  1. Equally inspired by Harry Redknapp at West Ham. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/sep/05/harry-redknapp-played-fan-west-ham
  2. It would basically be the same as following Eastleigh. Drinks in Southampton/Eastleigh/Winchester wherever you come from and then bus/train/taxi in. It would have made for an answer to those 'closest together football grounds' quiz questions, doubt the Spitfires would be in the conference now if we had moved next to them.

    Nigel Adkins

To have an opportunity to follow us between 2010 and 2013..... That will not be repeated. Nigel Adkins has given us the most incredible memories. Echoing Red above, that Coventry game. Having commuted from that City for my season ticket for so long, it meant so much personally. Couldn't care less for the revisionist hindsight on what we could have done. We DID get back to back promotions from League 1 to the Premier League. Nigel Adkins made that happen, with a smile a candid interview and a determination to keep on 'chipping away.' Love the guy.
  4. Couldn't agree more with Hypochondriac's sentiment..
  5. My take away from this is that teams know how to play against us, exactly as they did in the second half of last season. Sit deep, mark our strikers out and be hard to break down. We havn't got enough individual flair to be a pain so if you can keep us under wraps you have a chance on the break. Defensively we are better this year but still vulnerable to the same sucker punches as before. What worked against West Ham and Man City came unstuck against Wolves today.
  6. I already posted this in the replacement Skate thread. It's a well done piece, albeit without mentioning HMRC's leniency.
  7. For anyone wishing to take a trip down memory lane....
  8. Cross palms with enough silver and anything can happen
  9. You say that, the Saxo/106 still look alright. Always had a soft spot for this particular Citroen too, they wouldn't make it now of course. But, it had something. A colleague had one, god it was comfortable.
  10. Ordered a copy too. Been too long since i've enjoyed a good read.
  11. That may have been the intention, alas, didn't work out that way. How to waste the Gareth Bale and Kenwynne Jones money. At least it was just like watching Brazil at times... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7076446.stm
  12. Indeed, He left a club playing in Europe to join us.....
  13. Peak Stephens. Right there.
  14. If he hasn't figured that out after the same stuck record since January then he will not change now!
  15. Ralph just doesn't learn anything does he? If we can just keep the score down today we will have done well. What a pity for the first proper home crowd in so long.
  16. I would say that Yoshi at his best would improve us now, for what it's worth. Tying to look at a bright side here. My gut feeling is that we are signing a quick show pony with only a small amount of defensive ability.
  17. This feels a little bit like when we signed Yoshi. 24 years old, came from leftfield, from circumstances that didn't inspire confidence. He worked out. No, these are not straws..... What are you talking about?
  18. Not much defending in that compilation. He's going to get caught in possession a bit.

    Adam Armstrong

Makes me think of players like Lee Barnard. He was amazing in League 1, looked as though he could really push on. Did nothing at Championship level and then his career absolutely faded away. Rather then joining us as we achieved back to back promotions being the making of his career it seemed to utterly kill it.
  20. Adarabioyo would fit us perfectly, just worried about what Fulham would demand for him.
  21. But it isn't, is it? He has had over two years with the club showing certain worrying signs. A full summer to train and drill the players to be as prepared as they can be and the same things are being repeated........ I want him sacked because the same mistakes are being made repeatedly regardless of circumstance.
  22. Trying to find positives.... Aside from Adam Armstrong i'm struggling. The fact you can write the script for every single Saints performance without even needing to watch the game is the worst damnation of Ralph's time in charge. 1. Hope building promising first half, possibly with a goal if you are really lucky. 2. Poor second half with the team getting worse throughout, we will fail to adapt to any moves the opposing manager makes and conceed soft goals. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. There's just no point right now and will not be until Ralph is put out of his seemingly increasing misery.
  23. I am frankly appalled at those who are both simultaneously appalled and indifferent to it. 7 arrive next Wednesday. How's life chap?
  24. Threads like this really are a microcosm for society in general. Great reading.
  25. So long and thanks for all the fish.
