to speak out where somoene does something wrong. It's about developing leaders all over the pitch. I have to say I'm impatient and want to see these new signings deliver from day 1 but that is me being unrelaistic. I have no doubt he will come good.
  12. Posts like this are embarrassing. There have been no tantrums
  13. Spurs fans seem to rare MP quite low on their wish list.
  14. It might have something to do with Chelsea releasing six versions of their training kit at the beginning of the season compared to the three that Saints promoted.
  15. No - I think that is a really good call. So long as we have J Rod and Lambo to come on and change things around if it does not work. Its a good shout - probably wont happen though
  16. If he was the only person sitting, he's a muppet. If you were the only one standing, you are. Simples.
  17. It hasn't. The story first appeared a week or two back. Just that the 6-0 thrashing gave the lazy ones a chance to run with it again. No substance in it. I think MP is really sold on the project here and cannot see him leaving for another club given his experience at Espanyol
  18. Ditto. I met up with a mate from school in the Milton road end (before the Kop moved up to the archers - so late 60's) and we were asked to leave after my school mate used the C word. Even the Milton road regulars found it offensive. Then again when you think about, the Northam are a bunch of wet blankets compared to the Milton lot in the 60's and 70's. It was about fighting back then whereas today today is waving a fist at the away fans from a safe distance. Put em in the same room and most of the Northam would **** themselves. Not that I am saying fighting was ok - but it was very close contact with the away fans. One thing I do look back on with a bit of pride is we were not as foul mouthed back then. You rarely heard an F word in the terrace songs.
  19. Would love to see gaston and dani play 90 minutes together on the pitch.
  20. I was just about to moan 'do I have to watch it again' but having done so it does not look so bad. Closed him down really well and he was a bit ****ed before he got to the third shimmy. Still awful though:(
  21. I've not seen this much bed wetting since I last visited a maternity ward. You will be rightly ridiculed by the gooners when they see it. Ironically one of the more reasonable contributions come from alpine saint (no offence intended alps)
  22. No Clyne worries me more than no Lallana (though he is good enough to be in the team). Right back is a real problem for England as are the centre backs. Shaw would do a good job at left back but realisitically you can't flood the team with Saints so maybe Gibbs is a better choice for this tournament. Prowse is a must in my view and Hodgson obviously likes Rickie so he could well make the squad. Jay will probabably have to wait a bit given the competition for places but he will get there eventually I'm sure. A lot depends on form for the rest of this season though.
  23. It was Jason's call. He would get games here but he wants to play week in week out - can't blame him for that. Can't see him keeping osvaldo, lallana or j rod out of the starting line up can you.
  24. Interesting that the gooners reckon a high tempo against southampton will benefit them yet it was the high tempo from man Utd that caused them to buckle against Man U last week
  25. I personally think gaston is a class player who will come good but competition here is getting stronger each transfer window. He was recognised by many of his team mates as the most talented player on the training ground but because of a serious injury he has not been able to reproduce that form on the pitch. Assuming we are in Champions league next year, I think he will give us important options - and he has already proven himself against European clubs. So I would stick with him as one for the future but In Poch we trust.
