  1. 51/4 off 8. We bat deep though.
  2. He’s got something of a point though, a lad is dying, nobody knows the facts and he’s been accused of racism without any foundation even at the time let alone in hindsight. Handcuffs shouldn’t have come out like that and the police need to reflect on that. BTW, I agree with that poster on most football, not on most non-football but looking at the incident in isolation I can understand why there’s anger. It’ll be misused of course by certain politicians but the police didn’t cover themselves in glory that night and lessons should be learned.
  3. Your views are very similar to mine, but like you I don’t have an issue with people having different ones. None of the fans asked to be dragged into this saga. I really don’t want SR to own the club but I can see how a siege mentality has taken hold from the onslaught by Middlesbrough, and some of the main media outlets.
  4. I have massive issues with SR overall but I do agree that the Middlesbrough obsession and certain media outlets eg BBC, Sky, Mail, Guardian, Telegraph, and has-beens like Henry Winter is plain weird and I’ve had a gutload of them. The punishment has been levied and it was very significant.
  5. It was an open question, trying to understand what people are referring to by identity politics because when the likes of Braverman spout off everyone under the sun gets pulled into it. Now we actually agree on the Nowak case as it happens, should never been handcuffed dying and the murderer is a vile disgrace claiming racism from a dying bloke when clearly lying and no facts established. A knife/sword that size is a dangerous and offensive weapon whatever the context is - religious or otherwise - and custody worthy of itself. Hope his mother and brother receive hefty sentences now covering for him.
  6. So say the Disability Discrimination Act, introduced under the Major government in 1994 and scooped up under the Equality Act 2010 by the coalition - is that identity politics? How is that weaponised anyone in making it possible for very talented people in a wheelchair or a neurodiverse to enabled to make a good living with small-scale, low/no cost reasonable adjustments? Or is that identity politics and the grievances some people feel are more to do with racial/ethnic identity or sexuality?
  7. Their line up does but the scores don’t. Sibley has far more shots than he used to have, and if he batted through at just over a run a ball others could slog around him. But not using him in the Blast so far.
  8. Surrey lost heavily to Kent, their batting failed badly. I watched Warks v Northants (latter won after a marvellous 115 no from former Hants overseas batter Lynn). Surrey were undone by Jake Lintott who took 4 wickets for very few runs (ex-Hants and Brave, bowls Chinaman eg left arm leggie). Warks let him go, have brought in Pakistan mystery spinner Usman Tariq and blooded a youngster but are also on a terrible run having lost the ability to take wickets in the middle overs.
  9. Decent start at 10 an over, can’t see that total causing us undue issues. Should be finished early and get down the M3.
  10. I’ve been to Corfu as well albeit 28 years ago (France 98 was on) and Albania is as close to Corfu as Sweden is to Denmark from Copenhagen. Transport links are much better now and it’s just 35 minutes and £40 from Corfu to Saranda so you don’t need to choose! https://www.helenabradbury.com/blog-1/corfu-to-albania-day-trip
  11. If Albert, Dawse (in Friday form), Stubbs and or Cartwright get established, there could be regular sixes hit.
  12. White ball career beckons - at best
  13. Being the first Cherokee Nation member to be a Secretary of State should be a considerable achievement. Unfortunely, it is marred by the fact he’s done by it being a Trump brown noser https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markwayne_Mullin
  14. Good summary, Fuller can bat and still quite a few mph quicker with the ball than Wood. Better fielder as well given Chris’s knees are held together with sellotape. Baker might well get smashed round but is learning to adapt with different deliveries and angles.
  15. Or Eddie Jack, who has taken three wickets this morning for England A v SA A at Beckenham. Mind you, Codi Yusuf took three wickets for them as England were bundled out for 193, Mayes out of a duck (one of Tiaan van Vuren’s 5 wickets). Failing that, just replace Wood with someone from the crowd.
  16. Has to do his bit to mitigate for his client but about as indefensible a behaviour and crime as they come for its type of offence. 130mph is my car’s top speed, I can’t imagine needing or wanting to use that on any road, let alone in a built-up area, without the aggravating add-on of laughing gas. And recording a video of their appalling behaviour.
  17. Body feeling better focusing on limited overs. 11 off the first three balls set the tone. He bowled well too. As you say, great learning for Manny where the bowlers were generally taking hammer. With the exception of Will Jacks and Chris Wood, Hants outbowled Surrey comprehensively.
  18. I was just about to post the same. Poor bloke around my age walking to work and gets mown down by those two cunts doing 130mph in a 30mph zone. And that’s without the Nitrous Oxide ballon, no insurance etc. The younger one was about to start an apprenticeship - lucky escape Network Rail and all who on travel on the railways. No consolation for the bloke they murdered though. Judge gave the strongest sentence they were able and GMP think it’s possibly a record for a single fatality incident. Why is it that scrotes like this never hit trees head on, end up killing innocent people or pets instead? Probation Service - no early release for these two please, however full the prisons are by 2037/38.
  19. 68-3 with Prest and Dawson tucking into the Surrey attack, with Tom Curran and Jordan Clark bowling too straight. Majid got mauled by Albert earlier on. Ahead of the rate by quite a bit, hopefully this stand builds between Prest and Dawse and then the overseas boys can smash us home with 2-3 overs to spare. 84-3 off 9 - good going lads. Shit - Curran has been crap but got Tom Prest out for 25. Well ahead on rate so keep our heads and should win.
  20. Helping Albert but Weatherley’s form lasted all of one game. Vince not quite off the plane yet. Toby Albert did well in the Blast last year, hopefully again as Stubbs and Cartwright can’t do it all every time. Balls - jinxed it, Albert out for 30. Go Dawse though, 11 off his first 3 balls!
  21. 1/63 off 4. Right in the slot for Clark every ball. When you’re pushing 40 and down at barely 70mph, at least have some variations on the crease, angles, moon balls, off/leg cuts. He’d be cannon fodder these days in the Hampshire leagues let alone county white ball. Unless he adopts spin and makes an amazing reinvention, he’s finished as a ‘pace’ bowler. Hopefully Vince, Stubbs and Cartwright do the business despite that. It’s like a little family firm with Wood there though. The nepotism is blatant. Coach ought to know better.
  22. Better sausage fingers than crisp packet wrists e.g. Gavin
  23. Surrey 143-8 but need to see both sides bat. All bowled very well bar Rod’s son in law who was decent many years ago.
  24. I get it, and hospitality has had a horrible few years. And the employers NI was not the way to go. But the public finances are still paying off Eat Out to Help Out and all of the furloughs. Has to be some give and take. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c78kg45yx0vo
  25. Raise the Colours are proud, non-violent patriots who want to spread love via the flag. And if you believed them, you’re an even bigger idiot than I thought you were https://metro.co.uk/2026/05/28/raise-colours-founder-billy-allison-charged-murder-bar-owner-28555599/
