Funny that, could’ve sworn someone else in this thread said Scott Parker was going there 😉 It’s the right decision for West Ham, he’s a good manager, whether West Ham is the right club for him, questionable maybe? But if he was sacked I’d have taken him in a heartbeat.

Sport Republic’s scouting network is weird. Theyre trying to be this trendy hip business scouting for the group rather than scouts at individual clubs. This is why there’s so much chopping and changing in roles. Hardly a surprise recruitment has been iffy in recent years, you could be scouting for Goztepe on Monday and scouting for Southampton on the Wednesday.

I don’t care as long as the kit isn’t 90% white like it has been in two of the last four years

I’m sure I heard on Football Martin’s podcast thing a couple of days ago that he doubts the leak is the correct shirt, because his “sources” said we were going away from traditional stripes. ITK status - pending….

There is absolutely nothing in has parting comments 😂 He simply may not have worked closely with him. Remember Tonda is a head coach, I imagine Chorley has more direct links with Rasmus and Spors than the first team. Still, didn’t stop Sky from positing about it like it was some kind of breaking news. Fannies.

I’d take JWP if he was on a pittance, and assuming that one of our other CMs has left. Otherwise I’m more against bringing former players back. See Lallana and Romeu for reasonings. 😅

Money talks. You can get anyone you want if you promise them a few quid. I wonder what our players would say if you said to them “we’ll give you a promotion win bonus to keep you given the circumstances” but with the expectation we go up this season, if we don’t the club keeps it. 😅
-
This could not be more accurate. See Aston Villa’s hiring of Unai Emery and our hiring of Nathan Jones - and then the time that has passed for both clubs. 🤷🏻♂️

Vibes of: Captain Blackadder: There was one tiny flaw in the plan? Lieutenant George: What was that, sir? Captain Blackadder: It was bollocks. 🤣
-
I’m now going to take a different approach and say I couldn’t give a toss until we actually have some real news. Some kind of report or fact to work with. Not gossip. 🤣 Lets all go out and enjoy the sun!
-
Depends if he’s going to play football or take up the Oriol role 😅

I think we’re in a good position to be promoted next season. It might seem a bit ridiculous but we’re still an attractive prospect, big club, good facilities, playing squad etc. Players might want to leave, but contracts are still valid, I think we’ll cash in on a couple but not as many as people think. This summer will now show the owners business model. Whether they give a toss more about which league we’re in or player trading.

That’s one way of getting your engagements up 🤣

I thought there would’ve been the odd leak by now, but it’s very closed off. I remember the Nicola Cortese days were “give the media not a whiff of anything” which I admire, but that felt prefessional. This feels more “what do we do now, fellas?” 🤣 But I am amazed that’s not been a single rumour.

Can’t argue with anyone of this, good post

A lot of the players have come out in their respect for him over the months. Now this has happened things can quickly change. Do the same players still respect him given he’s taken an opportunity from them, some won’t get that chance again in their careers? Id be fascinated to know the club stance on this, the silence is pretty deafening, and as much as I would like to see him gone on the back of all this - if him staying was the difference between 95% of the first team staying - then I need to have a think. But the coercion of analysts and some not feeling comfortable enough to speak up doesn’t sit right with me. At that point as a business you’re basically saying “he’s done, he did nothing wrong, we don’t care about how little he made people feel”.
-
I don’t think my opinion was much different to many on here at the time. 😂 So with that in mind are you going to start commenting on others that said the same thing? And actually I said be confident, nothing rude, but if you want to go down that road you can if you like, but it’s not a productive use of my time. 🤷🏻♂️

Expecting this day to be the same as yesterday Tumbleweed The Sport Republic Way
-
Will today be the day that Tonda is sacked and Adam Lallana is appointed? 😂
-
Tonda will divide fan opinion whether he stays or goes, and that isn’t good for SR or the fanbase. Assuming he goes Sport Republic have two options: 1) Alienate fans further by hiring another left-field nobody 2) Actually pay out and try and get a head coach/manager with a bit of experience that will rouse the players and fans I don’t have any real confidence in Sport Republic or their strategy, but based on the last four years it’s almost like they’re still trying to figure out what their strategy is too. But they need to get people onside. A year ago was shit or busy for them, apparently, but I can’t see Dragan Solak walking away from a £200m+ investment, I’d certainly be looking to recoup that money back.
-
The coercion of youngsters into doing the spying that was mentioned in the report, and then almost like belittling them when their work wasn’t good; that doesn’t sit right with me. I know you get it in all walks of life, but it’s still unacceptable.
-
Oh that was absolutely ridiculous too. Yeah they’ve both had excellent careers at Man City but there’s still points at stake, prize money etc
-
Or maybe he’s just been very rational and spoke with common sense? I had the same thought last week, I just don’t co-host a podcast lol. What is the argument for keeping Tonda? I’d be interested to know five reasons we should keep him, because we’re all aware of five pretty serious reasons why we shouldn’t.
-
Maybe I’m just getting old, but I do find it cringeworthy players that celebrate like that despite being poor for 99% of the season. They've massively underperformed. They should be ashamed.
