    Plan B

This pretty much reflects my understanding. Plan A is sufficiently fluid to accommodate different styles of opposition. The plan had very little to with yesterday's defeat where we dominated possession and got more shots on goal. They scored from an offside goal and from a Yoshida error. Their third was an inspirational goal scored against the run of play whilst we were pressing for an equaliser. The high pressing game makes for the most entertaining football I've seen in years so Pleae don't change it for anyone!
  3. Humour or irony? Either way, I have no idea what you are on about. I think the return of Gaston and Lovren is going to make it an entertaining run in.
  4. Hopefully his reading skills will be better than yours I think without doubt the quality of football has been the highlight for me. Evidenced by the number of commentators who say how much they love watching saints play and how good our youth production line is. To get where we are in such a short time actually betters the double promotions by Ted Bates - though I accept this is a different era and what Ted achieved at the time will never really be repeated.
  5. This year we do.
  6. Nothing wrong with the team selection. That team should still have won. Tactically this just wasn't the normal saints. No pressing. Poor passing. Nobody stood out positive or negative. Just a meh performance all round. Respect yo the fans who went up though.
  7. I would not be surpised if he gets a one year extension as he is still a decent squad player, as shown on Tuesday for his cameo appearance. I don't think he will ever score a lot of goals but that's not really how we use him now. I always remember Spurs last season saying that him going off injured changed the game and enabled Bale to get the winning goal. Tough guy to play against. Frustrating to watch sometimes!
  8. Yes, the two incidents were connected. Lawrie mentioned it in his recent (long) Talksport interview. He gave Williams a ticking off at half time in some match for not following instructions. Williams wouldn't have any of it and somewhat saracstically Lawrie said oh just do what you want to do and the rest of the team can follow instructions. Williams left the dressing room and Mark Wright (last to leave) turned round and offered some words in support of Williams which caused Lawrie to erupt and they had a tussle that went back into the showers. Lawrie obviously regretted his own behaviour but concluded that he could no longer accommodate Williams at the club. Before the interview, I had thought it was just Williams trying to better himself. Very talented player even though apparently difficult to manage.
  9. Didn't Lawrie decide he had to go after a dressing room confrontation with Williams? Agree generally with the comments made and yes, with the benefit of hindsight Osvaldo was a mistake. Which begs the question why we have a HCDAJFU thread trying to identify our replacement striker when (a) Rodriguez was bought to eventually lead the line when Rickie retires (a couple of years yet at least) and (b) Sam Gallagher has shown huge potential for the future.
  10. 1 she has 2 he's not half way through his latest new contract 3 she has
  11. Should have made it a poll! Never go back was initial thought but hey, he's a great manager and good man motivator. He will only get better. Of all our ex managers he is probably the only one I would have back now.
  12. They have appointed Gareth Rogers as CEO. In terim but no reason to suppose this won't be long term. I don't know. She seems to have done pretty well with her fathers business since his unfortunate demise. That's not what he said. He said he has not sat down and spoken at length with Katharina. He did imply that we need to let the club go through the changes (at the top) before having those discussions.
  13. Tsk. Can't have that can we. That's not what a forum is about at all!
  14. The announcement just says it is a lunchtime KO. I don't see anything indicating that it is on TV
  15. Defeat followed by draw followed by.......
  16. Nice work. Sort of miss puncheon having seen that! J rod really is a class act
  17. So apart from two of the four actually being available.... And there being at least 6 players who are more valuable (lallana, lambert, Morgan, Rodriguez Clyne and Shaw) it's a good post!
  18. Reading what people actually say is right up there too.
  19. Enid Blyton?
  20. Tadanari Lee also played with the U21s before his release. It does not mean anything. Would be pleased for Aaron if he did make an impact though. In the CCC he never let us down when called on to provide cover at the back. Whether he is up to the Premier League remains to be seen.
  21. Don't listen to the fans
  22. Looks an impressive cv and very poluar at Blackburn but makes it absolutely essential to hang on to Pochettinho because his best friend is none other than.... .....Sam allardyce!
  23. Bt were still pointing out that he is probably the best goalkeeper in the premier league
  24. With all the money and politics spoiling the game this was a joy to watch. A great start by saints who really could and perhaps should have been 3 or 4 ahead before Sunderland had their first shot on goal. But what I really love about this game is how a freak goal threw the whole thing up in the air. After a while saints restored the order with great possession but still failed to make the most of possession. Full credit to Sunderland who hauled themselves back in the game not just against us but against their own fickle fans. The result was fair in the end and you've got to be relieved with a point against one of our bogey teams. More concerned about lovren and gaston than about the points dropped to be honest.
