My Dad and I have ST's, will probably renew tomorrow. Will need to check my Dad's date of birth though, I'm not 100% sure but I think he may be 64, so now an adult again rather than an OAP. I don't remember giving them his DOB when I got the tickets 1st time round, so are they likely to ask me to prove his age, or will they believe me if I say he is now 65? Anyone had problems doing this?

Pompey's Clinton's Cards shop have reported disappointing sales in the run up to Father's day. Apparently none of the locals know who their father is.

No, I agree that it probably will not change the opinion of many rapists, but it may change the opinions of idiots like the policeman that started this whole craze and hopefully society as a whole. When a person in a position of power comes out with such drivel it needs to be challenged. A debate about a subject like this is always a good thing. Hopefully next time this issue come up with your mates down the pub, one or two of them should agree that women should be able to wear what they like, with out people making comments about them "asking to get raped" Comments like this feed the notion that there really are women out there asking to get raped, and therefore the act is in someway excuseable. As I have said before, we don't think all the women at the swimming pool are asking to get raped, so why should we feel this way about women wearing significantly more than swimming costumes when on a night out? The slut walk is about challenging this type of misconception.
-
But if there are two women dressed "slutily" walking home together late at night and a single women dressed conservativly on her own, the one one her own is going to get raped isn't she. And the reason for this is that rape is non-consensual therefore rapists will chose the victim he is most likely to overcome. The issue of how the women are dressed is just clouding the real issue. There are men out there who have no respect for women and will satisfy their sexual greed regardless of the way in which the woman is dressed. The slut walk highlights the fact that the way a women was dressed is just a red herring and an sad excuse used by sick men.
-
I agree with the idea behind the slut walk. The candian policeman that started the controversy implied that women were the cause of rape by the way they dressed. That is just not true. Rapists cause rapes. Go to a public swimming pool or a beach in the middle of summer, there are scantily clad women everywhere. So would it be their fault if they are raped too? If we apply the same logic, surely they are all asking for it, and us poor men can only assume that women dressed like that are giving out an invitation for sexual attention. But somehow the male population can control themselves in this environment, so why is it so different in a pub/club/walking home after a night out? Hopefully the slut walk will get the message through some men's thick skulls that they way a woman is dressed can not be an excuse for disgusting crimes.

I had a pelican curry the other night. It tasted great, but the bill was enormous.

Great result slightly overshaddowed by some aggro and a nasty atmosphere at Home Park. Football Factory was on TV last night, and it seemed that lots of retarded Plymouth and Saints fans wanted to be Danny Dyer this afternoon. I left a bit early as the riot police and their land sharks were brougth out, as did not fancy being held in after the game for ages. Still, looking forward to the Championship and stuffing Pompey twice next season.

Complete rubbish! How many tourists actually come and meet the royal family? I agree that this country's has an amazing collection of HISTORIC castles, palaces and estates/gardens which many tourists are attracted to. This would still exist without the monarchy. Keep the history and the buildings and the tourists will still come, offload the "chosen by god" aristocrats may rich by exploiting the resources of this and other commonwealth/empire countries.

It would be nice if the Brentford fans turned up in the traditional Southampton kit of red and white stripes as a mark of respect to our vastly superior team/fans.

I'd agree that you'll almost get to the Yeovil type area before you lose signal. I find that you must not change radio station though as the tuners seem to be able to hold a weak signal, but never find it again once lost.

I really do hope we get promoted this year though, otherwise we may face the same problems next season, as Swindon have this year. If we fail to get promoted, I would not expect to see Fonte, Lallana, Oxo or Guly at SMS next year. Would we be able to replace those players with similar quality ones? I very much doubt it. Come on Saints, just six more points and the future will be bright.

We seem to have been side tracked into a discussion about devolution. Can I bring this back on topic. I am considering voting Yes, but I am really open to listen to the reasons to vote no. Please can the “no” supporters outline to me why FPTP would be of more benefit to me than AV. These are my circumstances: I live in a constituency where my first choice is perceived to have no chance of winning. Therefore historically I (and probably 10-20% of all voters) have decided to vote "tactically". Voting for my first choice would have increased the likelihood of a party I very much disagree with being elected. (See Deppo’s Parma Violets/Smarties/dog muck analogy posted earlier). However in the most recent election, the party I felt forced to support decided to form a coalition, where they were used as a crutch to support a party that had failed to win a majority of the electorate’s support on their own. Due to this fact I have become pretty disillusioned with the entire political system and have considered not bothering to vote in the future. With AV, I feel that I will at least get my say, and perhaps over several years the party I support’s share of the vote will increase, as many other like me can finally express their true views. Something that is unlikely under FPTP in a constituency where many people think there are only two possible winners. Under AV I can register my first choice (and perhaps a second that also may also have had no chance to actually win), before my tactical vote. It will make me feel like my vote actually means something for the first time ever. I am genuinely interested in reasons that people can give as to why FPTP is a better option for me.

You thinking of a different type of waxing to me? I thought that was cheap.
-
You CAN do this under AV, so what is the problem? Did you watch the video that was posted on this thread?

Swanny You seem to be a bit of an expert, can you give me some advice too please. I have a 86 BMW 635 in black. It has had some new panels, which to start with, blended in really well. But in the last couple of years you can really tell the difference between the new and old ones, as the old paint has lost some of its lustre. Will a decent detailer be able to make both the old and new panels look the same, or in the long run will I be looking at a full respray?

yeah, he was please he missed the spuds game after all!
-
I did, I said I could probably offload the ticket if he wanted me to, but said he would prefer to see a live game!
-
I've got a mate at work, who is a Spuds fan. He hasn't been to a live footy game in years, so I suggested he come along with me to SMS. (You never know i might convert him). He agreed, so I suggested tonights game a few weeks back. He was up for it and I bought him a ticket. It wasn't until yesterday he realised that it clashed with Spuds v Madrid. I'm impressed that he is still going to come to SMS tonight and record the Spuds game. There is hope for him yet!

May well do, just 2 miles down the road for me. Always plenty of great cars to look at, plus it's free.

When I was in recruitment we had a american company client based near Chichester called Wayne Kerr Electronics.

Leyton Orient away sold out...Extra tickets allocated

I bought 4 adult tickets with my season ticket (adult) and my Dad's (Senior), so they were no fussed about concessions there. -
Perhaps they think they will get a bigger crowd on a Bank Holiday, especially as it will probably be a crucial fixture for both teams.
