Speculative hyperbole. Like VFTT I agree, are they honestly suggesting that the Board didn't try to keep him? Was the Echo in on the negotiations? Both sides of business negotiate from a position of strength and there's usually some form of compromise. In this case Pochettino had the better hand. He had sufficient funds to buy out his contract and did so. Spurs didn't have to pay the 'buy out' as they weren't contracted to SFC. Had they done so SFC would have sledge hammered them.MP went because 'Money is the motivator when greed is the norm' e.g. Bale, RVP, Rooney, Robbie Savage et al. I have supported Saints since Jan 1957.Players and managers have come and gone, some good, some average and the usual 'How the hell did we get him?' group too. However, I still see the SAME fans who's loyalty is legion.(Five, sometimes seven, of us travel all the way down from Shropshire/Staffordshire and places further North to see our Saints) We'll survive this and go from strength to strength, it's the Southampton way. I felt gutted at the way NA was dismissed but I am not disappointed MP has now gone. We'll be back next season and still support our lads. Who in their right mind invited him to adjudicate on his own team? Lets have a Player from EVERY team in the Prem adjudicating on MOTD to ensure a 'balanced view' unlike Linnekar et al!
