Bit of a low blow. 'Our political opinions are contradictory therefore I wish your kind to be eradicated from the gene pool!' Easy tiger!!!!
  2. Simples. Beat them, we win it.
  3. We HAVE to keep this form going. This club is finally showing the potential it has. The future will be bright if managed well. Come on boys, surely, after 5 years of sh*te it is our time.
  4. Two dominating centre backs. They are corner fodder. Simples.
  5. You have certain had a good night mate! Good man! Irvine has essentially marginalised Trotman. Hopefully a sign he will come our way.
  6. I still wonder how we got him on any kind of arrangement in the first place to be honest.
  7. Wow, even though they have games in hand we are only 1 point off the team above us now. We WILL survive and we can push on, the season is looking so much brighter, we finally have a Saints team who can compete. The future is bright....

It has been made quite clear over the last few months that the Gordon Brown administration is NOT New Labour.

Thats already happened though. In many cases it's easier to cheat the system then work. A friend of mine would get more money in claiming from the welfare state then by working, yet to set an example for his daughter he persists. The emphasis should surely be on providing the impetus for people getting back into work rather then taking an easier, more lucrative option. Too many people have sunk into this benefit claiming subculture, getting them back into work is the key to getting out of this rut, looking at the other end of the spectrum is too short term in outlook.

As pointed out by the bar economics post though, that can be counter productive if pushed too far.

You have surely just undone your own arguement by saying firstly that the rich don't necessarily contribute because the focus on money is missleading, yet that they should put more money in anyway. Surely the focus should be on getting elements of society who are not contributing back into the loop?
  21. You tell us.
  22. Correct.

The crucial paragraph. Having lived with the risk of redundancy throughout the last 10 months I find the public sector's attitude utterly repugnant, especially when there is a fair percentage whose jobs can't really justify their existance in the first place! (And no I don't include nurses, doctors, firefighters or the military in that bracket, those people are the backbone of the public sector, not the needless beaurocrats who soak up big saleries without any justifiable reason for existing.)

Where did I say 'all poor = leaches.' How dare you, stop putting words into my mouth to justify your blinkered perspective. I have issues with benefit cheats and the socialist ideal, not hards workers on lower incomes who are being as badly undermined by the existing labour government as any high earner. Get that chip off your shoulder chap.
