  1. Indeed, many of this wave are the middle classes, with the cash to be mobile, those in real need may have been left behind. Some of them have different motives altogether: http://i.imgur.com/faQVRak.jpg/IMG] Which is a little concerning. Government rhetoric over the past years has been about concern of British IS fighters returning, though now it seems completely forgotten, and they should all be welcomed without question according to Merkel. I think the Tory strategy, tackling the issue at source, taking refugees at source, is the best chance of avoiding importing terrorists into the country, though not bullet proof by any means.
  2. That is shocking and insulting to the Hungarians who have tried to provide refuge, shelter, food and safety. Farcical really. With Merkal now saying the migrants that arrive in Germany will be divided out over Europe, I wonder how they will react judging by the behaviour in Greece and Hungary.
  3. It seems around 70/80% are men I there 20-30s, with iPhones, Rayban sunglasses, Nike trainers etc (that the Hungarians providing refuge can barely afford), so, how many are: ISIS cells Turks et al blagging it ?
  4. The images are certainly very powerful. The media do seem to be focusing on children, mothers etc, who are indeed the people who should be given priority, to get the shock factor. Regarding the post above, it was alarming to see the children and women being pushed out of the way onto these trains by the men this morning on SkyNews. I do not understand why a parent would risk putting their children in an overcrowded dinghy in the middle of the night with no life jacket, knowing they cannot swim, for a life threatening journey between Turkey and Greece, two equally safe and stable countries. On the whole I think it is right to use the imagery, though one concern is whether it may also artificially distort the reality of the situation (that the overwhelming majority of the migrants/refugees are men). Migration figures are generally a pretty even 50/50 male/female split, so I think it needs to be questioned as to why this scenario is so vastly different to the norm. Very uncertain times ahead.
  5. It's not due to his legs... 'arry didn't care to put it one way What was his job prior to going pro?
  6. Nigel Craig Mackill Smith, former £3m man, scored for Luton earlier vs skates! Liverpool 0-3 West Ham!
  7. Done, I would also enjoy a summary of your findings. All the best.
  8. Signed, f*ck em. An insult to Leyton Orient. Is this a bit too late? They are moving in next summer, conversion work must be underway by now, funded by the nation of course.
  9. Skate sent off for violent conduct
  10. Fair enough Gemmel! I just prefer to watch the Saints for the occasion and day out now (Holland was outstanding), I enjoy new players emerging through the ranks like many, but the rest is all rather inevitable for me. I have lost that element and emotional attachment to the game(/players, SFC mean nothing to them really lets face it) with all the big money etc, I just don't worry about it now. COYRs
  11. I actually still believe that! I don't worry any more, nor do I sing players names , it's embarrassing IMO, oh well, I am numb to the situation that we find ourselves in! We march on.
  12. A few sh*tters installed and now anything is possible, this is harbourdrome delusion at a division 4 level, they're funny! They had to crowdfund some fences and a portakabin with a ping pong table, not sure how this 2-year old loss making entity is going to be able to borrow 300% of their annual turnover to fund each of these "phases". To quote the honest Russian Mr Dubov "half a billion pounds passed through this club", it's all a bit late now with a tin pot income and a fragmented ownership with no benefactor. That's before we consider that they are completely landlocked by the supermarket in exchange for a token backhander and sole tarmac. So in summary, I'm all for it. PMSL Hi Corp/Banker, see you on POL
  13. He might have got in the way of the horses, they went straight into the mix without warning! I was in the Korenmarket at the time, watched a group of lads strolling in trying to look hard as nails, no foam hands or anything, they looked English, saw a couple being bundled away by riot police although most were at the station after the game. The locals were blaming Feyenoord fans, I guess some saints just got caught up in it all. I don't get why people go to such an effort for a punch up, much more fun getting sh*tfaced IMO.
  14. Obligatory email sent, don't think we've had a fans love-in like this since Southend! Great time in Arnhem and Holland, couldn't have asked for a better away day.

    Calais

That supports many peoples questions as to why people are passing multiple EU states to head to the UK, the French must feel insulted that people don't wish to stay! Kos has received 10K with a population of 30K, quite a figure. We take a fair whack of EU economic migrants too, not sure how our %s work on that basis. It has been surmised before that all in we are taking on a population increase the size of the city of Southampton each year, which is mind boggling considering our housing shortages, crumbling NHS etc.
  16. Missed the boat there by about 15 minutes... blimey! Home end it is then.
  17. Tall chap, blonde/brown hair, glasses hanging on top button, leaving corporate seats with lady, I did wonder
  18. Bloke on my train adamant to his associate there is a done deal, they're happy checked the threads but no mention!

    Calais

It surely needs to be considered, it is a disaster and one that will continue to get worse and worse. 2000+ (according to this mornings Metro) stormed the tunnel overnight, with only 200 staff to try and stop them. It can't be a nice work environment right now for them, I certainly wouldn't want to have to deal with such a threat. The lorry drivers must feel like they're running the gauntlet every time they try to move through Calais.
  21. Love the new logo
  22. I looked into the ticketbox/tobacco stand offering though it looked like you had to sign up to a membership scheme using a Dutch address to post your ID to. Would be great if it has been relaxed, to remove any doubt!
  23. Nice one Mouldy! I put this link here to swerve the Vitesse FC/SFC club lurkers on the Euro thread, have a read up. Looks like you need to register for the service before you can buy footy tickets: http://www.worldticketing.biz/customersnl.html
  24. amazing opportunity for a local person to enter the world of ticket touting.
