  1. Surely the 28 days applies to any creditor who wishes to appeal, so even if HMRC had decided to appeal earlier nothing material could have happened until the 28 days were up in case someone else chose to appeal on similar grounds. Therefore it made bugger all difference whether HMRC appealed after 1 day or 27 days. These comments are just another example of AA talking drivel to try to cover up his inadequacy or inappropriate behaviour in the role. K.
  2. Was Jaberwocky signed on big wages by Redknapp as well? ;-) K.
  3. All that is needed now to make me a very happy man is for Redknapp and Storrie to go to jail for allegedly doing what the tax man allegedly says they allegedly did, allegedly. Btw was I the only person gobsmacked at media suggestions that Redknapp might become England manager with the court case hanging over him? K.
  4. Well I'd never heard of Zucillini before I read this thread and I have absolutely no idea whether he will sign or not. I felt the public had a right to know that. My source is "direct from the horse's mouth" before anyone asks. K.
  5. Bit harsh. There was one season (was it our last in the CCC?) when he looked to be one of our best players, as a battling ball-winning centre midfielder. Then he was left out under a new manager ,and then I agree, on the few occasions when he did play for us he seemed to have lost form. The fact that he did well for Donnie in the championship on loan, well enough for them to be upset when he returned to us and well enough for them to re-sign him, surely implies he is pretty good, at least by Champ /L1 standards? We failed to make the best of him IMO K.
  6. Got ours in the post yesterday too. Of course I still can't park though. ;-) K.
  7. Haven't even had a reply! It's not so much the price rise that irritates, especially if it is just to meet costs, it is the complete lack of communication. We're having to make repeated efforts to find out about this, and have yet to succeed. If this were a business with normal customers instead of addicted fans like us, they'd have lost custom by now. As it is, even I'm getting pretty ****ed off. Doubt I'll go to many cup games next season for example if my parking ticket doesn't cover those games as people on here are saying...especially evening games. It's a real rush for me to get to evening games after work and if I have to mess about with parking as well as getting cup tickets, chances are I won't bother. Apathy will win. So that's a minimum of 2 tickets' worth of income they'll have lost per cup game. k.
  8. Well I sent this email (below in italics) to the club over the weekend . No reply as yet. In fact the carparking@ email address as stated on the last communication we had from them bounced, so unless David Luker replies no one will. Not good customer service is it? I've had a parking season ticket for quite a few years and am seeking information about renewal. When we paid for our match season tickets 4 weeks ago we asked about parking but were told that information would be given out in about 3 weeks time, ie about a week ago. Over the past few days I've heard rumours about parking tickets being available albeit with a big price rise and also rumours about the car park we use (B) being closed. My wife rang the main club number yesterday. The person she spoke to had no information, but supposedly went to find out. There was then overheard a conversation in the background to the effect that 'it was another b***** parking enquiry', and then the phone was simply put down on her. Please could you clarify what *is* happening about parking? My customer number is ..... K
  9. It's certainly good news that we haven't sold anyone ..in spite of the Lambert and Lallana rumours etc. However we have lost/let go our first choice right back, plus Antonio and Waigo, so there are some gaps to fill. I was really surprised and disappointed we didn't sign Antonio btw. He could well develop like Kenwynne Jones did ..young ,with lots of raw talent that just needs developing the right way. Maybe there's still time, but there's been no gossip about a deal with Reading. Anyway the first team is going away on the 8th according to the OS, so surely we'll want any major signings that are likely to be first team regulars to be with them by then ..and that's only days away. K.
  10. Am beginning to gt a bit concerned. Yes we clearly have the core of a good team, but also we obviously do need a few signings ...especially a right back for god's sake. My concern is based on the fact that Pardew said last season, with justification, that he'd had no proper pre-season to work with the team, and that was why we had such a poor start to the season. Well I woud have thought we'd want the new right back and any other new regular first choice player signed pretty soon, or we will have another incomplete pre-season, with presumably another poor start. Any free agent for example will even be missing out on pre-season fitness training now. K.
