  1. Most weeks I have a little browse over the opposition's forum to get a feel to how they see the fixture coming up, one thing you do notice, all messageboards have the same moaners, bullshitters and fuckwits. But one standout is that the majority of these Championship fans really dislike RM. Most don't rate him or his tactics and he's seen as arrogant and a bit of a *insert your expletive of choice* and only doing well as hie's got a big money squad. I like him, he's been through a bit in his time and I can understand rivals views - I can't lie, personally I don't find this football 'exciting', it's effective with these players most weeks in this division and you can't moan too much with results/league position but I did think I'd enjoy this season more than I actually am up to now..
  2. He did while throughout playing for them against us but it stemmed from when he played for Blackburn, think Ossie got sent off up there that day. ”Bailey, Ba-ai-ailey, Bailey come and he wanna go home” Edit: fanimal said it better!
  3. Great unbeaten run but...dull and boring. Great squad of players for this division but...dull and boring. Great crowd numbers home and away but...dull and boring. We're a match made in heaven.
  4. Ahem...South Central ambulance these days
  5. But as the title goes, songs about the city, Southampton, not Hampshire or anywhere else. Why would anyone want to sing that?
  6. Or maybe their fans are a little less cretinous than some others and would never sing one of the most dinlo things ever to be heard near a football ground. Probably that.
  7. Ooh, they were trying hard "hold me back Chardonnay, hold me back............"
  8. I mentioned on another thread a few days back that Everton used to sing "We all agree, Duncan Mackenzie is magic" (someone has since pointed out to me that Leeds started it when he was their player) it got most of the ground joining in. 'Kyle Walker Peters' would fit quite nicely into this. Can't remember anyone doing it since and probably a bit naff these days but couldn't be more simple for our fans that seem to struggle with chants these day.
  9. I must have been at a different game. Good win though.
  10. They're usually pretty good when they've come to St Mary's (big day out 😉) and would think they'll be up for it tomorrow, particularly as there will be an ex-Swan in the home dugout. But (no different to us and plenty more) they're also lamenting their own home support these days. Got to fancy us but may not be particularly pretty to watch again. Side note; FA Cup third round draw on Monday, we're number 36, the skates are............oh..........
  11. You beat me to it, was going to mention that after reading the ‘starter pistol’ post earlier but had run out of posts. A few years older than me but heard plenty of tales over the years. Good to hear he had a good send off and very appropriate his wake was up the Muni where he spent many hours with his docker mates.
  12. We could easily have been 2, maybe 3, down at the break, yep we picked up and thankfully scored early which killed their game plan and you can't complain about another 3 point. But I want to feel the joy but watching us most games it's Puel levels of excitement and certainly not the way most of envisaged us performing in this league, particularly with the funds for players at our disposal. Shipping out Adams and getting in another (injury free/proven) striker is now a priority as it's beginning to look like we're not going to be able to rely on Ross Stewart turn out every week.
  13. RM on the Venables tribute before kick-off: "He was a legend of the game and well ahead of his time when you see what everyone has said about him. To go and manage Barcelona back then as an Englishman is amazing. He gave me some of my best memories of watching football with his England team". I guess he was more English than Scottish when we dumped them out of Euro 96, he's just gone up in my estimation.
  14. Back in the 70s Everton used to belt out… ”We all agree, Duncan MacKenzie is magic” it got most of their crowd involved - Kyle Walker Peters would slot in there OK - bit of a struggle trying to fit that mouthful into a chant!
  15. That was definitely an early 80s thing for a very small bunch of our dinlos at the back of the Milton. What the fuck it had to do with Southampton and giving support to a football team only they would know.
  16. Thank fuck for that, another weird one from the thickos. Anyone uttering anything about strawberries, ferries or skates should immediately be lined up against the wall and shot.
  17. This is not really a new thing, as long as I've been going there has been an...eclectic...mix amongst our fanbase. I started going regularly over 50 years ago and our support has always been a bit hit and miss. The Dell was great on its day but it certainly suffered as being one of the only grounds in the country not to have a bank of covered terracing behind the goal for home fans like most others around the country that became the focal point for the more vociferous fan (until it went all seater). And the fact we almost totally ignored the lower league skates up until really the 80s, was one of the biggest reason their "scummer hate" really festered from the late 60s through the 70s. We lived in their fucking heads by ignoring the dinlos. The first time I remember our lot giving them attention in a chant was the " We are Southampton, the pride of the south..." it started well then rapidly went downhill with 'lyrics' that made no sense whatsoever. Typical of some of our support from that point, stupid songs that made no sense and they still do it these days with a strange need for shoe-horning words with too many syllables into chants. It just seems a lot of ours just ain't very bright, we've got more than our own fair share of dinlos.
  18. We sold out the full allocation of just over 2,300 over a week ago so plenty of time to get more if available so can only think Huddersfield just don't want an entire end full of away fans. Can't blame them.
  19. We're talking Teflon 'arry, nothing to see here....................
  20. Now received the full allocation of 2925 tickets https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/match/coventry-city-vs-southampton-english-football-league--championship-2023-12-13
  21. There's someone looking for tickets for Watford on the Saints Away forum https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/60509-watford-spare-wanted/ Someone else also has a couple of Huddersfield tickets up for grabs https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/60507-huddersfield-tickets-for-sale/
  22. Looks like it - doesn't appear to be on sale to home fans https://www.eticketing.co.uk/huddersfieldtown/EDP/Event/Index/3103
  23. Just had a nose on their forum and they are not in good place right now. All doom and gloom and expecting a rinsing on Saturday - apparently they only had 3 touches in Hull’s penalty area in 98 mins last time out. This sold out for Saints over a week ago so looks like we won’t be getting any more tickets, would have heard something by now. Bit strange, the rest of that end will be empty, guess they don’t need the revenue.
  24. You're probably right in it being an initial allocation. It is midweek but considering we took over 1,600 up to Preston (also live on Sky) which is a further 100 miles+ north of Cov, then I'd think we'll shift them fairly easily and be looking for more.
