would he be happy with only 45 minutes every week though?

Who would we see Crainie as a replacement for? We look 'ok' across the back and don't see Crainie bettering it.
-
Agree. In light on general opinion and the poll, crack on.

Genuinely the size of the thread is not a technical issue. I think the Pompey Takeover thread proves that. The feeling was that these massive threads can wander off topic, restarting has the effect of re-focussing. Honestly I am not arsed either way, I'll only ever remove threads if there is a clear duplication. As for the trolling and idiocy, if you spot it - report it.

I couldn't imagine you being more powerful than a AA battery if that helps?

There is a third way. Keep a rumours and a HCDAJU thread but non-stickied, that way it will rise to top on merit. If a particular player gathers any credence I am sure that a thread will be opened. Given that it is the silly season there are not too many active threads anyway. Suggest we batch it so as not to create such a huge thread.

Ridiculous decision to overturn it
-
The reason the other thread was closed because it was impossible to discuss individual rumours amongst everything else. As others have said, there is no point replacing one catch-all thread with another. Hypo, if you want to start a thread on Keogh, please do.

Sold it 3 years ago.

Apologies, thought I had put this thread out of it's misery earlier. To correct a point above, I understand Registered Users can start threads.
-
I see that the rumours thread is dead, therefore this one has served it's purpose.

If memory serves me right Connolly was the fittest in last years equivalent.
-
On that pleasant note we'll end this thread. Anything credible on Monk please start a new thread given 50% off this one is bickering.

Love it, would just love it.

Think Mr Schneiderlin would steal his crown as best passer in the club. Genuinely excited that we are likely going into the next three seasons with the sort of centre-forward we'd hate to face ourselves each week.

'The Car Park' sub-forum has a ring to it!
-
My personal view is that the site suffers quality wise when news is slow as others have mentioned. The other point to note is that the amount of vitriol we get on the forum is directly proportional to the performance of the team, eg we are on winning run all fine - concede a sloppy goal end of the world. I must admit I am looking forward to the polarised views on the new kits, complaints about the new beer, Alpine's 'Centre Back watch', NickG's form table after one game, Dalek's insight on our failure to re-appoint Hoddle and Dubai Phil's continuing demise in to a nun fancying alchy on matchdays with renewed vigour this season. One thing for sure, a huge number of posters will hark back to the good old days of S4E and how it was on here - and a huge number of new members will find a welcome here and think it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Biggest Flop Signing & Low Expectation That Came Good

Dan Harding in modern times for being great. Rudi had Messi level hype but delivered less than above. -

Ironic given he was pinging it a 6ft 8 inch beanpole in the form of his life,

Just so nobody puts in a cheeky edit.

They are currently paying Ben-Haim on the never-never, why is this such a difficult leap. The ownership of Pompey has been murky for the last two years, wouldn't be surprised to find links back to Arcadi at some point. It's all a front, high wages = high turnover = more cash to move around etc.