  11. Lol But seriously it's tough on poorly paid shop and catering staff to have to pay to park to come to work. Presumably the players will have pay twice, since all those porsche cayennes, bmw x5's etc, take up two spaces. K.
  12. Damn silly comment. Is public tranport free then? And if you take your argument to its logical conclusion, why not just stay at home? K.
  13. My opinion is that Cortese as a banker has little or no experience of dealing directly with customers en masse. Unfortunately it appears he hasn't made use of others who do have such experience. K.
  14. Bloody hell. The gravel yard is where I have parked too. And they 'hope to get some letters out soon'! So as poor communiations as for the season tickets themselves. Customer service this isn't. K.
  15. I am a parking season ticket holder. I have not been told anything about next (this!) 's year arrangements. Where did the OP get this informnation please? There's nothing on the OS that I can see. No one has written to me etc. K.
  16. That's interesting. The last email I had from the club was in January, so they do have my address, yet I did not receive any ST renewal details by any means. Had I not kept an eye on this site and the OS I would know nothing about them. I wonder if I was just unlucky and overlooked. Did other ST-holders get an email reminder? K. PS Still no information about car parking season ticket btw
  17. It's such a shame that the first African world cup has been ruined as an international television event by this. Just think how moving it would have been to hear 80,000 south African fans signing their anthem, Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika, during a game. K. PS BBC red button allows just-about-synchronised transmission of the radio 5 commentary, which seems to have the commentators' voices louder in relation to the background buzz, compared to the main tv commentary. It's marginally better IMO
  18. Well and to be fair McDonald has been a great success in the SPL....leading scorer? By accounts at the time we only let him go because of concerns about his attitude , not his talent. Looking forward to the 'skills of Henry and speed of Theo'. Just hope that's not handball skills and speed when injured yet again. K.
  19. It looks as if South Africa will be the first home nation ever to go out at the group stage of a World Cup, even though there have been some pretty rubbish home teams...arguably worse than S.Africa. Why is that? Maybe it's because there is no real home advantage when no one can bloody well tell who the crowd are supporting. The constant drone of these oversized kazoos gives as much 'support' or lack of it to the away team as it does to the home one. I realise that most of those saying yes to them are merely trolling, but even so, bring them into British football and I stop going. I could of course sit at home instead by a silent DVD of old Saints games with 2 smoke alarms and 3 alarm clocks going off around me to get the authentic football experience cheaper, but more likely I'll take up bowls ... it'll have more atmosphere! K. K.
  20. Not only have they not written about STs and apparently will not be doing so, but there's been no information even on the web site about car parking ticket renewal. I know it's done by a different lot than the STs but why is that my concern? As a customer or a supporter whichever you prefer semantically, I surely ought to be reactive to the club's marketing -- not having to be proactive to find out what the hell is going on? K.
  21. Well if this appears then I've finally managed to access the new forum via my blackberry. If anyone else is having problems switching off java in the blackberry browser settings seem to make the difference. Will also look at the alternative browsers others suggest. Thanks k. K.
  22. It's a fairly new blackberry curve actually, but I'll try changing the settings. Thanks K.
  23. I know for a nailed on fact that it's Nottm Forest and Notts County K.
  24. I've now finally managed to log in on my blackberry ..just repeated attempts finally succeeded.. but it now refuses to get any further than the index list of posts. When I try to view any actual thread it says 'file too large to download'. This is a real downer Steve. The forum used to fill boring train journeys to and from London. So the fancy new look is actually a reduction in functional service. K.
  25. Lots of discussion on BBC and elsewhere Apparently there is no way to electronically tune the noise out. However they could of course choose to simply turn up the commentators' sound track in comparison to the stadium one. That would mean less background noise overall --still no way to hear any singing or cheering, so even less atmosphere. Seems to me though that TV broadcasters could offer a turned down background noise version via the red button so viewers could choose. Doesn't seem much to ask to offer a choice of commentary when during wimbledon etc you can choose which match to watch. K.
