Hell yes!!!

Bringing in a 'bigger fish' could destroy what we have, keep it to people who feel they have something to prove by stepping up rather then feeling they are dropping down as a stepping stone.

A general feeling. The intense pride of supporting Saints during the last 12 months...... and knowing it'll probably never be this good again.
-
I think they were being sarcastic.

Watching the Man Utd game at a wedding reception in yorkshire and getting complimentary words from all the guests for our performance, much to the chagrin of the few plastics in attendance. Seeing us at Walsall away and believing it just may not be this year... Jonno Forte against the McDons, and realising it actually just might be! The late winner against Brighton, leading me to run screaming through the streets of Hereford in delight. Walsall at home, just total joy. Leeds at home, already mentioned of course.... I don't think any of us expected that totally joyful re-introduction to the second tier. The subsequent home games v Brum, Boro, Wham, Watford etc. Coventry away, bragging rights over my neighbours at last!!! Seeing us destroy Brighton while abroad on an obscure Italian cable channel.... and getting bought drinks by the impressed locals. Blackpool at home, just loved the come-back and the banter in town afterwards. The result went against us but for the rest of the day, the atmosphere was perfect. Rickie vs the Skates and the atmosphere in 'The Eclipse' in Winchester during that. Two skates showed up before the start.... and promptly left when they saw it full to the brim of Saints.

Yeah, let's do a Ward-Prowse on it.

The "why did they think I would want that for christmas" thread
Colinjb replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
Yes, because the stadium is open on Christmas day too. -
It is how Manchester City operated regarding Kaka. They had the resources to sign him but at the time the club wasn't in the position to make the move credible. The ambition that showed may have played a part in opening the ideas of the likes of David Silva, Yaya Touré and others to listening to what they had to say. Any publicity can be good publicity if manipulated in the right way, as such I wouldn't think it odd at all.
-
Ok, assuming this is in any way true. It could be as much about raising profile then any genuine chance of signing the guy. A signal of intent for the future that will hopefully ensure we are taken seriously by other clubs in the footballing community. Of course, it needs that assumption in the first place.

You seem to be having quite a day of it mate! An extractor vent would be ideal in my bathroom too. If anyone has any experience with these I would also be grateful for advice.
-
My impression too, a statement of 'No, look, they are not good enough!'
-
Hang on, didn't he score against us last year?

Oh mate. It gets better.... -
Amazing the differences that occur between two websites of Saints fans.
-
Don't expect too much magic at the Ricoh, with their boycotting fans and cavernous stadium. For those of us going it will be quiet, erie and a damp squip. A win should be more then possible. But the experience will be extremely flat.
-
No need mate, I think it's fair that we have established all cities have their bad element.
-
Or Dalek insisting to him that we will be finishing 17th, and our continued use of him as the main striker showing a lack of ambition.

Money, honestly, my unimaginative family. What am I meant to do with that when the pubs are shut? -
Hopefully the authorities see it that way.
-
Then I guess we'll soon know one way or another.
-
He may be a doubt for their next game. No sh*t!!!!!
-
All cities mate, all cities. Compared to Coventry (my home) Southampton is utterly tranquil. Yet they are still out there, with the massive chip on their shoulder looking to take down anyone that winds them up.
-
Maybe so, but there are a lot of relevant questions based purely on the face value of the situation. Another Saints player apparently (at this stage) in a bar fight.... and of all players of most important one.
-
As of right now, only next year matters. We have won and achieved NOTHING yet. A strong foundation is nothing without a strong finish.
-
If, and I do mean, 'if' this turns out to be true, then this indicates a serious flaw in our discipline. First Lee, then Danny and now possibly Rickie. City centres are full of ars*holes and trusting the player is one thing but trusting the randoms around is quite another.
