  1. The last time Newcastle won anything my Dad was at Uni. They have hardly been prolific in their history and in the recent past they have been less succesful then Middlesbrough, the Skates and Wimbledon. Newcastle are a mid sized club with unrealistic and overblown ambition, and they are now paying for it. They have good annual turnover because they sold themselves to the worlds media as something sepcial when they are not, very soon that will dry up. The media portrays them as a big club because thats what they want and Keegan's time in the sun with them in the mid 90's gave them merit. Now they are second teir it will all very quickly revert back to type, the far eastern 'fans' couldn't give a f*ck if the play S****horpe and Blackpool. Ashley had a plan to run the club that was made untenable by their wonderful fans. He wanted to craft a sustainable infrastructure that could deliver youth players and supliment the first team and make them competitive like Arsenal have managed under Wenger. The 'fans' rejected it, mainly because, a) They thought Dennis Wise was a poor appointment as DOF because he was from London and b) They wanted Keegan to have a free reign regardless of consequence. Keegan threw the same tantrum he did in the early 90's, despite KNOWING FULL WELL what Ashley wanted to do and demanded full control of every aspect of the footballing side of Newcastle Utd. This was against the contract he signed when he took over and rightfully he was dismissed. After seeing the 'Fans' reaction Ashley tried to compromise and get him back, but to no avail.... Keegan the child helped to bring down Newcastle Utd, not that the geordies would ever see it. Now, a pariah and scapegoat Ashley wanted away from these ingrates who couldn't see that he had saved them from administration or worse by sinking hundreds of millions into a debt ridden club and got nothing but death threats and hatred. He had got in too deep to something he underestimated, no doubt, and now he was paying for it. He wanted out, who wants to manage a team with uncertain ownership!? The inevitable followed. Who is to blame for their demise, all parties. The fans for being idiots and having ideas above their station and no persepective about the staff involved in their club. Anyone who has seen MOTD can tell in three seconds that Shearer is not management material, yet they hailed him as a messiah. Fools. Keegan for being a big baby and not abiding by the terms of the contract he signed with Ashley, he felt he could overule him because he is King Kev, incorrect. The spiral his departure created resulted in relegation. Mike Ashley, for not realising how sh*te football fans can be if they hate you, regardless of your intent, plans and better intentions, if you don't 'fit,' you're f*cked. - The most innocent victim as far as I can tell, but not blameless by any means. That club deserves everything it gets.
  2. More fool you. Just sit in the sun naked next chance you get, it'll lessen it. Oh, just watch for sun burn on the penis, thats a killer.

    Skates

You are 44 years old and spend your time on a Saints forum!? God man get a life.

    Skates

If he was a double agent in our relegation, is he now a 'triple' agent or something.

    Skates

Poor little Skate. Always with a chip on his shoulder. Hope the descent over the next few seasons doesn't make you cry.

    Skates

Big clubs do not average less then 10,000 fans in a season where they are challenging for the play-offs. Your time in the sun is coming to an end. I hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.

    Skates

'Skates looking forward to Modest Future' Well, considering their fanbase, stadium and infrastructure it surely should come very naturally to them.

    Skates

Indeed, a truly terrifying prospect for their premier league opponents. Has Eugen Bopp signed yet too? Also, Belhadj and Utaka on their way. So that will leave Kanu and Nugent up front? Wow

    Skates

Do love that despite this 'takeover,' they are still described as cash strapped.
  10. It couldn't happen to nicer bunch of narrow minded, dellusional inbreds.
  11. Indeed. It just seems far too good to be true.
  12. Do like that.
  13. A team that secured automatic qualification to the Europa League no less.
  14. Hang on, 3-0!? I don't know how to feel right now.....
  15. I would credit him as saving the club from oblivion. He has been the only person involved pre-Leibherr who actually put HIS money where his mouth and heart is. Regardless of his merits as a chairman he deserves everyone's gratitude.
  16. Regardless of their intention they set us back by a month in terms of preperations for this season. Therefore whichever way you look at it, in our current position they damaged us.
  17. That is an insult to Jermaine Wright. #shudders# Incidentally, he's available on a free you know.
  18. labour/tories/whoever out!
  19. Hope McLaren are further up the front. I have heard rumblings of their relationship souring with Mercedes, so it has to be good for them. (Having said that, when someone owns 40% of you, just how bad can a fall out be?)
  20. Why do I find it a relief that we have a manager who wants players who will 'perform' every week..... am I that deprived of competance!?
  21. I would be impressed.... just to clarify.
  22. He would be absolutely I-*******-deal.
  23. ;)Not this again.....
  24. Jakobsson was ok, but so far short of the player he needed to replace that his signing was rendered futile. Couldn't believe that we had signed the same Callum Davenport who I had seen playing superbly for Coventry.

    Rocky...

I bet it's the only film franchise in history where the 4th film is the best one. Glad the last film was made though, the thought of finishing it all with Rocky V makes me shudder.
